Start in the Play Store at profile picture > Play Points > More > Points history. The history shows points earned and used, so it helps distinguish a delayed earning from a failed redemption. To check your current balance and points’ expiration date, open Play Points > Use. Then follow the steps for your transaction type below.
Check your points history first
Open the Google Play Store, tap your profile picture, then go to Play Points > More > Points history. Look for the purchase, offer, or redemption in question and note whether points were added or deducted. For the current balance and expiration date, go to Play Points > Use. Points history is also the best starting point before contacting support: the next step depends on whether points are missing from an earning event or were deducted for a reward.
If points from a purchase are missing
- Check when you joined Play Points. Purchases made before you joined do not earn points. Google’s joining guidance covers enrollment and availability.
- Confirm which Google Account made the purchase. The transaction must use the account enrolled in Play Points. A family member’s purchase does not earn points for your account, even if the family uses a shared payment method.
- Allow for processing time. Some purchases or devices can take time to confirm. Google says points may take up to seven days to appear in some circumstances; check Points history again after that period rather than repeating the purchase. - Check transaction and offer eligibility. Points generally apply to eligible Google Play transactions, and promotional offers may have extra requirements. Program details and available content vary by country. Review the applicable offer terms and Google’s earning rules.
- Escalate if the points still do not appear. Use the support route on Google’s Play Points troubleshooting page if the account, enrollment date, eligibility, and relevant waiting period do not explain the missing points.
If a reward redemption appears to have failed
First check Points history for a deduction. Then use the guidance for the kind of reward you redeemed; a checkout payment, in-game item, coupon, Play credit, and third-party voucher do not resolve in the same place.

Points used at Google Play checkout
For an eligible checkout where points were combined with another payment method, Google says the points are deducted when the transaction begins. If the transaction is unsuccessful, they return within 1–7 days, depending on the payment method. This window applies to that checkout scenario; it is not a general refund promise for every reward. In-app or in-game item
If Points history shows no deduction, try the purchase again. If points were used, open the app or game and check for the item there. If it is still missing, follow Google’s restart and troubleshooting steps on its Play Points troubleshooting page. If the in-app purchase problem persists, contact the app developer. Google says points used for in-app or in-game items cannot be refunded.

Coupon
A coupon exchanged with points applies automatically when you make a qualifying in-app purchase. Check the coupon’s conditions and locate the saved offer or its history in the Play Store. Google lists the relevant rules in its redemption guidance. Points-derived coupons expire after one year, according to that guidance.
Google Play credit
Check the Google Play balance for the account used to redeem the points. Google says Play credit received by exchanging points expires after one year; see its redemption guidance.

Third-party voucher
For a voucher code or redemption problem on a third-party platform, contact that platform. Google’s troubleshooting guidance directs users there for third-party voucher issues.

- Points earning or Google Play redemption: If history, eligibility, and the applicable processing window do not resolve the issue, use Google Play Help’s support flow on its troubleshooting page.
- Missing in-app purchase item after points were deducted: Contact the app developer if Google’s restart and troubleshooting steps do not help.
- Third-party voucher: Contact the platform that issued or accepts the voucher.
Google’s troubleshooting page notes: “Many Google Play Points issues can be resolved by Google’s support team, but may take some time to take effect.” Public help pages cannot determine whether a specific transaction qualified, whether a reversal has already been issued, or what the outcome of an individual support case will be.
