The official material does not publish a complete feature-by-feature comparison between the PC/Mac and Console editions. It does establish that they are separate listings with different control targets, so choose the product that matches your device and preferred interface.

When FM27 releases and which platforms are supported
Football Manager 27 launches globally on 10 November 2026, according to Sports Interactive and FootballManager.com’s launch announcement.

The platform FAQ says versions are not scheduled for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One X or Xbox One S at the time of publication. It also says the game will not release on the Xbox One family at that time. If you own an older Xbox One console, do not expect the Series-console Game Pass listing to install on it.
Which FM27 version should you install on a Windows PC?
Choose the PC/Mac edition for the full computer interface
For a Windows computer, the correct Game Pass choice is the listing identified as Football Manager 27 (PC/Mac). This is the edition associated with the computer release and is the natural choice for mouse-and-keyboard play. It is the product you should select when the Xbox app or Microsoft Store presents more than one FM27 result.

Why the Console listing can appear in the same app
The Xbox PC app may show both the PC/Mac edition and FM27 Console. Sports Interactive describes the Console product separately and identifies it as controller-oriented. The official FAQ nevertheless says PC Game Pass and Ultimate subscribers can also play FM27 Console through the Microsoft Store or Xbox PC app. The cited information does not provide a complete explanation of whether every Console feature is local, streamed or dependent on a particular Xbox service, so treat the listing’s own platform and play buttons as authoritative for your account and device.

Do not use the listing title alone to infer feature parity
The two products should not be assumed to have identical menus, database scope, controls or modes. No full feature matrix is published in the supplied official information. If your priority is the traditional computer interface, install PC/Mac; if you specifically want the streamlined console interface and have a supported Xbox route, select Console.
How to install FM27 with PC Game Pass or Ultimate on Windows
Use the Xbox app for PC or the Microsoft Store, signed in to the Microsoft account that owns the subscription. The following sequence follows SEGA Support’s installation guidance and the product distinctions in Sports Interactive’s FAQ.
- Install or open the Xbox app for PC. If it is already installed, open it and allow it to update before searching.
- Sign in with the subscribed Microsoft account. The account must be the one that has PC Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. A Windows account signed into a different Microsoft identity can make the game appear unavailable.
- Search for “Football Manager 27”. Use the full title rather than searching only for “FM27”, which can return multiple products or informational results.
- Select the PC/Mac listing. Confirm that the product is identified as the PC/Mac edition before starting the download. The app may display FM27 Console as a separate result.
- Choose Install. Select the destination drive if the app asks where to store the game.
- Wait for the download and installation. SEGA Support states that once the game is downloaded, installation begins automatically. Keep the Xbox app open long enough for the process to finish.
- Launch from the Xbox app or your installed-game shortcut. If the app shows more than one FM27 entry, launch the same PC/Mac product you installed rather than the Console listing.
If you intended to use the Console product on PC
PC Game Pass and Ultimate subscribers are expressly included in the FAQ’s statement that FM27 Console can be played through the Microsoft Store or Xbox PC app. Search for the Console listing separately and read the app’s device and play requirements before installing. The official sources do not publish a single universal set of Console-versus-cloud steps for every PC configuration, so an unavailable Play button or a platform warning is an account or service eligibility issue rather than evidence that the PC/Mac edition is missing.

How to install FM27 Console on an Xbox
FM27 Console is the product intended for supported Xbox hardware. The launch information names Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox handheld devices; it does not list the Xbox One family.

- Start the game from My games & apps. Use the Console entry, not a PC/Mac listing, when choosing what to launch.
The launch announcement identifies FM27 Console as a day-one title for Game Pass Console subscribers. Ultimate subscribers receive the Console access described by the FAQ, subject to the Xbox service and platform conditions attached to their account.
What PlayStation 5 owners need to know
PlayStation 5 is listed as a platform for FM27 Console, but Game Pass is an Xbox and Microsoft subscription. The cited official information does not describe a Game Pass installation path or a Game Pass entitlement for PS5.
When Sports Interactive publishes the final PS5 product page, use the PlayStation Store listing and the PlayStation account that will play the game. Do not assume that owning Game Pass on another platform transfers the Console edition to PS5; no cross-platform entitlement is established in the available information.

The FAQ identifies FM27 PC/Mac as the computer edition included for PC Game Pass and Ultimate and names the Microsoft Store and Xbox PC app as the access routes. If you use a Mac, verify the FM27 PC/Mac listing and the supported storefront instructions shown for your account at launch. Do not install a Console listing merely because it appears in an Xbox search result; it is a separate product designed around console controls.
Is FM27 Mobile included with Game Pass?
No. FM27 Mobile is a separate release for iOS and Android distributed through Netflix. It is not the PC/Mac edition, it is not FM27 Console, and the launch announcement does not identify it as a Game Pass benefit.
That means a Game Pass subscription alone does not establish access to Mobile. Mobile availability follows Netflix’s app and account requirements, while the PC and Console editions follow the Microsoft Store, Xbox app, Xbox console or PlayStation routes described above.

Common installation and entitlement problems
The app says you need to buy the game
Check the signed-in Microsoft account first. Sign out of the Xbox app and sign back in with the account that owns PC Game Pass or Ultimate. Then reopen the product page. If you are on an Xbox console, check the account selected in the Game Pass library rather than relying on a different account used for the Microsoft Store.

You installed the wrong FM27 listing
Open the Xbox app’s installed-games view and inspect the product name. The computer edition is labelled PC/Mac; the separate product is labelled Console. Uninstalling the wrong listing and selecting the intended edition is preferable to assuming that one installation contains both products.
The download finishes but installation does not appear to start
SEGA Support says installation begins once the download completes. Confirm that the Xbox app still shows the title in its installation queue, that the selected drive has available space, and that the app has not paused downloads. Restart the app and resume the queue if necessary.
The game cannot be found on an older Xbox
The platform FAQ does not list Xbox One, Xbox One X or Xbox One S for FM27 at publication. A missing listing on one of those consoles is therefore consistent with the stated platform plan, not evidence that your Game Pass account is defective.

Game Pass is not described as a PS5 delivery route. Look for the final FM27 Console product in the PlayStation Store instead, and do not expect the Xbox subscription library to populate the PS5 storefront.
You expected the mobile game in your Game Pass library
Search the Netflix app and its supported mobile catalog. FM27 Mobile follows the Netflix route, while Game Pass covers the PC/Mac and Console products identified above.
Release-day checklist
- Confirm that your device is supported: Windows PC/Mac for the computer edition, Xbox Series X|S or a listed Xbox handheld for Console, or PS5 for the Console product through its own storefront.
- Use the Microsoft account that actually holds PC Game Pass, Ultimate or Game Pass Console.
- On Windows, select the PC/Mac listing for mouse-and-keyboard play.
- On Xbox, search specifically for FM27 Console.
- Allow the Xbox app or Microsoft Store to finish downloading before expecting the game to launch.
- Remember the global release date: 10 November 2026.
- Use Netflix rather than Game Pass if your target is FM27 Mobile.
What the official information does—and does not—confirm
It confirms the Game Pass products, storefronts, release date and supported platform families. It does not publish a complete PC/Mac-versus-Console feature matrix, Mac-specific installation instructions, detailed cloud-play rules for every region, or a Game Pass-to-PS5 entitlement. Those details should be checked in the product listing and service notices shown for your account when FM27 launches.
