Fortnite Bounty Quests vs. Regular Quests: Rewards and Progress Compared

Epic does not confirm a current bounty-quest reward advantage. Compare the live quest tiles for rewards and conditions; XP quests progress active passes.

Short answer: Epic’s current public support pages do not confirm “bounty quests” as a formal, currently available quest category, or establish that they pay more XP or progress differently from regular quests. Regular quests have objective-specific rewards, often XP, levels, or cosmetics. To compare a bounty-style objective with a regular quest in your game, check both quest tiles in the current Quests screen and compare their displayed rewards and progress conditions.

What counts as a regular Fortnite quest?

Epic describes quests as objectives completed by playing a Fortnite experience. Each quest has a reward, which may be XP, level-ups, or cosmetic items; the reward depends on the objective rather than following one universal payout. Epic also notes that experiences can have different quests. See Epic’s guide to completing Fortnite quests.

Daily, Weekly, and Seasonal quests are among the XP sources listed by Epic. Their schedules differ: Daily quests reset each day, while Weekly quests refresh on Tuesday. Those are regular quest schedules; they should not be assumed to describe an unverified bounty-style objective. Details are in Epic’s Fortnite XP support page.

Are bounty quests available, and do they give more XP?

“Bounty quest” may mean a bounty-style contract or objective players encounter in a particular Fortnite mode, but Epic’s current public support pages cited here do not identify it as a formal quest category or document its current availability, reward, target rules, timer, or progress conditions. They also do not establish a bounty reward premium over regular quests.

Fortnite eGift Card
  • Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
  • Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
  • If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
  • Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
  • Redemption: Online

That means there is no supported universal answer to whether a bounty pays more XP. Check the current Quests screen for the exact objective and reward in your game. If no bounty-style quest appears there, the official material cited here does not establish that one is currently available for your mode or build.

How quest XP affects passes

When a quest awards XP, that XP can advance all of your active Fortnite passes simultaneously, according to Epic. This applies to XP earned across Fortnite experiences; it does not mean that a bounty objective has a special pass bonus. Epic explains the shared progression in its XP guidance and Battle Pass progression guidance.

Pass progression is separate from access to every reward. Epic says each pass must be purchased separately to receive its premium rewards, and some Battle Pass rewards require reaching a particular level and claiming earlier rewards first. Those conditions affect what you can claim, not whether quest XP is earned.

Compare a bounty-style task with a regular quest in-game

Because the official support information does not publish a fixed bounty-versus-regular comparison, use the live quest tiles rather than relying on old reward lists or assumptions:

Fortnite Physical Gift Card
  • An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
  • If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
  • The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
  • Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.

  1. Open Fortnite’s current Quests screen and locate the bounty-style objective and a regular quest you want to compare. Epic says available quests can be viewed there.
  2. Read each objective and note the experience or mode in which progress is accepted; Epic says quests vary by experience.
  3. Compare the reward shown on each tile. Do not infer a set XP amount from the quest label alone.
  4. Check the visible counter, target, timer, and completion condition for each objective. The official materials cited here do not establish universal bounty rules.
  5. Check the schedule or expiry shown in-game. Daily quests reset daily and Weekly quests refresh Tuesday, but those schedules should not be applied to a bounty unless its own details support that.
  6. If the displayed reward is XP, count it as progress toward your active passes; check each pass’s own requirements before assuming a reward is claimable.

Keep historical quest examples in context

Epic’s v10.00 patch notes from 2019 describe mission and quest objectives with rewards including Battle Stars, XP, and cosmetics, with examples tied to particular modes. Those notes are useful as a snapshot of an earlier version, not evidence of current Battle Royale bounty availability or today’s reward values: Epic’s v10.00 patch notes.

A separate rule for V-Bucks Quest Packs

Some V-Bucks Quest Packs use Global Daily Bonus Goals. Epic says only three of these goals are available per day and that they can be completed in any Fortnite experience. This is a pack-specific mechanic, not a general rule for regular quests or bounty-style objectives. See Epic’s Quest Pack V-Bucks guidance.
