Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIf your Eufy HomeBase will not connect, first work out whether setup is failing, an installed base is offline, the app cannot find it, or an accessory will not pair. For HomeBase 2, connect the base to your router by Ethernet during initial setup; switch it to Wi-Fi only after setup is complete. Pairing steps vary by accessory, so do not use a doorbell’s SYNC-button instructions as a HomeBase reset procedure.
First identify what “can’t connect” means
The right fix depends on where the connection process stops. Note the exact HomeBase model and, if relevant, the camera or doorbell model before changing anything.

- Initial setup fails: the HomeBase has not yet been added in the app.
- The base is offline: it was added before, but the app now reports that it cannot connect.
- The app cannot discover the base: the base may be powered and network-connected, but onboarding cannot find it.
- An accessory will not pair: HomeBase is working, but a camera or doorbell will not connect to it.
The wired setup and Wi-Fi switching steps below are for HomeBase 2. The pairing instructions are specifically for Video Doorbell Dual with HomeBase 2; other generations and accessories may differ.

For HomeBase 2 initial setup, connect by Ethernet
Eufy’s HomeBase 2 Wi-Fi instructions say the base must connect to the router by Ethernet during setup. Confirm it has power, the cable is firmly seated at both ends, and the router port is working. If the included cable seems faulty, test with a known-good Ethernet cable before considering a replacement.

- Connect HomeBase 2 to power.
- Connect it to a working router port with Ethernet.
- Follow the app’s setup prompts for the specific device.
Do not try to complete HomeBase 2’s initial setup over Wi-Fi: Eufy’s documented process calls for Ethernet first. If the base is already configured and you want to change its connection, use the Wi-Fi steps below instead.
Check the phone and setup indicators
The surfaced eufyCam 2 setup flow says to connect the phone to the same router used by HomeBase and wait about a minute for the base indicator to change from red to blue. Treat this as guidance for that documented setup flow, not a universal rule for every HomeBase: confirm the prompts and light behavior for your exact model in the app or its matching support instructions. The relevant eufyCam 2 setup page did not load when checked, so its indicator guidance cannot establish a cross-model LED diagnostic chart.

If setup is complete, choose Ethernet or switch to Wi-Fi
Eufy recommends Ethernet when the HomeBase and camera range is within limits and the signal is strong. The company says Wi-Fi transmission may be less stable and live streams may be delayed. Wi-Fi can offer more placement flexibility, but a wireless connection may trade that flexibility for less stable transmission or additional stream delay.
For HomeBase 2, switch connection mode in the eufy app using Device Tab > select HomeBase > HomeBase Settings > General > Wi-Fi Connection. Eufy says HomeBase can theoretically be about 50 feet from the Wi-Fi router, but this is not a guaranteed operating range: wall thickness, obstacles and router placement affect the actual distance. If an already configured base is unstable on Wi-Fi, reconnect it by Ethernet to check whether the wireless path is the source of the problem.

If HomeBase 2 is online but Video Doorbell Dual will not pair
These steps are for the specific Video Doorbell Dual and HomeBase 2 combination, not for HomeBase setup or other accessories. Eufy’s pairing instructions specify these checks and actions:
- Make sure HomeBase shows a solid blue light and the doorbell shows blue.
- Bring the doorbell within 1 meter of HomeBase.
- Press the doorbell’s SYNC button for two seconds, until it beeps, and follow the app’s pairing flow.
- If pairing still fails, use the longer SYNC sequence in Eufy’s model-specific article: press for 10 seconds, then press again for two seconds.
The SYNC sequence is a doorbell pairing procedure; do not treat it as a generic way to reset HomeBase.
When basic checks do not resolve it
The available HomeBase 2 instructions do not establish router-side fixes involving DHCP, firewall rules, DNS, VLANs or port forwarding. Avoid changing network security settings based on a guess; use current support instructions for the exact model first. If you contact Eufy support, provide:
