Takashiro is a regional Treasure Hunt entry in the Forza Horizon 6 Festival Playlist, not the name of the separate Forzathon Weekly Challenge. Its objective is a clue-and-chest search: interpret the photo clue, perform the action it implies, enter the resulting search circle and smash the treasure chest. The Weekly Challenge uses a different, multi-step activity checklist. In the sourced Takashiro and recurring Treasure Hunt reports, the reward is 100,000 credits and 3 Festival Playlist points.
Because the Festival Playlist rolls over every Thursday at 14:30 UTC, a chest location, clue and reward should always be identified by series, season and the date on which you read them. A location guide without that timestamp can be describing an expired playlist entry.

What the Takashiro Treasure Hunt is
Takashiro is the region named in one rotating Festival Playlist Treasure Hunt. The wording reproduced for the entry is Follow the Photo Clue to Discover the Treasure!
The region name identifies the hunt’s area; it is not a vehicle, a permanent collectible category or the title of the Weekly Challenge.
The hunt follows a compact loop. The Playlist gives you a riddle or photo clue. You infer the car, place or activity represented by that clue, complete the required action, and the game reveals a search circle. You then drive into that circle and locate a smashable chest. Breaking the chest completes the hunt and awards its Playlist progress.

The archive of weekly hunts describes one active chest per week. At the Thursday rollover, the current entry is replaced. That is why a screenshot or video can be accurate for its original week and still be useless for a later Takashiro rotation.
How to complete a Takashiro hunt
1. Open the current Festival Playlist entry
Start from the Festival Playlist and select the Treasure Hunt item for the active season. Read the complete clue, including any photo, rather than relying on the word “Takashiro” alone. The clue is the part that tells you what action reveals the chest search area.
- Record the series and season shown in the Playlist.
- Note the date and time you are checking it, because the entry expires at the weekly rollover.
- Keep the clue visible while you work; the relevant detail may be a vehicle, a landmark, a road type or an activity.
2. Translate the clue into an action
Treasure Hunt clues are solved by doing what the image or wording suggests. The documented loop allows the clue to point to a car, a place or an activity. It is therefore not enough to drive into Takashiro and search randomly: first satisfy the clue’s condition so that the search circle appears.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →If the clue appears vehicle-specific, select the matching car before attempting the action. If it depicts a location or activity, move to the relevant setting and perform that activity as the clue implies. The game’s response is the useful confirmation: once the condition is met, a search circle is shown.
3. Enter the revealed search circle
Use the map and your driving route to reach the circle. The circle is the hunt’s active search area, not a guarantee that the chest is sitting at its centre. Drive through the area methodically and look for the chest’s physical position.
Keep the hunt selected while navigating. Switching to another Playlist objective can make it harder to tell which map marker belongs to the Treasure Hunt, especially when several events or stunts are nearby.

4. Smash the chest
When you see the chest, drive into it to break it. The smash is the completion event. If the chest does not break, approach again from a different angle and check that you are still inside the active search area; do not assume that every object in the circle is the target.
5. Verify the Playlist progress
Return to the Festival Playlist and confirm that the Treasure Hunt is marked complete and that its Festival Playlist points and credits have been granted. This check matters when you are working near the Thursday reset: a chest completed after the entry changes may count toward a different week, or the old chest may no longer be active.
Takashiro versus the Forzathon Weekly Challenge
A Series 3 Spring report lists the Takashiro Treasure Hunt and the Forzathon Weekly Challenge “Racing Spirit” as separate Playlist items. The Takashiro walkthrough also treats the regional chest as its own activity. They may appear in the same seasonal menu, but they test different skills and use different completion logic.
| Comparison point | Takashiro Treasure Hunt | Forzathon Weekly Challenge |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | A regional Treasure Hunt entry named for Takashiro. | A separate Forzathon challenge; Series 3 Spring lists “Racing Spirit.” |
| Objective format | Interpret a clue, perform the implied action, enter a revealed search circle and smash one chest. | Complete a sequence of objectives presented as a multi-step activity checklist. |
| Navigation | Clue-driven travel to a search circle in or around the named region. | Follow the challenge’s own objectives, which can send you through different event or activity menus. |
| Completion object | One physical, smashable weekly chest. | The checklist itself; it is not completed by finding the Takashiro chest. |
| Reward evidence in the cited reports | 100,000 credits and 3 Festival Playlist points. | The cited Takashiro reports do not establish the Weekly Challenge’s reward figure. |
| Reset behavior | The active chest entry is replaced at the Thursday 14:30 UTC Playlist rollover. | It follows the Playlist’s seasonal schedule, but its checklist is a different item from the Treasure Hunt. |
The practical test is simple: if the task begins with a photo or riddle and ends with a chest, you are working on the Treasure Hunt. If it presents several activities to complete in order, you are working on the Weekly Challenge. Completing one does not substitute for the other.
What the Takashiro clue does—and does not—tell you
The phrase Follow the Photo Clue to Discover the Treasure!
tells you the hunt is clue-led, but it is not a permanent coordinate. The clue must be interpreted in the context of the active series and season. A photo may be reused in a guide, while the Playlist entry and its availability are tied to a particular weekly rotation.
- It does tell you: the route to the chest starts with the pictured or described condition.
- It does not tell you: that Takashiro is the Weekly Challenge, that every season uses the same chest position, or that a historical guide remains active after the rollover.
- It requires: a current Festival Playlist entry and the action that reveals the search circle.
For that reason, a reliable location answer should state the series, season and date read before giving directions. Without those details, “the Takashiro chest” is ambiguous.

Rewards, credits and Playlist points
The recurring reward figure reported for sourced FH6 Treasure Hunts is 100,000 CR and 3 Festival Playlist points. A Series 3 Spring report independently lists the Takashiro reward as 3 points plus 100,000 Cr. These are the figures to use for the cited Takashiro rotation, not a universal promise that every future Playlist will retain identical rewards.
The archive does not confirm an XP amount for these hunts, so an XP number should not be added to the reward description. Credits and Playlist points are separate outcomes: credits are spendable currency, while Playlist points contribute to seasonal progress and its associated rewards.
Check the completion state in the Playlist after the chest breaks. If the points are not visible immediately, allow the game to finish registering the activity, then reopen the Playlist. If the entry has rolled over during the attempt, verify which season is displayed before assuming the reward failed.

When the Treasure Hunt resets
The Festival Playlist rollover is Thursday at 14:30 UTC. At that time, the active hunt is replaced and the old chest is no longer the current Playlist entry. The exact local clock time depends on your time zone and any seasonal clock changes, so use 14:30 UTC as the reference rather than a fixed local hour.
- Read the series and season shown in the Playlist.
- Convert Thursday 14:30 UTC to your local time if you are planning a last-minute completion.
- Finish the clue action and smash the chest before that rollover.
- Reopen the Playlist afterward to confirm that the points belong to the intended season.
Series 6 provides a useful date anchor for the game’s current release context: the official update was scheduled for Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox app for PC and Steam ahead of the Horizon Meets Festival Playlist beginning 8 October 2026 at 2:30 PM UTC. That launch time is not the weekly Treasure Hunt reset; the recurring reset remains Thursday at 14:30 UTC.
Treasure Hunts are not Treasure Cars
Weekly Treasure Hunts and Treasure Cars use similar language but are different systems. The weekly hunt is completed by smashing the rotating Festival Playlist chest. Treasure Cars are permanent exploration collectibles. The Treasure Hunter achievement is tied to collecting nine Treasure Cars, not to completing nine weekly chests.

The official starting guidance describes exploration systems in which Stamp progression can reveal Treasure Car clues and Barn Find rumors. Those discoveries persist as part of the game’s broader progression. A Takashiro chest, by contrast, is a time-limited Playlist objective that disappears as the active entry changes.

If a guide tells you to search for a permanent collectible or mentions the nine-car achievement, it is discussing Treasure Cars rather than the Takashiro Playlist hunt.
Why the Weekly Challenge feels broader
Forza Horizon 6’s progression overview includes road, dirt and cross-country races, Time Attack Circuits, Drag Meets, PR Stunts and Bonus Boards. Those event types explain the Weekly Challenge’s checklist character: a single challenge can ask you to move between several kinds of driving activity. The Takashiro hunt compresses its decision-making into clue interpretation, one trigger action and one chest search.
This difference affects how you plan your session:
- Choose the Treasure Hunt when you want a short, location-focused objective and can spend time interpreting a clue.
- Choose the Weekly Challenge when you are prepared to complete several listed activities, possibly across different event types.
- Do both if you are pursuing the full Playlist; neither item automatically completes the other.
Troubleshooting a Takashiro hunt
The search circle has not appeared
The clue condition has probably not registered. Re-read the photo and check the car, place or activity it implies. Make sure you performed the action rather than merely arriving at the location. If the clue is vehicle-related, verify that the intended car is the one you are driving when the action is attempted.
The map shows several possible areas
Use the active Treasure Hunt marker and the region named by the Playlist as your filters. Do not treat an old video’s pin as authoritative unless its series, season and date match your entry. The chest’s position is tied to the current rotation, not to a permanent Takashiro coordinate.

The entry disappeared
Check the Playlist’s series and season. The Thursday 14:30 UTC rollover replaces the old entry, so an unfinished chest can cease to be the active objective. A new week requires following the new clue rather than continuing to search for the previous chest.
The reward is unclear
Use the completion screen and Playlist progress as the authority for your current rotation. The cited recurring figure is 100,000 credits plus 3 points; an XP figure is not established. Also check that you are not looking at the reward for the separate Weekly Challenge.
Platform and equipment requirements
Forza Horizon 6’s cited Series 6 update is available on Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox app for PC and Steam. A compatible controller or racing wheel can make driving activities more comfortable, but neither accessory is required to interpret the clue, reveal the circle or smash the chest. The essential requirement is access to the game and its current Festival Playlist.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsA practical weekly checklist
- Open the Festival Playlist and identify the Treasure Hunt entry, series and season.
- Write down the Thursday 14:30 UTC rollover deadline for that entry.
- Read the full clue and inspect its photo.
- Infer whether it points to a car, place or activity.
- Perform the implied action until the search circle appears.
- Drive into the circle and locate the smashable chest.
- Break the chest and wait for the completion state.
- Confirm the 100,000-credit and 3-point reward when that figure applies to the cited rotation.
- Return to the Playlist before the rollover if the entry still shows incomplete.
Frequently asked questions
Is Takashiro the name of the Weekly Challenge?
No. Takashiro is the region named by a Treasure Hunt entry. The Series 3 Spring report lists the separate Weekly Challenge “Racing Spirit.”
Can I find the Takashiro chest without solving the photo clue?
The documented loop requires the clue’s action to reveal the search circle. Searching the region alone is not the supported completion method.
How many Festival Playlist points does the hunt give?
The cited Takashiro and recurring-hunt reports list 3 Festival Playlist points and 100,000 credits. Confirm the active season because Playlist rewards can be associated with a specific rotation.
Does completing the chest count toward the Treasure Hunter achievement?
No. That achievement is described as collecting nine permanent Treasure Cars, which are separate from the weekly Playlist chest.
