Guides as of October 2026 report four ways to get one (eliminations, Rare Chests, Cheat Codes, and trading) and name particular locations to search for each variant.
What the Bounty Hunter effect does
The Bounty Hunter label is a variant, not a separate Sprite type. The variant keeps the ability of the base Sprite it is attached to, and it layers an elimination-triggered chance to find Sprites on top. It does not replace or weaken that base ability, so a Bounty Hunter variant is useful for its original job and for the extra chance.

How Sprite XP works on Bounty Hunter variants
According to the Sprite Checklist tracker, Bounty Hunter variants gain Sprite XP from eliminations. Some Sprites follow special XP rules instead, so check the entry for the specific Sprite you are leveling before assuming it behaves the same way.
The elimination drop rate is not confirmed
The games.gg guide (2026) gives a 7% chance that an elimination produces a Sprite. Sprite Checklist disagrees with that figure: it marks the elimination drop rate as unpublished and says Epic has not released one. Treat 7% as one guide’s estimate rather than a verified rate. The accurate statement today is that eliminations can produce another Sprite, and the exact chance is unconfirmed.

How to get a Bounty Hunter Sprite
Beebom’s guide lists four routes:
- Eliminating opponents
- Opening Rare Chests
- Entering Cheat Codes
- Trading with other players
Beebom also says that Temple Vaults contain Rare Chests and Cheat Codes, and it recommends attending Sprite Events when spawn rates are boosted. These are the guide’s own tips. Finding a Sprite happens entirely in the game, so no physical product or purchase is involved.
Where to search for each variant
Beebom’s guide associates the variants below with specific locations. Treat them as places to search. The guide does not establish that these locations guarantee a spawn.
| Variant | Locations named in the Beebom guide |
|---|---|
| 8-Bit | Geno’s Machine |
| Onigiri | Golden Grove |
| Overshield | Shaken Sanctuary and Lifty Lodge |
| Pond | Heatwave Harbor, Sunken Shores, and Cluster Coast |
| Shadow, Sonic, and Tails | Green Hill Zone |
| Storm Scout | Reality’s Reign |
| X-Ray | Chopped Shop |
Roster size and release timing
The two main sources do not describe the roster the same way, so cite each with its date.
