Flexibits announced Fantastical for Googlebook on October 5, 2026. It is a calendar app long associated with Apple devices, and it now runs on Google’s new laptop platform. Android phones, foldables and tablets are not supported at launch. Flexibits says it wants to bring the app to those devices, and its product page lists mobile Android support as coming in 2027. Treat 2027 as a plan, not a confirmed ship date.
What is and isn’t available today
The Googlebook release is a laptop app. Flexibits’ launch announcement states it plainly: “Fantastical for Googlebook does not support Android phones, foldables, or tablets.” So if you own a Googlebook, you can use it. If you only have an Android phone or tablet, you can’t use it yet.

“Googlebook” here means Google’s laptop line. Google’s official product page presents it that way and lists Fantastical among its apps. When that page was checked, it showed Googlebooks starting at $899. That is a captured listing, and price and market availability can change.

Flexibits’ launch post doesn’t explain the order, so any “why” is reported context. 9to5Google reported that Flexibits co-founder and CEO Michael Simmons said development began after Google demonstrated the laptop platform to the team and he was impressed. That is a secondhand account of his reaction, not a statement from the official announcement. No source here describes technical or business reasons for putting phones second.

What the Googlebook app does
Flexibits lists these features for the launch version:
- Natural-language event creation. Flexibits’ example is typing “Tacos at 1 PM on Friday.”
- Views: Task, Day, Week, Month, Quarter and Year.
- Task syncing with Google, Microsoft and Todoist. Flexibits’ help material says Google Tasks, Microsoft 365 tasks and Todoist tasks are currently supported on Googlebook.
- Faster access to conference calls.
No hands-on testing has been published in the sources reviewed, so how well it performs or how reliable it is remains unestablished.

Flexibits says basic use is free. Existing Flexibits Premium subscribers get the Googlebook app at no extra charge. Android Authority reported paid tiers starting at $4.75 per month, with individual, family and team options. Flexibits’ launch announcement doesn’t confirm that figure, so check its current pricing page before subscribing.

What to do depending on your situation
- You’re buying a Googlebook: Fantastical is available from day one, and the free tier lets you try it before paying.
- You already pay for Flexibits Premium: the Googlebook app is included.
- You’re on Android phone or tablet: you’ll have to wait. Flexibits’ 2027 target is a stated intention, not a release commitment, so don’t plan a switch around it.
