Display: A37 lists the higher refresh rate
Both phones have the same listed screen size, resolution class, and display technology. The A37’s listed refresh rate is 120Hz versus 90Hz on the A17. That gives the A37 a higher specification for refresh rate, but Samsung’s figures do not quantify how smooth either phone feels in use.

Storage: A17 is the expandable option
The A17 supports a microSD card up to 2TB according to Samsung’s U.S. comparison; the A37 does not support external memory cards. Choose the A17 if removable storage is important, and consider the A37’s listed 128GB or 256GB built-in options against the space you expect to need.
Charging: A37 has a higher stated maximum
Samsung lists a 5,000mAh battery for each phone, with up to 25W wired charging for the A17 and up to 45W for the A37. The wattage figures describe supported charging, not a measured time-to-full result or battery-life comparison. Samsung also lists neither model as supporting wireless charging or PowerShare on its U.S. comparison page.

Cameras and video: A37 has more listed rear-camera resolution and 4K
The main rear camera is listed at 50MP on both. The A37 has higher listed ultrawide and macro resolutions, while the A17’s front camera has the higher megapixel count. Samsung lists UHD 4K recording at 30fps for the A37 and FHD at 30fps for the A17. Those specifications do not by themselves prove which phone takes better photos or selfies.

Samsung’s U.S. launch announcement set the Galaxy A37 5G’s starting price at $449.99, with U.S. availability beginning April 9, 2026. That is an announced starting price, not a live retailer quote. Samsung’s official U.S. sources reviewed here do not establish an A17 price, so there is no supported exact U.S. price difference to report. Check current local prices for the same storage tier and account for carrier status and promotions before deciding which is better value.

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy A17 5G if microSD expansion up to 2TB is a priority, or if its current local price is lower enough to make the features you give up an acceptable trade-off.
- Choose the Galaxy A37 5G if you want the higher listed refresh rate, up to 45W wired charging, more listed RAM and storage options, higher-resolution ultrawide and macro cameras, or 4K video capture.
- Compare prices before making a value judgment. The available official U.S. price evidence gives an A37 launch starting price but not a comparable A17 figure. Match market, storage, carrier status, and date when checking listings.
