The project author describes it as zero-dependency; that claim is plausible given Python’s standard library, but the package’s dependency metadata and live API behavior have not been independently verified here.
What the CLI does—and what it does not do
The project author presents remote-jobs-export as a local fetch, filter, and export step. A remote-job API supplies listings that have already been aggregated and normalized; the CLI retrieves those records and writes them in a format suited to your next task. The API package page describes normalized listings, but no live response was inspected, so coverage and current API behavior should not be assumed.

That division matters: the CLI is not itself a job board or an aggregator. Its usefulness depends on the upstream API’s availability, coverage, and fields, as well as on the CLI’s current interface.

The author also describes JSON and SQLite output, along with filters for source, skills, and minimum salary. Exact flag names and option combinations are not established here, so consult the project’s current documentation rather than guessing the syntax for those filters.
Choose an export format for your next step

The CLI author claims support for all three outputs. Python’s documentation describes standard-library support for CSV and JSON handling, and its sqlite3 documentation explains SQLite’s lightweight, disk-based model. CSV and JSON are interchange formats; SQLite is a database, so it is a better fit when you want structured queries and are comfortable using SQL.

Filter listings, including by salary
The project author says the CLI can filter by job source, skills, and minimum salary. They also describe parsing salary strings into numeric range, currency, and period fields. These are project claims, not independently tested features: the available example does not establish how accurately the parser handles different salary conventions, currencies, or incomplete listings.
Before treating a salary filter as a reliable screening rule, inspect the exported salary fields and compare a sample with the original listing. A missing or inconsistently formatted salary may not be comparable to a numeric minimum, and the source does not establish how such cases are handled.

What “zero dependency” means here
The author says the implementation uses Python’s standard library, including urllib, csv, json, and sqlite3. Those modules make the described design feasible: Python documents URL-opening functions in urllib.request, and its tutorial covers CSV and JSON file handling. The sqlite3 documentation describes Python’s interface to SQLite.
Standard-library capabilities do not, by themselves, prove that every published release has no third-party dependencies. The package’s current metadata was not independently audited, so treat “zero-dependency” as the author’s description rather than a verified guarantee for all versions.

Check the release before building a workflow around it
The package index lists version 1.1.0, released September 29, 2026. That is release metadata, not proof of API stability or feature behavior. Before automating an export, check the current package listing and project documentation for the version, commands, filters, endpoint, and upstream coverage.
Because the API is the source of the listings, a successful local export cannot establish that the dataset includes every board or that its normalization is complete. Keep the upstream source and the export timestamp with any dataset used for ongoing analysis.
