Price difference: what the numbers show and what they don’t

This is a listing snapshot, not a guaranteed deal. Prices shift with sales, seller, storage or RAM variant, colour and warranty status, so check the exact SKU before buying. For reference, Google’s launch announcement of 19 March 2025 gave an India launch price of INR 49,999 for the Pixel 9a (Google India). In the US, the Google Store advertised the Pixel 9a from $499 and showed it out of stock when checked. Don’t mix US and India prices.

#1 Best Overall
- Gemini AI Integration: Built-in Gemini AI assistant supercharges your productivity and creativity, helping you accomplish tasks faster, generate content, and unlock new possibilities right from your smartphone without needing additional apps or subscriptions
Display and size
The Pixel 9a is the compact choice at 6.3 inches. The Nord 6 gives a 6.78-inch panel at a higher resolution and a 165 Hz maximum refresh rate, against the Pixel’s 120 Hz ceiling. The Nord suits people who want a big screen and smooth gaming; the Pixel suits one-handed use.
Performance
The Nord 6 uses Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and can be had with 12 GB RAM; the Pixel 9a uses Tensor G4 with 8 GB. OnePlus pitches the Nord 6 toward gaming, but those are manufacturer claims made under lab conditions with disclaimers on its page. No same-conditions benchmark between these two phones is cited here, so treat the chipset difference as a pointer, not a verdict.

Battery and charging
On paper the Nord 6’s 9,000 mAh battery is almost double the Pixel’s 5,100 mAh typical rating, and it charges at 80 W by wire. The Pixel is the one with Qi-certified wireless charging. Capacity and charger wattage don’t prove endurance, because screen size, refresh rate, chipset efficiency and software all affect real-world use. Expect the Nord to lead on paper, but independent testing would be needed to quantify it.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Cameras
The Pixel 9a has a 48 MP main and 13 MP ultrawide; the Nord 6 has a 50 MP main and 8 MP ultrawide. The Pixel’s ultrawide has the higher resolution on paper. Megapixels say little about colour, dynamic range, low light or processing, and Google emphasises its camera tools and Gemini features in its launch post. Without comparable test shots, no camera winner can be declared.

Software support
This is the clearest gap. Google promises seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates for the Pixel 9a. OnePlus states four years of Android OS updates and six years of security updates for the Nord 6. If you keep phones for many years, the Pixel’s longer OS runway matters.
Durability
Google rates the Pixel 9a IP68. OnePlus advertises a broader set of ratings for the Nord 6, including IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K. These are vendor claims on dust and water resistance, not guarantees against drops or wear, and water damage is generally not covered by warranty.

- The best phone camera under $500 - Take photos and videos so amazing, you won’t believe you actually took them. Capture small details, create perfect group shots, and even get vivid ones at night.
- One ask, done across your apps - Save time by asking Gemini to find information and get things done for you across your Google apps – like Maps, Calendar, Gmail, and YouTube Music. It’s multitasking made easy.
- Talk things out live - Instead of typing, use Gemini Live and have a natural, free-flowing conversation. Gemini follows along, even if you change the topic or switch the question mid-sentence.
- Take the picture. And be in it, too - Add Me makes sure no one is left out of a photo. Take one with the group, then swap in the photographer, and Pixel magically merges both photos.
- Tiny is epic - Use Macro Focus to reveal vivid color and striking contrast in photos and videos of the smallest details – like raindrops, flowers, or sprinkles.
Which should you pick?
- Pixel 9a if you want a compact phone, wireless charging, Google’s camera and AI features, and the longest update promise.
- Nord 6 if you want the larger, 165 Hz screen, the biggest battery, fast wired charging and a lower displayed price in India.
Compare identical RAM and storage variants, check local warranty terms, and look at live prices before buying.
