But it is not an automatic upgrade: the US starting price is $1,099, the base model has less RAM than its predecessor, and a reviewer found its benchmark performance behind the Samsung Galaxy S26. The value depends on whether its Google-specific strengths matter more to you than raw performance or the price increase.
What the Pixel 11 Pro costs—and what the base model includes
Google announced the Pixel 11 Pro on August 12, 2026, with retail availability beginning August 20. In an August 25 update, Google listed a US starting price of $1,099. TechRadar lists the 256GB model at $1,099 in the US, £1,079 in the UK, and AU$1,849 in Australia. Those are listed starting prices, not guarantees of current pricing; check the local store for today’s price and the exact regional configuration.

The base configuration pairs 256GB of storage with 12GB of RAM. TechRadar lists a 512GB version with 16GB of RAM and includes a 1TB tier in its specifications, but regional availability of that larger configuration is not established here. The reviewer used the 512GB/16GB model, so their firsthand performance observations do not establish how the base model’s 12GB of RAM handles AI features.
Compared with the Pixel 10 Pro, TechRadar says the Pixel 11 Pro’s entry price rose by $100 in the US, £80 in the UK, and AU$150 in Australia. In exchange, base storage doubled, but base RAM fell from 16GB to 12GB. Whether that is a good trade depends on whether you value the extra storage more than memory headroom—and on the current price of the older phone.

Camera hardware and features
Google says the Pixel 11 Pro has a new main camera sensor and an upgraded 48MP telephoto camera with 30% more light sensitivity. Google also lists Portrait Mode at 5x, 120x Pro Zoom, and Night Sight capture up to 4.5 times faster. Those are manufacturer claims and specifications, not independent proof that photos look better in every setting. Extreme-zoom and low-light quality are best judged from comparable photo and video samples.
The Associated Press describes Magic Capture as automatically taking a series of photos and video with one shutter tap. It may be useful when a moment is difficult to capture with a single press, though the launch information does not establish how its results compare with other camera modes in real-world use.

Tensor G6 and Google’s performance claims
Google calls Tensor G6 its fastest and most powerful chip to date and says it runs the latest Gemini Nano model. At launch, Google claimed 25% faster web browsing and 15% quicker app launches versus Tensor G5, as well as up to 3.5 times faster on-device AI tasks while using up to 3.5 times less energy. These are Google’s comparisons, not independent benchmark results.

That makes the Pixel a less obvious choice for buyers who prioritize benchmark performance or demanding games. The reviewer’s hands-on experience was with the 16GB RAM configuration, not the 12GB base model.

HiLight and the display
Google says the Pixel 11 Pro has a 6.3-inch Super Actua display with peak brightness up to 3,600 nits. Google describes it as its brightest-ever Super Actua display and says it adds a new anti-scratch coating. Brightness superiority and scratch resistance remain manufacturer claims here, rather than independently measured results.
HiLight adds colored LEDs around the camera flash. Google says they can signal Gemini activity and incoming calls while the phone is face down. Notifications from selected contacts are described as a future capability, so they should not be treated as available at launch.

Battery life and charging in the review
TechRadar’s reviewer said the phone lasted a full day in their use, including days with heavy streaming or gaming, and charged it overnight. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a guarantee for every user or workload.

In the reviewer’s charging test with a 45W adapter, Extreme Charging Mode brought the phone to 25% in 15 minutes and to 100% in under 90 minutes. With that mode off, it reached 24% after 15 minutes and took 1 hour 45 minutes to fully charge. These are the reviewer’s results under the stated setup; charging time can vary with conditions and equipment.

- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[2]
- Sleek, solid, and built to last: Pixel 11 has the slimmest camera bar yet in its class, a smooth satin back, and ultra-durable glass and IP68 water and dust protection, so it’s intentionally built to stay strong for years[3,4]
- Long battery life: With 30+ hours of reliable power and upgraded wireless charging, your Google Pixel 11 can charge 25% faster than before[5,6]; it even powers up to 55% in about 30 minutes with ultra-fast wired charging[7]
- The latest evolution of the Google Pixel Camera: Take super crisp closeups with an upgraded 30x Super Zoom[3]; Night Sight takes clear photos, portraits, and panos in low-light settings
Google says the Pixel 11 series supports Qi2.2 25W wireless charging and has built-in Pixelsnap magnets. TechRadar’s reviewer reports 25W wireless charging with Qi2.2. The combination adds magnetic accessory compatibility without requiring a separate magnetic case for the phone itself.

Google advertises seven years of operating-system, security, and Pixel Drop updates for the Pixel 11 series. That long commitment may appeal to buyers who keep a phone for years, though it does not by itself guarantee that every future feature will work identically on every model.
Google also advertises a six-month Google AI Pro offer for Pro models. Eligibility, country support, and subscription terms can vary, so check the offer details for your market before treating it as part of the phone’s value.
Should you buy the Pixel 11 Pro or upgrade?
It makes sense if…
- You want Google’s Gemini experience and camera features, and the Pixel’s particular software approach is more important to you than leading benchmark scores.
- You are using an older Pixel. TechRadar’s reviewer especially recommends considering the upgrade for owners of phones older than the Pixel 9.
- You want built-in Pixelsnap magnets, Qi2.2 wireless charging, and a 6.3-inch display in a phone with Google’s advertised seven-year update commitment.
Compare alternatives or keep your phone if…
- You already have a recent Pixel that meets your needs. TechRadar says many of the new features are software-based and could reach older Pixel phones, which weakens the case for upgrading solely to get new software features.
- You prioritize performance in benchmark-heavy tasks or demanding games. The review found the Samsung Galaxy S26 ahead in its cited Geekbench 6 and 3DMark comparisons, though it does not establish a complete ranking across all use cases.
- You are weighing the price against a Pixel 10 Pro. TechRadar suggests the older model as an alternative because it remains capable and may be discounted; check current prices rather than assuming a discount.
- You want to choose based on camera results at extreme zoom or in low light. Google’s specifications and speed claims cannot substitute for side-by-side sample comparisons.
Overall, the Pixel 11 Pro looks like a capable Google-focused flagship, but its upgrades do not erase the price and configuration compromises. It is easiest to recommend to someone moving from an older phone who specifically wants its camera, Gemini, or magnetic-charging features. For recent Pixel owners and performance-first buyers, the reasons to spend more are less compelling.
