For an FFmpeg stream to YouTube Live, use H.264 video with constant bitrate (CBR), AAC audio, and a two-second keyframe interval; choose a bitrate that fits the resolution, frame rate, and upload connection. To repeat one file indefinitely, put -stream_loop -1 before its -i input. A multi-file playlist needs a separate concat setup and testing. Create the event in YouTube Live Control Room, use its stream URL and secret key, prefer RTMPS, and test the full workflow before leaving it unattended.
Choose settings for YouTube Live
YouTube’s current encoder guidance accepts RTMP or RTMPS ingestion, H.264, H.265 (HEVC), or AV1 video, up to 60 fps, AAC or MP3 audio, and CBR encoding. For broad compatibility, H.264 and AAC are a practical baseline. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds; it recommends RTMPS when available for encrypted delivery. Match the output to your source rather than increasing resolution or bitrate beyond what the media and connection can support. YouTube encoder settings

Bitrate examples from YouTube
The figures below are YouTube’s current H.264 ingestion settings, accessed in 2026. They are recommendations for sending a stream to YouTube—not measurements of a particular channel’s picture quality or a guarantee that your internet connection can sustain them.
| Output | Minimum bitrate setting | Recommended bitrate setting | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | 3 Mbps | 8 Mbps | YouTube encoder settings, accessed 2026 |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps | YouTube encoder settings, accessed 2026 |
These examples cover only the listed resolutions and frame rate. For another output, consult YouTube’s current table. Check your actual upload capacity and leave headroom for normal network variation; the available upload rate must sustain the encoder’s outgoing bitrate over time.

Prepare the Telugu playlist files
FFmpeg’s -stream_loop -1 input option repeats one input indefinitely. It does not create a playlist from several separate files. For multiple videos, the concat demuxer is one available approach, but whether you can stream-copy depends on the files having compatible stream properties. If codecs, dimensions, frame rates, audio layouts, or other relevant properties differ, normalize or re-encode the material as needed and inspect transitions. Telugu-language content does not change these media compatibility requirements.
FFmpeg options are order-sensitive: input options apply to the next input, so place -stream_loop -1 before the relevant -i. FFmpeg documents the loop option and command-line option behavior in its command-line documentation; see its formats documentation for the concat demuxer. The exact command depends on your files, FFmpeg build, and whether you stream-copy or re-encode. Do not treat a single command as safe for every playlist.

Check before building the output
- Confirm each video’s dimensions, frame rate, video and audio codecs, and audio layout.
- Choose an output resolution and frame rate supported by the source material and intended stream.
- Decide whether the files are compatible for stream copy; otherwise plan a consistent re-encode.
- Play through file boundaries in a test to catch gaps, frozen frames, abrupt audio changes, or failed transitions.
Create the YouTube event and protect its key
- Open YouTube Live Control Room’s encoder setup and create or schedule the live event.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that event into your FFmpeg publishing configuration. YouTube describes the key as the password and address that tell the encoder where to send the feed and let YouTube accept it.
- Use the RTMPS URL if your FFmpeg setup supports it. YouTube describes RTMPS as RTMP over TLS/SSL and explains how to obtain the secure URL in its RTMPS instructions.
- Keep the stream key private. Anyone who obtains it may be able to publish to the associated ingest destination.
- Configure FFmpeg’s output target with the event’s URL and key, then start with a test rather than assuming the session is ready for continuous operation.
Test the stream before relying on it
YouTube Help says, “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.” Use representative Telugu playlist material with both audio and motion, and test the transitions between files as well as the opening. Check that the event receives the feed, audio is present, the picture is stable, and the intended loop or playlist proceeds correctly. Watch YouTube’s stream-health notices and messages while testing and during operation. YouTube’s encoder settings page recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the planned stream and monitoring stream health. YouTube encoder settings

Plan for unattended operation and interruptions
An FFmpeg process must run somewhere continuously, and the host must retain a stable network connection and access to the media. If it is running on a home computer, shutting that computer down or losing its connection ends the local publishing process. Plan how you will monitor the process and restart it if it stops.

FFmpeg documents network-input reconnection options, including reconnecting after network errors and treating end-of-file as an error for live or endless inputs. Those options are not a complete broadcast supervisor and do not establish that a YouTube publishing session will automatically recover after every interruption. A 24/7 deployment needs monitoring and an explicit restart or recovery plan. See FFmpeg protocol documentation.
YouTube’s encoder setup page says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish normal archive behavior for an uninterrupted 24/7 stream. Check YouTube’s current guidance for the event you plan to run. Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder

Check account status, copyright, and content policies
The setup guidance cited here does not settle whether a particular account is eligible to run a continuous prerecorded broadcast, or whether a specific Telugu playlist complies with YouTube policies. Check the current Live Control Room status and applicable YouTube policies before planning a 24/7 event. Confirm you have the necessary rights to every recording, song, performance, and other material in the playlist; a language or devotional purpose does not itself establish permission. Do not assume that successfully connecting FFmpeg means a stream or its content is policy-compliant.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsTroubleshoot common failures
- YouTube does not receive the feed: Recheck the event’s stream URL and key, confirm that you copied the values for the intended event, and verify that the publishing target uses RTMPS correctly if selected.
- Stream health reports instability: Check whether the outgoing bitrate is sustainable on the actual upload connection. Lower the output bitrate or resolution if necessary, then test again.
- The playlist stops after one video:
-stream_loop -1repeats a single input, not a multi-file list. Use a compatible concat workflow for multiple files and confirm its behavior with a test. - Picture or sound breaks at a file boundary: The files may have incompatible stream properties. Inspect the media and normalize or re-encode the playlist to consistent output characteristics; test transitions again.
- The broadcast stops after a network or process interruption: Reconnection options alone do not guarantee recovery of the publishing session. Monitor FFmpeg and YouTube’s stream health, and use a defined restart and recovery procedure.
