Google has not announced the Fitbit Edge, but leaked retail assets reportedly list compatibility with both Android and iOS. If that detail holds, the Edge could offer a cross-platform option that Pixel Watch cannot: Google says Pixel Watches work only with Android. The reported compatibility is not confirmed, and Fitbit already sells another cross-platform wearable, the screenless Fitbit Air.
What the Fitbit Edge leak says
Edge is a leak-reported product name, not an officially announced Google device. PhoneArena’s October 6, 2026 report describes leaked images and a chart said to list a display, GPS, up to seven days of battery life, and compatibility with Android 11 or later and iOS 16.4 or later. The same report says the assets originated with Android Headlines and describe notifications and a small set of apps, including Google Maps, music controls, and Find My Phone. These are claims from reported retail materials, not confirmed specifications from Google. PhoneArena’s report

9to5Google’s October 4 coverage of the Android Headlines assets also describes Bluetooth connectivity without Wi-Fi, notifications, Google Maps, media and music controls, Find My Phone, and up to seven days of battery life. It reports color names Canyon, Obsidian, and Olive, and says the rear sensor arrangement appears similar to Fitbit Air’s. Those visual observations do not establish additional health or payment features. 9to5Google’s report

The distinction matters because Google’s product comparison guide says Pixel Watches are compatible only with Android, while Fitbit watches and trackers work with most Android and Apple iOS models. The reported Edge would therefore offer a phone-platform choice Pixel Watch does not. Apple Watch, meanwhile, is designed for Apple’s platform; the evidence here supports describing Edge’s reported cross-platform appeal against Pixel Watch, not claiming it is better overall than either smartwatch. How Edge’s reported features compare with established Fitbit options
The leaked feature mix suggests a middle ground: more interaction than a screenless tracker, but not enough verified information to call Edge a full smartwatch. The table separates the reported Edge details from Google’s official Fitbit Air information. Pixel Watch compatibility is included only where Google’s comparison guide establishes it.

What the cross-platform advantage does—and does not—mean
If the iOS compatibility claim is accurate, Edge could suit someone who wants a Google-made wearable while keeping an iPhone, or who may switch between iPhone and Android. It would also stand apart from Pixel Watch’s Android-only compatibility. But cross-platform support is not unique to Edge within Google’s Fitbit range: Google already lists iOS compatibility for Fitbit Air and says Fitbit trackers and watches work with most Apple iOS models.

Nor does compatibility alone establish that Edge can match Apple Watch’s capabilities or provide the same experience on iPhone and Android. The leaked material describes a display, notifications, and a few named apps, but does not establish the complete app catalog, final software behavior, or how features might differ by phone platform.

The reports reviewed do not establish Edge’s price, release date, or final feature list. PhoneArena floats a possible $149–$199 price range as its own estimate, not as a figure from the leak or Google. It should not be treated as a confirmed price.

Google confirmed in 2025 that it planned new Fitbit hardware for 2026, according to Wareable, but that does not confirm Edge by name or identify it as the successor to Charge 6. Wareable reports that Charge 6 debuted in September 2023; that makes it established Fitbit context, not proof of Edge’s lineage.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesUntil Google announces the product, the practical takeaway is limited: the leak describes a Fitbit with a screen and some smartwatch-like functions, and its reported iPhone support would distinguish it from Pixel Watch. Whether that support, battery estimate, app selection, and GPS feature make it into a released product remains to be seen.
