Not for general airflow. Autodesk Support says Fusion does not currently offer a general flow-simulation study. Fusion does have an Electronics Cooling study that accounts for airflow inside an enclosure, and its Fluid Volume command prepares geometry for fluid analysis but does not solve the flow. For broader airflow and fluid-flow analysis, Autodesk points users to Autodesk CFD.
What Fusion 360 can do with airflow
Fusion offers a documented Electronics Cooling study for evaluating whether circuit-board components exceed their maximum allowable temperatures under specified electrical heat loads and enclosure airflow. It is a focused thermal analysis, not a general-purpose tool for simulating airflow around arbitrary objects or through fluid systems. Autodesk’s Simulation Extension documentation describes the study and its intended use.

Autodesk Support stated on February 26, 2026, “At the moment, flow simulation is not available for Fusion.” The answer identifies Autodesk CFD as an option depending on the flow results needed and mentions a Tech Preview specifically for electronics cooling. Autodesk Support’s answer is the clearest current statement about general flow simulation in Fusion.

Fusion’s Fluid Volume command derives a fluid body from solid geometry so it can be used in a fluid-analysis workflow. For external flow, that can be the region of air around an object such as a vehicle or outdoor fixture. For internal flow, it can represent the space inside a pump or valve housing. Autodesk’s examples include preparing geometry for wind-force or drag analysis, but creating that geometry is not the same as calculating airflow, pressure, or heat transfer. Autodesk’s Fluid Volume documentation explains the command.

For an internal fluid volume, the openings must be capped first so the interior region is isolated. This is a geometry-preparation requirement; it does not turn the resulting volume into a solved flow study.
When Autodesk CFD is the better fit
Autodesk presents Autodesk CFD as its software for simulating fluid flow and heat transfer in liquid, gas, and air systems. Its listed applications include pressure drop, flow distribution, heat transfer between solids and fluids, free-surface movement, motion, humidity and condensation, electronics cooling, data centers, machinery and valves, and HVAC design. These are vendor-described capabilities, not guarantees that a particular design will be modeled accurately without appropriate setup and validation. Autodesk describes the product this way: “Autodesk CFD software is used for simulating 3D fluid flow and heat transfer through computational fluid dynamics.” The relevant choice depends on what you need to find out: enclosure component temperatures, or broader flow behavior such as pressure drop and distribution.

Before choosing, identify the output you need and confirm that the relevant study is available in your account. Autodesk says Fusion simulation studies are solved in the cloud, and most studies require a token balance or an active Fusion Simulation Extension subscription. Current access and terms can vary, so check Autodesk’s account and subscription information rather than assuming a universal cost or entitlement. What the Fluid Path note does—and does not—establish
The Fusion Simulation Extension help page says Fusion Insider Program members can try a new Fluid Path study. It does not specify the study’s public release status, scope, or general availability. That note is not evidence that Fusion has released a general-purpose CFD or airflow study; verify availability and capabilities with Autodesk before relying on it for a project.
