If GoFullPage stops partway down, leaves a blank section, or produces several images, first check whether the tab is a normal webpage, whether the page uses an iframe or custom scrolling, and whether the capture is simply too large to fit in one image. GoFullPage recognizes that some pages do not capture properly; the right fix depends on which limitation you have run into.
Work through these checks first
- Check the page type. If the open tab is a browser-rendered PDF, GoFullPage says it cannot access and scroll the document as an ordinary webpage. Use the PDF itself or another PDF-specific method instead. GoFullPage FAQ
- Look for embedded content. If the page contains an iframe and GoFullPage shows an optional permission prompt, decide whether to grant the requested access. Declining means the extension will not run on that page; pages without iframe content can still work. GoFullPage permissions guide
- Update Chrome and GoFullPage. The FAQ recommends checking that both are current. Its references to Chrome 76/77 and extension versions below 6.4 are historical examples, not current version advice. To install or update, use the official Chrome Web Store listing.
- If using DevTools mobile emulation, make the emulated device fully visible on screen. GoFullPage says an emulated device that extends beyond the visible screen can prevent below-fold content from being captured. GoFullPage FAQ
- For exceptionally long pages, allow for multiple images. A capture may be split if one image is too large. If the result would contain many images, the capture itself may fail. GoFullPage FAQ
- If the problem persists, consider site-specific behavior. GoFullPage advises contacting support through the extension when an error continues. GoFullPage FAQ
Why GoFullPage may stop scrolling
The site controls scrolling with JavaScript
Some websites manage scrolling through their own JavaScript rather than behaving like a straightforward document. GoFullPage says it can handle many tricky page styles, but acknowledges that some sites still do not capture properly; Adobe Spark is one example in its FAQ. This is a compatibility limitation, not a setting with a guaranteed fix. If the failure continues, use the extension’s support route.

The page is a browser-rendered PDF
A PDF shown in a browser is not necessarily an ordinary scrollable HTML page. GoFullPage says it cannot access PDF content to scroll and capture it in the usual way. Treat the document as a PDF and use a PDF-oriented workflow rather than repeatedly retrying a webpage capture.

When GoFullPage detects embedded iframe content, it may request additional browser permission to scroll and capture that content. The permission is contextual, and the guide says the extension runs when activated by the user. Granting access allows the capture on that page; declining prevents GoFullPage from running there. Consider what the prompt permits before accepting it.

Fix a blank ending or missing lower section
First update Chrome and the extension, then check whether you are using Chrome DevTools’ mobile device emulation. The emulated device must be entirely visible on the screen for GoFullPage to capture below the fold. The FAQ’s old Chrome and extension version examples should not be mistaken for present-day requirements. GoFullPage FAQ
Understand split images and large captures
A very tall or high-resolution page can exceed what the browser can produce as one image. GoFullPage may divide the capture into multiple images, but it warns that captures resulting in many images can fail. Splitting is therefore a possible outcome, not a guaranteed workaround.

Choosing a PDF export configured as a full image can place the capture on one PDF page, according to GoFullPage’s FAQ. That changes the PDF layout; it does not remove the underlying image-size limitation.

The result tab initially shows the screenshot zoomed out. Clicking toggles the display zoom, while the downloaded output remains full resolution. If the entire page is present but looks tiny in the preview, check the display scale before treating it as missing content. GoFullPage FAQ

What GoFullPage can handle—and what that does not guarantee
The current Chrome Web Store listing describes support for preparing long pages so lazy-loaded content can appear, handling sticky elements and wide pages, and exporting PNG, JPG, or PDF. These are listed capabilities, not a promise that every site or page structure will work. For installation and updates, rely on the official listing.
