EA says the Transfer Market has been rebuilt with active club bidding and player values enhanced by TransferRoom. Negotiations can include performance and buy-back clauses, while Dynamic OVR reflects form, morale and fitness. A static database overall therefore may not match the rating you see in your save, and a listed value should not be treated as a guaranteed fee. The shortlist figures below come from FAFIFA’s 20 August 2026 FC 27 database update. It covers 19,042 players across 54 leagues; EA’s broader game-scale announcement cites 21,000+ players, 800+ clubs and national teams, 140 stadiums and 35+ leagues, which is a different scope from that Career Mode database snapshot. Who are the best cheap players in FC 27 Career Mode?
Use the budget bands as discovery tools, not promises that a club will sell at the displayed value. FAFIFA’s “Bargains under 15 M€” ranking applies two filters in its 20 August 2026 snapshot: potential of at least 80 and market value no higher than €15 million. It returns 1,386 players. Low-cost development prospect: Alan Alcaraz
FAFIFA lists Alan Alcaraz as a 16-year-old CM/CDM at Argentinos Juniors, with 58 overall, 85 potential, a €912,000 value and a €1,000 wage in the 20 August 2026 update. That combination makes him a development prospect, not a ready-made starter: the substantial gap between current overall and database potential implies a need for playing time and development. Choosing between a prospect and an immediate contributor
The available dated examples establish a clear prospect but do not provide a comparable named shortlist of proven starters or rotation players with current ratings, roles and costs. For those needs, use the under-€15 million ranking to filter candidates, then compare current overall and role-specific attributes with your squad’s gap. A player meeting the potential and value filters may still be too expensive for your club, unsuitable for your tactics or unavailable in your save.

Which free agents can I sign?
FAFIFA’s free-agent ranking lists 238 players without a club in its 20 August 2026 snapshot, including Mohamed Salah, Giorgian De Arrascaeta and Fabinho among its leading names. An out-of-contract player has no transfer fee under FAFIFA’s interpretation, but signing still involves wages and a possible signing-on bonus. A famous free agent can therefore be beyond a modest wage budget even though the transfer fee is zero. Compare the full contract cost with your finances before making an offer.
How to decide whether a target is affordable and fits
- Immediate ability: Check current overall and the attributes relevant to the role you need. Potential alone does not tell you whether a player can contribute now.
- Development outlook: Treat potential as a database estimate, not a promised rating. Consider the gap from current overall and whether your squad can offer minutes and coaching.
- Total cost: For a transfer, account for the negotiated fee and wages; for a free agent, account for wages and any signing-on bonus.
- Squad fit: Match position, age and tactical role to the vacancy. A low listed value is not useful if the player does not solve your problem.
- Availability: Check club and contract status in the latest squad update and your own save before planning around a player.
- Negotiation context: Active bidding, clauses and the rebuilt market can change the deal. Confirm the actual terms presented in your save.
How current are the ratings and values?
The named player data and rankings above are tied to FAFIFA’s 20 August 2026 update, not a live guarantee. EA says player information can change with squad updates, and its ratings page specifies that its table reflects launch Gold, Silver and Bronze Ultimate Team items rather than live-form updates in other modes. Treat the database as a way to find candidates; the save’s current details and the result of negotiations determine whether a signing works for your club.
