They show a mix of products and deployment stages—not 21 independently verified, fully scaled systems.
What these deployments show
“Copilot” covers several kinds of tools in these examples: assistants embedded in workplace software or CRM, custom agents connected to organizational processes, recommendation systems, and conversational tools for customers. Their uses and users differ, so a reported time saving in one workflow is not directly comparable with a rollout announcement or a customer-service application.

The cases below draw mainly on Microsoft-authored customer stories and a Microsoft Learn case catalog. Salesforce’s account of its own deployment is first-person vendor reporting. A 2024 technical paper provides a different kind of evidence for Microsoft’s Sales Experience system. Treat reported outcomes as attributed claims, not as results independently validated across the set.

How organizations are using copilots
Industrial and scientific information
- ABB Group — operational insights. Microsoft says ABB integrated a generative AI solution with its Genix industrial IoT and analytics suite, allowing customers to ask natural-language questions and receive operational insights. One example is asking about carbon emissions across plants. (Microsoft customer roundup.)
- NASA Earth Science Data Systems Program — Earth data. A Microsoft roundup published in November 2024 says the program announced Earth Copilot, a solution built with Azure OpenAI Service. The account describes an announced solution; it does not establish a completed, scaled deployment.
Employee productivity, learning, and internal processes
- Accenture — broad employee rollout. Microsoft reported in November 2024 that Accenture was rolling out Microsoft 365 Copilot and agents to 100,000 employees, with a commitment to deploy them to 200,000 more. Those figures describe a reported rollout and commitment, not a verified count of active users.
- Banco Ciudad — employee assistance and custom agents. Microsoft says the Argentine bank expanded from a pilot to broader adoption of Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Azure. Microsoft reports 2,400 employee work hours freed annually and projected monthly savings of US$75,000. The savings figure is a projection, not a confirmed recurring result.
- Commonwealth Bank of Australia — employee skilling. Microsoft describes a structured AI-skilling initiative as part of the bank’s effort to develop secure, customizable banking experiences. The account centers on preparing employees, rather than reporting a productivity metric.
- Make-A-Wish — productivity and sensitive information. Microsoft says the nonprofit deployed Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio alongside cloud and data services to unify data, rebuild applications, and support staff productivity while protecting sensitive family data.
- EY — employee and client-facing work. In a 2024 report, Microsoft said EY was scaling Microsoft 365 Copilot to 150,000 employees. Microsoft also reported that EY professionals said automating routine tasks produced productivity gains of up to 14 hours per week. Both figures are Microsoft-reported; the hours are an upper-end reported gain, not a result established for every employee.
- GHD — proposal review. Microsoft says employees used Microsoft 365 Copilot to cut the time spent reviewing requests for proposals from hours to 15 minutes. This is a workflow-specific result reported in Microsoft’s customer material.
- Chi Mei Medical Center — clinical documentation. Microsoft’s 2024 customer story says doctors’ medical-report writing time fell from one hour to 15 minutes, while nurses’ documentation took under five minutes per patient instead of 10–20 minutes. These are vendor-published workflow figures, not independently audited clinical outcomes.
- Grupo Bimbo — internal audit. A Microsoft Learn Copilot Studio catalog entry describes using Copilot Studio to standardize audit planning and execution across the company’s global internal audit team.
- La Trobe University — academic productivity and support. A Microsoft Learn catalog entry describes using AI and Copilot Studio to support academic productivity and services.
- Singapore Civil Defence Force — process automation. A Microsoft Learn catalog entry describes digital solutions built with Power Platform and Copilot Studio to automate manual processes and support the workforce.
Sales and CRM assistance
- Microsoft Sales Experience (MSX) — seller content recommendations. A 2024 technical paper describes a retrieval-and-reranking recommender integrated into the production Dynamics CRM used daily by Microsoft sellers. It surfaces relevant content through a Copilot interface. This example documents a recommendation system inside a seller workflow, rather than a general-purpose writing assistant.
- Salesforce — internal use of Einstein Copilot. Salesforce said it began deploying Einstein Copilot within its own organization in February 2024, with thousands of employees using it daily. The company described intended workflows in sales, service, and marketing; this is Salesforce’s first-person vendor account.
Customer service and external-facing agents
- Dunaway — regulatory and city-code research. A Microsoft Learn Copilot Studio catalog entry describes a conversational agent for regulatory answers and compliance workflows.
- Holland America Line — website concierge. A Microsoft Learn catalog entry describes a Copilot Studio virtual concierge for the company website.
- mobilezone — telecom service delivery. A Microsoft Learn catalog entry describes using Copilot Studio, Dynamics 365, and MCP servers to modernize service delivery and internal operations.
- Nexi Group — payment-card support. A Microsoft Learn catalog entry describes using Copilot Studio and Azure AI services for customer interactions and card-service support.
- Rabobank — conversational banking. Microsoft describes text- and voice-enabled conversational AI built with Copilot Studio for customer service.
- Signetic — healthcare operations. A Microsoft Learn catalog entry describes Power Platform and Copilot Studio supporting operational workflows and patient care.
- T-Mobile — representative support. A Microsoft Learn catalog entry describes a Power Apps and Copilot Studio application that gives representatives device information to support customer interactions.
How to judge a copilot example
A useful comparison starts with the job the system performs, not its label. For each deployment, ask:

- Your conversations stay private and yours: Compliant with ISO 27001, ISO 27701, SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, and EN 18031, with zero data used to train AI models. Trusted by 2.5M+ professionals, including legal, medical, and business professionals handling sensitive information
- Who uses it? An employee assistant, a specialist tool, and a customer-facing agent serve different users and carry different risks.
- Where does it fit? Check whether it is embedded in a workplace suite or CRM, connected to business data, or presented as a separate conversational experience.
- What stage is described? Distinguish an announcement, a pilot, a rollout commitment, and use described as operational. A planned audience is not the same as active usage.
- What does the human still do? The examples do not establish a common level of review or autonomy. For sensitive work, clarify whether people check outputs before they are used.
- How was the outcome measured? Separate time estimates, reported employee experience, projected savings, and technical system evaluations. A figure from one workflow should not be treated as a general benchmark.
What the evidence can—and cannot—establish
The published cases are useful for seeing where organizations are applying copilots, but they do not provide a shared test of effectiveness. Microsoft’s customer roundups and case catalog are vendor-authored; Salesforce’s account is also from the vendor. The MSX paper offers technical detail and an evaluation of that particular recommender, not a comparison of all the examples here. The set therefore supports a map of reported use cases, not a ranking by return on investment or proof that one approach works best.
