For a practical starting point, use Halo Support’s competitive PC settings: Low quality preset, 100° field of view, VSync off, and reduced visual effects. Then tune resolution scale and the minimum frame-rate target to your hardware. These values are a baseline, not a guaranteed best setup; your priorities are stable performance, a clear image, and comfortable visibility.
Official competitive settings to start with
Halo Support recommends treating its competitive configuration as a starting point and adjusting it for your PC and player preference. The settings below are its published baseline, not a promise of a particular frame rate.

| Blur, Screen Shake, Exposure, Full Screen Effects | 0% |
| Speed Lines | Disabled |
| Sharpening | 60% |
| Brightness | Start at default 0; adjust in Screen Calibration |
| Resolution Scale | 100% |
| Minimum Frame Rate | 120 |
| Maximum Frame Rate | Unlimited |
| VSync | Disabled |
| Quality Preset | Low |
| Effects Quality | Medium |
| Animation Quality | Max |
| Simulation Quality | Ultra |
| Async Compute | Test both states based on whether your PC is CPU-bound |
For HUD visibility, the same baseline suggests choosing an enemy UI color, setting reticle outline opacity to 1.0 and thickness to 2.0, and enabling enemy names. The available enemy colors are Vermilion/red, Cerise/purple, Grass/green, and Pineapple/yellow.
Tune resolution and frame-rate targets first
Resolution Scale
Resolution Scale changes the internal 3D render resolution relative to the window’s default resolution. Going below 100% can improve performance, at the cost of image detail; going above 100% supersamples for a sharper image but requires more resources. If the picture is too soft, try a higher scale before changing several other settings at once.

- 【EASY ON THE EYES】 Protect your eyes and enhance your comfort with Blue-Light Shift technology. This feature reduces harmful blue light emissions from your screen, helping to alleviate eye strain during long hours of use and promoting healthier viewing habits.
- 【WIDEN YOUR PERSPECTIVE】Our sleek minimal bezel design ensures undivided attention. The nearly bezel-free display seamlessly connects in a dual monitor arrangement, delivering an unobstructed view that lets you focus on more at once, completely distraction-free.
Minimum and Maximum Frame Rate
Minimum Frame Rate can dynamically lower resolution when the game falls below the selected target. Halo Support warns that a target of 120 may prioritize maintaining that frame rate so aggressively that the image looks blurry or fuzzy during demanding gameplay. If that happens, reduce the minimum target rather than assuming the display or graphics driver is at fault.
Maximum Frame Rate caps output. Although the official competitive baseline leaves it Unlimited, Halo Support notes that lowering the cap may improve consistency and smoothness. If performance swings noticeably, try a cap your PC can sustain rather than chasing a peak it reaches only intermittently.

- QHD Resolution (2560 x 1440) has 1.7 times the pixel density of Full HD for incredibly detailed pinsharp images
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadow for added depth - making every scene feel more vivid and realistic
- The 180Hz refresh rate minimizes lag for gameplay with ultra-smooth action. Plus, the 1ms response time helps capture your moves in real-time, allowing you to react fast for gaming precision
- AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
- Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort
Choose graphics quality around your performance headroom
The Quality Preset changes the graphics settings as a group, and its default depends on the PC. Begin with Low if competitive performance is the priority, then raise individual options only if the game remains smooth enough for you. Some changes require restarting the game.

Decide whether Async Compute helps your PC
There is no universal Async Compute setting. Enabling it increases CPU overhead. If your PC is not CPU-bound, it may reduce GPU overhead and improve performance; if the CPU is already the bottleneck, enabling it will likely hurt performance.
- Use the same map or repeatable gameplay situation for each test.
- Play once with Async Compute enabled and once with it disabled, keeping other settings unchanged.
- Keep the state that produces the steadier, more comfortable result on your hardware.
Balance field of view, VSync, and visual clutter
Field of View
A wider field of view shows more of the surroundings, but can cost performance. A narrower angle may be more comfortable for players prone to motion sickness. Halo Support’s competitive baseline is 100°; adjust from there according to visibility and comfort.

VSync
VSync uses triple-buffered synchronization to reduce screen tearing, but adds latency. Turning it off—as the competitive baseline recommends—can allow higher rendering rates, though tearing may appear. Turning it on may reduce peak and average frame rate. Choose based on whether tearing or input latency bothers you more.
Brightness and distracting effects
Start brightness at 0, then adjust it in Screen Calibration for your display and surroundings. Halo Support notes that higher brightness may help some players pick out enemies and details, but it is a preference rather than a universal improvement. The recommended lower blur, screen shake, exposure, and full-screen effects, plus disabled speed lines, can reduce visual distraction; sharpening starts at 60%.

Make enemy and reticle indicators easier to distinguish
Pick an enemy UI color that contrasts with the environments you play in and that you can distinguish comfortably. The official options are Vermilion/red, Cerise/purple, Grass/green, and Pineapple/yellow. The competitive baseline uses reticle outline opacity 1.0 and thickness 2.0, and enables enemy names. Halo Support notes that a more defined reticle can be easier to see against lighter-colored outlines.
Check the PC hardware guidance in context
Halo Support’s published PC hardware tiers were updated December 12, 2024. They are reference configurations from that support page, not a fresh performance test or a guarantee of a particular frame rate.
| Published tier | Processor | Graphics card | Memory and storage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Low/minimum | Ryzen 5 1600 or Intel i5-4440 | Radeon RX 570 or GTX 1050 Ti | 4+ GB VRAM, 8+ GB RAM, 50+ GB SSD |
| Medium | Ryzen 5 2600 or Intel i5-9500 | Radeon RX 5500 XT (8GB) or GTX 1660 (6GB) | 6+ GB VRAM, 8+ GB RAM, 50+ GB SSD |
| High/recommended | Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel i7-9700K | Radeon RX 5700 XT or RTX 2070 | 8+ GB VRAM, 16+ GB RAM, 50+ GB SSD |
| Ultra | Ryzen 9 5900X or Intel i9-11900K | Radeon 6800 XT or RTX 3080 | 10+ GB VRAM, 16+ GB RAM, 50+ GB SSD |
For current compatibility details and graphics drivers, consult Halo Support’s PC hardware specifications and your graphics-card maker. Driver releases and game updates can change performance, so these published tiers should not be treated as current benchmarks.
