What Facebook Quiet Mode changes
Meta says Quiet Mode “mutes most push notifications and limits notification dots.” Facebook also reminds you that Quiet Mode is on when you return to the app. “Most” matters: Meta does not promise that every notification will be blocked. The feature is not described as logging you out, deleting messages, or changing all notifications on your device.
Meta’s description appears in its November 5, 2021 article, Time Management Tools on Facebook & Instagram.

Quiet Mode versus your phone’s Do Not Disturb
Facebook Quiet Mode is a Facebook setting for managing the app’s notifications. Android’s Do Not Disturb is a separate device-level control, available through Quick Settings or Settings, and is not required to use Facebook Quiet Mode.

| Control | Scope | Scheduling | Effect on other apps |
|---|---|---|---|
| Facebook Quiet Mode | Facebook; mutes most push notifications and limits notification dots | Can be scheduled for selected days and start and end times | Does not control other apps |
| Android Do Not Disturb | Device-level control | Not stated in the cited Facebook documentation | Separate from Facebook Quiet Mode |
Why you may not see the same settings
Facebook can change menu names and navigation as its apps are updated. The exact route may also differ by account, region, and operating system. Look for the time-management section and its Quiet Mode control rather than relying on one fixed path.
