Ten products appear in a 2026 comparison, but the available product evidence is uneven: it supports feature summaries for four, not an evidence-based ranking of all ten. Treat the names below as a shortlist to validate, not a ranked list of winners.
First, distinguish employee performance tools from financial EPM
Employee performance-management platforms help organizations set goals, run review cycles, collect feedback, and support talent decisions. Financial EPM systems focus on activities such as budgeting, forecasting, and financial close. The acronym “EPM” alone is therefore not enough to identify the right category.

For example, the Workday page available for this comparison describes Adaptive Planning, including financial, workforce, and operational planning; it does not establish the employee-review capabilities of Workday Performance. Workday’s Adaptive Planning page should not be treated as a source for Workday Performance features.
Ten enterprise candidates—and what the evidence supports
The ten names below appear in a 2026 comparison published by Betterworks, which is itself one of the listed products. Its inclusion and ordering are not an independent ranking. The available official product documentation supports feature detail for Betterworks, SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals, Lattice, and 15Five; the other six should be treated as candidates requiring product-specific verification.

What the documented products say they do
Betterworks
Betterworks describes a platform connecting goals, feedback, skills, and talent intelligence, with real-time performance insight. Those descriptions are vendor claims, not independent evidence of outcomes or a measured advantage over the other candidates. Use a buyer-specific demo to check fit, integrations, security, administration, and deployment.
SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals
SAP’s Help Portal documentation identifies the product version as 1H 2026 and covers goal setting, continuous feedback and coaching, performance reviews, and 360-degree reviews. SAP describes Continuous Performance Management as “a solution that enables you to get quick feedback on your work through frequent and structured conversations with your manager.” That is SAP’s description of its own product, not an independent evaluation.

How to compare enterprise platforms fairly
Run the same scenario with each shortlisted vendor rather than relying on labels such as “best for” or a vendor-authored ranking. Use your actual organization structure, goals, competencies, review contributors, and calibration requirements. Assess the following in the demonstration and procurement process:
- HRIS and integrations: Confirm which systems connect, what data moves in each direction, how often it syncs, and how errors are surfaced.
- Goal alignment and check-ins: Test how employees and managers set, update, and review goals across teams and reporting lines.
- Review-cycle flexibility: Walk through your real review cadence, templates, approval steps, and exceptions.
- Feedback and coaching: Check whether managers can capture ongoing feedback and conduct structured conversations in the way your policies require.
- 360-degree input: Confirm how contributors are selected, what they can see, and how feedback is collected and presented.
- Calibration and talent review: Test the exact calibration and talent-review process, including permissions and how decisions are recorded.
- Analytics and reporting: Verify which reports are available, who can access them, and whether data can be exported for analysis.
- Administration and auditability: Examine roles, permissions, configuration controls, audit trails, and data export.
- Implementation and support: Ask what configuration and rollout require from your team, what onboarding is included, and what support applies after launch.
- Privacy, security, and procurement: Validate regional data handling, security requirements, contract terms, and availability with the vendor for your organization’s geography.
Pricing and rollout: what to confirm directly
Current prices, contract minimums, implementation timelines, and regional availability are not established for these candidates. Request a vendor quote rather than estimating from a comparison list. Ask for the complete contract terms and a rollout plan based on your employee count, system landscape, review calendar, and configuration needs.
