A reliable Fortnite Sprite checklist has to record the exact variant, season, patch and availability state—not just whether you found a character once. The latest detailed roster snapshot available for patch v42.10 (verified September 5–7, 2026) reports 16 current base Sprites and 47 obtainable entries in Chapter 7 Season 4, while preserving 117 Season 3 entries as an archive. Epic Games says Season 3 collections carry into the new Sprite Garden, so your old collection should be tracked separately from the active-season hunt.
Use the checklist below as a structure for owned, missing and mastered entries. Recheck the active total against the newest Epic update notes before treating any number as current: Fortnite patches can add variants, change availability or move entries into the archive.

What a complete Sprite checklist records
Record one row for every released variant, not one row per Sprite family. A family such as Water can have several distinct collectible entries, and owning one does not automatically mark the others as owned or mastered.
- Sprite family: The character family, such as Water, Duck or Zero Point.
- Rarity: The tier shown for that exact released entry. The Season 3 reference guide uses Rare, Epic, Legendary and Mythic tiers.
- Variant name: Names include Base, Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, Gem, Holofoil, Cube and Quack, plus season-specific names introduced later.
- Owned: Tick this only for the exact variant you successfully collected and extracted.
- Mastered: Tick this only when the owned entry meets the tracker’s mastery requirement. The v41.30 tracker defines mastery as an owned entry saved at Level 5.
- Acquisition cue: Add a pedestal, point-of-interest or other location note when your source provides one.
- Season, patch and availability: Identify when the entry was released and whether it is obtainable, archived or unavailable.
Keeping these fields separate prevents the most common error: counting a family as complete after finding only its base form.

Which season and patch does this checklist cover?
| Scope | Version or date | Reported entries | How to use the number |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chapter 7 Season 4 active roster | v42.10, verified September 5–7, 2026 | 16 current base Sprites; 47 obtainable entries | Use for the active hunt, but verify against the newest Epic update notes. |
| Season 3 collection archive | Preserved when Season 4 began | 117 entries | Keep as historical progress; do not mix archived entries into the active Missing total. |
| Earlier tracker snapshot | v41.30, verified August 8, 2026 | 25 Sprite families; 117 released variants | Useful for comparing definitions and historical progress, not as a guaranteed current roster. |
The different totals are not necessarily contradictory. They refer to different patches and counting scopes: one snapshot separates 47 currently obtainable Season 4 entries from the 117-entry Season 3 archive, while the earlier snapshot counted 117 released variants and 25 families at v41.30. Label every saved or printed checklist with its season and patch.
Epic Games support states that “Sprites will continue into the next season, with a whole new generation to keep adding to your collection and mastering.” It also says that “The Sprites you’ve collected in Season 3: Runners will be immortalized in the new Sprite Garden – an island getaway where you can play with your Sprites, visit friends’ garden sanctuaries, and showcase your entire collection.” That makes an archive column important: a Season 3 entry can remain part of your overall collection even when it is no longer an active Season 4 target.
Season 3 family index for an archived checklist
The Season 3 reference guide identifies 16 families. Use this index to check that your archive has a section for each family, then add one row for every exact released variant shown by your season-labeled tracker.

The guide describes the four common forms as a Season 3 pattern, not a promise that every family has every form in every patch. Newer entries can use names such as Gem, Holofoil, Cube or Quack, and current-season entries may use entirely different names. Your tracker should therefore copy the exact released names rather than generating variants automatically.
Owned, Missing and Mastered: use three different states
Owned
Owned means the exact released variant is in your collection. Finding a Sprite during a match is not enough: the current detailed tracker explains that you must extract it before the match ends for the find to become permanent. Mark the row after successful extraction, not when you first see the Sprite.
Mastered
Mastered is a progression state applied to an owned entry. In the v41.30 tracker, an entry is mastered when it is owned and saved at Level 5. A mastered checkmark should never substitute for the owned checkmark; it is a second state that shows additional progress.
Missing
Missing means a currently released, obtainable entry that is not owned. Exclude unavailable variants from Missing totals. Otherwise a tracker can report an impossible backlog made up of entries you cannot collect in the current patch.
Recommended Free Tools
| State | Mark it when | Count it as |
|---|---|---|
| Owned | Extraction succeeded and the exact variant is saved | Collected progress |
| Mastered | Owned entry reaches the tracker’s mastery condition, such as saved Level 5 | Advanced progress |
| Missing | Entry is released and obtainable but not owned | Next-hunt target |
| Unavailable | Entry is not obtainable in the selected season or patch | Neither owned nor missing for the active total |
Step-by-step workflow for every play session
- Select the correct roster. Open the checklist labeled with the season and patch you are playing. Choose the active Chapter 7 Season 4 roster for current targets and the Season 3 archive for historical completion.
- Hide unavailable entries. Apply the tracker’s available or obtainable filter before reading the Missing count. Leave archived entries visible only when you are auditing your lifetime collection.
- Plan one or more targets. Filter to Needed or Missing, then choose a family and variant. Add the location cue supplied by your guide. A July 27, 2026 Season 3 guide describes fixed pedestal locations; treat those locations, and any one-Sprite carrying limit, as guide information for that patch rather than permanent rules.
- Collect the Sprite. Find the pedestal or other listed location and pick up the target. If the game allows only one Sprite to be carried under the patch-specific rules you are using, finish that delivery before attempting another.
- Extract before the match ends. A find becomes permanent only after extraction, according to the current tracker guidance. If you are eliminated or leave before extraction, leave Owned unchecked and try again.
- Mark the exact variant. Tick Owned on the row whose name and season match what you extracted. Do not tick every variant in the family.
- Record mastery separately. Once the entry satisfies the tracker’s mastery condition, mark Mastered. For the v41.30 definition, that means the owned entry has been saved at Level 5.
- Export a backup. Save a backup, shareable copy or printed/PDF version after a substantial session. The detailed trackers report local saving plus backup, sharing and print/PDF export; using those features protects progress from a browser reset.
A practical checklist layout
Whether you use a fan-made web tracker, spreadsheet or paper sheet, keep the same columns so totals remain auditable.
| Family | Rarity | Exact variant | Owned | Mastered | Location cue | Season/patch | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Water | As listed for the entry | Base | ☐ | ☐ | Add the verified pedestal or location | Season 3 / patch label | Archive or obtainable |
| Water | As listed for the entry | Gold | ☐ | ☐ | Add the verified pedestal or location | Season 3 / patch label | Archive or obtainable |
| TheBurntPeanut | As listed for the entry | Base | ☐ | ☐ | Add the verified location | Season 3 / patch label | Archive or obtainable |
| Current-season family | As listed for the entry | Exact v42.10 name | ☐ | ☐ | Copy the current tracker cue | Chapter 7 Season 4 / v42.10 | Obtainable or unavailable |
The first rows demonstrate the format, not a complete 117-entry roster. Populate the remaining rows from the exact season-labeled release list; never infer a variant, rarity or location that the list does not state.

How to choose a digital tracker or paper list
| Capability | Why it matters | Minimum standard |
|---|---|---|
| Active-season and archive views | Prevents old entries from inflating current Missing totals | Separate Season 4 obtainable entries from the Season 3 archive |
| Exact variant granularity | Family-level checks hide uncollected forms | One row per released variant |
| Owned and Mastered fields | Mastery is progression, not a duplicate ownership flag | Independent checkboxes or states |
| Unavailable handling | Unavailable entries should not count as Missing | Availability filter or exclusion rule |
| Local save and backup | Browser resets can erase unsaved progress | Export, share and print/PDF options |
| Patch transparency | Counts change after updates | Visible verification date and patch number |
A paper checklist works if you write the patch in the header and reserve a column for availability. A digital list is more convenient for filtering Needed entries and exporting backups, but local saving is not the same as cloud synchronization; keep an external copy.
Common mistakes and fixes
Counting a sighting as a collection
Symptom: Your checklist says Owned, but the entry disappears after the match. Fix: Require successful extraction before checking Owned.
Mixing Season 3 and Season 4 totals
Symptom: The Missing number is much larger than the active roster. Fix: Select the active-season view and keep the 117-entry Season 3 list in an archive section.
Marking a whole family at once
Symptom: Water appears complete even though Gold or Gummy is absent. Fix: Audit every exact variant row individually.
Using an old patch count
Symptom: Your total does not match the game or a newer tracker. Fix: Compare the checklist’s patch label with the latest Epic update notes, then add, archive or relabel entries as appropriate.
Treating unavailable entries as goals
Symptom: Missing never reaches zero because some rows cannot currently be obtained. Fix: Exclude unavailable rows from the active Missing filter while retaining them for historical records.

A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11Losing local progress
Symptom: A browser reset clears your checks. Fix: Export a backup or print/save a PDF after each major session and store the file somewhere separate from the browser.
Optional physical collecting companion
A Fortnite sticker album can be a fun paper companion for screenshots, notes or family collecting, but it is not an in-game Sprite unlock. Treat its checklist as separate from your Fortnite inventory. Edition, region and current retail availability should be verified before purchasing; no current Amazon listing was confirmed for this guide.
Recommended maintenance schedule
- At the start of a season, duplicate the prior checklist and rename it with the new season and patch.
- After each major Fortnite update, check whether new families, variants or availability states were added.
- Keep archived rows visible in a history view but exclude them from active Missing totals.
- After every collection session, confirm extraction, then export a backup.
- When publishing or sharing your list, show the verification date so readers know which totals they are seeing.
This approach gives you three useful answers at once: what you own, what can still be collected now and what you have mastered. It also preserves the Season 3 collection for the Sprite Garden without confusing it with the Chapter 7 Season 4 hunt.
