Choose GoDaddy if you want its managed WordPress service, including the daily backups and routine WordPress features listed on its product page. Choose TMDHosting if you prefer cPanel and LiteSpeed tools, want transfer assistance or a listed server region, and have confirmed that your chosen tier includes the backups you need. Neither provider is a clear winner on speed or reliability based on the vendors’ own claims.

Compare the same hosting type, market, billing term, renewal cost, site count and backup requirements before deciding. GoDaddy shared hosting and GoDaddy managed WordPress are different products; they are not interchangeable options in a simple brand-versus-brand comparison.

How do GoDaddy and TMDHosting differ?

What matters GoDaddy TMDHosting
Hosting choices Offers shared hosting and a separate managed WordPress product. The US shared-hosting page lists cPanel. Shared and WordPress plans list cPanel, LiteSpeed and CloudLinux, along with WordPress tools on its WordPress plans.
WordPress workload Managed WordPress lists automatic core updates, daily backups, malware scanning and removal, a web application firewall, DDoS protection and CDN-related features. WordPress plans list staging and cloning, WordPress tools in cPanel and automatic WordPress version updates.
Backups Daily backups are listed for managed WordPress. GoDaddy says subscription backup services end if the associated hosting subscription is cancelled. Starter says no backups; Business and Enterprise list 30 backup copies.
Migration and support Product materials describe a DIY WordPress migration tool and support options. Describes free website transfer or manual transfer and 24/7/365 support. Its shared-hosting page lists ticketing, chat and Slack.
Server locations Managed WordPress materials describe regionally optimized data centers but do not provide a comparable list of selectable locations on the reviewed page. Its WordPress page names Chicago, London, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Singapore and Sydney; availability may depend on the plan.
Performance and uptime Advertises performance up to twice faster and a 99.9% uptime guarantee. Lists a 99.9% uptime guarantee and LiteSpeed.

Performance and uptime figures above are vendor statements, not results from an independent head-to-head test. A guarantee is also subject to the provider’s terms; do not treat it as a measured prediction of your site’s experience.

What will hosting cost?

The displayed prices below are not directly comparable: the term and market differ, and neither figure establishes a like-for-like checkout total or renewal cost.

Plan and market Displayed price Relevant listed details
GoDaddy Economy shared hosting, US $6.99 per month for the first one-year term One website, 25 GB NVMe storage, cPanel, a free-domain offer and email; the listed SSL certificate is free for one year.
TMDHosting shared Starter $9.52 per month when paid triennially; $11.90 per month is also displayed One website, 50 GB SSD storage, SSL, LiteSpeed and cPanel; no backups.

These are displayed vendor offers accessed in 2026, not guaranteed prices for every country or checkout. Before buying, check the current offer for your market, total amount due, renewal rate, taxes and optional add-ons. TMDHosting’s $9.52 monthly display requires three-year payment; compare the full upfront commitment, not only the monthly equivalent.

Which provider is a better fit for WordPress?

Choose GoDaddy managed WordPress for a managed workflow

GoDaddy’s managed WordPress product is the more direct fit if you want the provider to handle routine maintenance features described on its page, including automatic core updates and daily backups. It also lists malware scanning and removal, a web application firewall and DDoS protection. These are features of the managed WordPress offer; do not assume they are included in the separate shared-hosting plan.

GoDaddy’s Hosting & Security Services Agreement describes managed WordPress as a streamlined, optimized experience for building and managing WordPress sites. Its agreement also says backup services associated with a hosting subscription are cancelled if that subscription is cancelled. Keep an independent backup copy that you control, and verify backup retention and restoration details for your plan. GoDaddy managed WordPress · GoDaddy Hosting Agreement.

Choose TMDHosting for control-panel tools and tier choice

TMDHosting’s WordPress plans list staging, cloning, multiple PHP versions, WordPress tools in cPanel, automatic WordPress version updates and LiteSpeed. These tools may suit an owner who wants more hands-on control rather than relying on a managed-service bundle.

Check backups by tier before choosing: TMDHosting’s Starter shared and WordPress plans say “No Backups,” while its Business and Enterprise shared plans list 30 backup copies. Do not infer that a higher-tier backup allowance applies to Starter, or assume that a number of copies alone establishes retention length or restore terms. Ask how often backups run, how long they are kept and how restoration works for the exact plan. TMDHosting WordPress plans.

What do the hosting environments and support include?

TMDHosting’s shared plans list cPanel, LiteSpeed, CloudLinux, multiple PHP versions, SSL and free website transfer. The vendor says its support team is available 24/7 through ticketing, chat and Slack. Confirm the transfer’s scope and whether it covers your current site’s files, database, email and any migration work you need.

GoDaddy’s US shared-hosting page lists cPanel, while its managed WordPress service is a separate environment with its own managed features. Its product pages describe a DIY WordPress migration tool. If you need hands-on migration help, establish what support is available for the exact plan and what work you must do yourself. TMDHosting shared plans · GoDaddy US shared plans.

Does server location or speed decide the choice?

TMDHosting’s WordPress materials name data-center locations in Chicago, London, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Singapore and Sydney, with suggested regions each serves. That list does not establish that every location is selectable on every plan. GoDaddy describes regionally optimized data centers for managed WordPress, but the reviewed page does not give a matching list of locations buyers can select. Check availability for your specific plan and market rather than assuming either provider has a location advantage. TMDHosting WordPress hosting · GoDaddy managed WordPress.

GoDaddy’s “up to twice faster” wording and both providers’ 99.9% uptime guarantees are vendor claims, not comparative measurements. LiteSpeed is a listed TMDHosting feature, but that alone does not establish how either host will perform for your site. Do not choose on these figures without independent, comparable results and a review of each guarantee’s terms.

What should you verify before ordering?

  1. Match the product: compare shared hosting with shared hosting, or WordPress hosting with WordPress hosting. Treat GoDaddy managed WordPress as distinct from GoDaddy shared hosting.
  2. Match the commitment: confirm billing term, upfront charge, renewal price, taxes and add-ons for your country. Make TMDHosting’s three-year payment requirement visible when evaluating its displayed $9.52 monthly rate.
  3. Confirm site and storage limits: check that the plan supports your number of websites and expected storage needs.
  4. Check backup and restore terms: confirm frequency, retention, restoration process and cancellation effects. Maintain a separate copy you control.
  5. Confirm migration and support scope: establish which transfer tasks are included, how support is reached and whether the help covers your issue.
  6. Verify the server region: ask whether the location you want is selectable on your exact plan.

Current plan details are on the providers’ GoDaddy US shared-hosting page and TMDHosting shared-hosting page; offers and terms can change.
