On a computer, use the Loop control in the expanded playlist box; on Android, check that Loop has not been tapped a second time to switch to single-video repeat. On a TV or game console, set Repeat to “Playlist,” not “Currently playing.”
First, identify what is restarting
YouTube has separate playback behaviors that can look similar. The fix depends on which one you are seeing:

- A playlist: Use the playlist’s Loop control to repeat the playlist and move through its items.
- One video: A video-level Loop setting repeats only that video.
- Autoplay: When the current video ends, YouTube plays a related video; this is not the same as selecting the next item in a playlist.
- A live broadcast or its replay: A live stream has different playback behavior from a playlist. A replay is a video, so if it is in a playlist, the playlist controls apply.
YouTube Help documents looping either a video or a playlist, but the controls and repeat scope differ. YouTube’s loop instructions describe the playlist and video controls.

- Open a video that is part of the playlist.
- Expand the playlist shown to the right of the video.
- Click the Loop control in the playlist box. This repeats the playlist rather than only the current video.
Do not use the video’s right-click menu and choose Loop if you want the next playlist item to play: that option repeats the current video.

Check the repeat mode on Android
- Start playing the playlist.
- Find and tap Loop in the playlist control box.
- Check the icon’s state. Tapping Loop a second time switches to repeating only the current video; a “1” appears in the control.
If the same item starts again, make sure the control is not showing the “1” single-video repeat state. YouTube’s Android loop instructions describe this toggle.
Set playlist repeat on a TV or game console
- Start the playlist and open the playback controls using the remote or controller.
- Select Repeat until the state reads “Repeat • Playlist.”
- If it reads “Repeat • Currently playing,” change the mode; that setting repeats one video.
Autoplay is not playlist looping
Autoplay plays another related video after the current video ends. It does not choose the next item in a specific playlist loop. If you want a playlist to continue through its own items, use the playlist Loop control instead. YouTube describes Autoplay as a way to decide what to watch next; its setting can differ between devices. See YouTube’s Autoplay help.

If the video is part of a live stream
A live broadcast is not an ordinary playlist video. YouTube’s DVR feature lets viewers pause, rewind, and continue during a live stream, but DVR may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. That concerns pausing and resuming a live broadcast, not playlist repeat. See YouTube’s live DVR guidance.

After a live stream ends, the channel may post highlights or a replay as videos. If you are watching a replay inside a playlist, use the playlist Loop control described above. If an actual live broadcast unexpectedly starts over, the available YouTube guidance does not identify a specific fix for that symptom; the playlist repeat steps may not apply. If the playlist still repeats one item
- Confirm the repeat scope: Look for the playlist Loop control, not the individual video’s Loop command.
- On Android, check for “1”: That indicates the current video is repeating, not the full playlist.
- On TV or console, read the state label: It should say “Repeat • Playlist,” not “Repeat • Currently playing.”
- Check what is playing: Autoplay, a live broadcast, and a replay are not interchangeable with a playlist.
- Consider interface differences: The exact instructions above are documented for computers, Android, and TV/game consoles. The retrieved YouTube Help instructions do not establish iPhone or iPad navigation labels, and steps may differ in an embedded player or another app version.
If the ordinary playlist control is set correctly but the symptom continues, note the device, operating system, YouTube app version, and whether the video is live or a replay when seeking more specific help.
