I’m moving my task workflow from Google Keep to TickTick because TickTick’s documented lists, tags, filters, reminders and calendar tools are built around planning tasks. That does not make it a better home for every Keep note, and there is no confirmed direct Google Keep import in TickTick’s import documentation. Before switching, separate the question of where Google reminders now live from the work of moving notes and checklists.
Why I want a task manager rather than a notes-first setup
Keep works well for quick notes and checklists. But when a note is really a task I need to sort, revisit or schedule, a task-oriented structure is a better fit for how I want to work. TickTick’s feature page documents task lists, tags, smart filters, reminders and calendar functions, giving me more ways to organize and review tasks in one system. Those capabilities are a reason to consider the switch, not proof that the app will improve anyone’s productivity.

My dividing line is practical: keep reference material in a notes app if I mostly need to remember what it says; move actionable items into TickTick if I want to manage them as tasks. A checklist may belong in either place, depending on whether I need task-planning features or simply a short list attached to a note.

What happens to Google Keep reminders
Google’s current help page says Keep reminders migrated to Google Tasks in the second half of 2025. Reminders can be viewed in Google Tasks and Calendar, and Google says Keep no longer sends reminder notifications. New reminders created in Keep are saved as tasks. Google’s instructions for Keep reminders in Google Tasks explain where to find and edit them.

This is a change inside Google’s services; it is not a transfer to TickTick. Google says reminders generally move with the same data, but location-based reminders can no longer be created or received. Google also documents a 100,000-task limit: if there are more than 100,000 Keep reminders, the oldest may not migrate. Check important dates and notification settings in Tasks and Calendar rather than assuming every old reminder still behaves as it did in Keep.
Can I import Google Keep notes directly into TickTick?
TickTick documents an import route for supported backup files and selected applications. Its help instructions direct users to Settings > Integrations & Import, then to upload a backup file for a corresponding supported source or format. The cited documentation does not list Google Keep as a direct import source, so I would not count on an automatic or lossless conversion of Keep notes, checklists, attachments or reminders. TickTick’s backup and import instructions describe its documented options.

Before moving anything, make an inventory of what is in Keep and preserve a copy of material you cannot afford to lose. Separate plain notes, checklists, attached files and dated reminders; each may need a different treatment. For items you decide to recreate in TickTick, verify the task text, due date and reminder settings in the destination before relying on them.
How calendar visibility fits into the switch
TickTick’s calendar documentation describes subscribing to third-party calendars, including Google Calendar and iCloud Calendar. That can make calendar information visible alongside a planning workflow, but the documentation does not establish full two-way synchronization of Keep reminders or Google Tasks with TickTick. TickTick’s calendar subscription guide is the place to check the supported setup.

If your routine depends on seeing appointments and tasks together, confirm what the subscription actually displays in your account and whether it meets your needs. Do not treat calendar visibility as evidence that Keep data or reminder changes automatically sync between the services.

TickTick’s free and paid plans have different limits, including differences in capacity and reminders. Those terms and prices can change, so check TickTick’s current upgrade page before deciding whether the free plan covers your intended task volume and reminder use. I would make that check before moving a large workflow, not after depending on a feature that may require an upgrade.

A cautious way to make the change
- Check Google’s reminder transition: Open Google Tasks and Calendar and locate reminders that matter. Edit dates or times where needed, and confirm that notifications are set the way you expect.
- Sort Keep content: Identify which notes are reference material, which checklists are active tasks, and which entries have attachments or dates that need separate attention.
- Preserve a copy: Keep an accessible backup of anything important before rebuilding or importing it elsewhere.
- Test TickTick’s import route: In TickTick, go to Settings > Integrations & Import and use only a supported source and backup format. Do not assume this route accepts a Google Keep export.
- Recreate and verify critical items: For tasks that must not be missed, check the task wording, date, reminder and notification behavior in TickTick before treating the migration as complete.
- Check plan limits and calendar needs: Compare your expected usage with TickTick’s current plan terms and verify the behavior of any calendar subscription you intend to use.
