Will the exhaust and window kit work in your room?
CHOICE lists a duct and window/sliding-door kit as supplied, while the manual specifies a 150 mm diameter, 1500 mm exhaust pipe. Before buying, measure the opening and the route from the appliance to the window. Check that the supplied kit suits your window style and that the duct can be routed as intended. Do not assume a replacement kit or extension will fit without confirming compatibility.

How does drainage work?
The manual describes both emptying the internal water tank and continuous drainage through the supplied drain tube. When using continuous drainage, the receiving drain must be lower than the unit’s drain hole so water can flow out. The manual says the supplied tube can be extended with another tube of 18 mm outer diameter; that extension is not supplied, and you should check the fittings and route before relying on it.
When the tank-full indicator and alarm activate, the compressor stops until the collected water is drained. Plan for periodic emptying if you are not able to set up a suitable gravity-drain route.

What maintenance and seasonal storage does it need?
Clean the filter
- Unplug the appliance before cleaning.
- Remove the filter and tap it gently or vacuum away dust.
- Rinse it in warm running water, then let it dry thoroughly before reinstalling.
- Do not operate the unit without its filters installed.
Prepare it for storage
At the end of the season, the manual instructs owners to drain collected water, run ventilation for at least two hours to dry internal components, and clear or replace the filters. For the EPA58041 series, it says to store the appliance in a room larger than 15 m².
What should you know about heating and restarting?
The manual says heating may pause in low temperatures while the unit defrosts frost buildup, then resume. This is a described operating behavior, not a measured heating-performance result.

Excelair/Excelsior Products recommends waiting at least three minutes after turning the appliance off before turning it on again, to extend compressor life.
Warranty and buying checks
The 2024 manual states a 24-month warranty and says to retain the purchase receipt for a claim. It lists Australian customer service at 1300 174 876, Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm EST. Check the warranty document supplied with the exact appliance you buy, since that is the document relevant to your purchase.
- Confirm the supplied window kit fits your opening and the exhaust route is practical.
- Decide whether you can empty the internal tank or provide a lower gravity-drain outlet.
- Check the unit’s dimensions and weight against the intended location and how you will move it.
- Look for independently published cooling, energy-efficiency and noise results before comparing performance or choosing based on those factors.
