How Lohen’s damage loop works
Lohen is a five-star Cryo Polearm character whose Elemental Skill, Unforeseen Strike, activates Masterstroke mode. During this state, his Normal and Charged Attacks generate Joy, which he can spend on the special Skill, Etched Into Bone and Soul. Teammates build Will to Win for him by dealing damage while Masterstroke is active; that resource improves his special Skill and Elemental Burst. His Burst consumes the accumulated Will to Win.

This makes Lohen a field-time damage dealer who benefits from teammates that keep dealing damage and supplying buffs while he performs his attack sequence. Prydwen’s guide recommends repeating a Normal Attack followed by a Charged Attack, then weaving in Skill or Burst uses to support Cryo application and Hexerei passive benefits. Repeat the attack input rather than holding it continuously. The exact sequence can change with the team and encounter.

Prydwen’s September 25, 2026 weapon comparison ranks Disaster and Remorse first for Lohen’s personal damage. That is not automatically the best choice for total team damage: Lohen shares the team’s damage output with off-field attackers, and a weapon’s value also depends on its CRIT balance, refinement, and the team’s reaction buffs.

Which talents should you level first?
- Elemental Skill: Prioritize this first. Its multipliers cover Lohen’s Cryo-converted attack sequence.
- Elemental Burst: Invest next; it deals substantial damage and uses the Will to Win built during Masterstroke.
- Normal Attack: Do not make this a priority for the converted-attack damage pattern described by Prydwen, because the relevant multipliers are in the Skill.

Freeze

- Use Freeze if you can assemble the relevant support lineup and want the Freeze direction represented in Prydwen’s examples.
