What the EBE5307BC-L offers
Electrolux lists the EBE5307BC-L in its UltimateTaste 500 range as a frost-free bottom-mount refrigerator in dark stainless steel. Its specifications include an inverter compressor and R600a refrigerant. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test findings. Capacity: standardised versus gross
Electrolux gives two different capacity totals because they refer to different measurement bases. The standardised total is 496 L: 351 L for the food compartment and 145 L for the freezer. Separately, gross volume totals 529 L: 362 L for the food compartment and 167 L for the freezer. Use the standardised figures when comparing advertised usable capacity with another refrigerator on the same basis; do not compare one model’s gross volume with another’s standardised capacity.
Storage and cooling features
Listed food-storage features include adjustable FlexStor shelves and door bins, a TasteLock humidity-controlled crisper, FreshPlus cooling and a full-width telescopic MultiZone deli compartment. TasteGuard is the listed deodoriser. The freezer has two twist-and-serve ice units.

The refrigerator includes EvenTemp cooling, while controls and functions include internal electronic touch controls, holiday and eco modes, Fast Ice and Boost Mode. Electrolux says that after a large shop, Boost Mode increases the refrigerator’s chill rate for 90 minutes and Fast Ice lowers the freezer to -23°C for 12 hours, after which both return to their preset temperatures. This describes the manufacturer’s stated operation, not a measured result.
Other listed functions include a drink-chill alarm, freezer-temperature alarm and refrigerator-door alarm. Consider whether the compartment layout and controls suit how your household shops and stores food; a feature list alone does not establish temperature stability or freshness performance.
Will it fit your kitchen?
The listed overall dimensions are 796 mm wide, 773 mm deep and 1,725 mm high. The cabinet dimensions are 790 mm wide, 641 mm deep and 1,705 mm high. With the door open to 90 degrees, the stated depth is 1,457 mm. That open-door measurement matters if the refrigerator faces an island, wall or narrow walkway.

Electrolux’s bottom-mount refrigeration dimension guide, dated September 2021, gives minimum recommended airspaces for the EBE5307BC family of 30 mm at the sides and 50 mm above and behind. It notes that some circumstances call for more space above and directs owners to the supplied manual for authoritative installation instructions.

- Measure the recess, including the required airflow clearances, rather than measuring only the cabinet opening.
- Check the full door swing and whether the hinge-side position leaves room to remove bins and shelves, especially in a corner installation. The doors sit proud of cabinetry.
- Measure the delivery route as well as the final location: entrances, corridors, turns and stairs can constrain access even when the kitchen recess is large enough.
- Confirm installation requirements with the manual for the specific appliance before fitting it.
Energy figures depend on the rating basis
Electrolux’s product information lists a 5-star rating under its stated newer capacity and energy-rating basis. It also gives 4.5 stars and 323 kWh per year under AS/NZS 4474.2:2009, and 310 kWh per year under AS/NZS 4474.1 2007 / IEC 62552-2015. These figures use different rating bases, so they should not be treated as directly interchangeable or combined into a single comparison.
Electrolux notes that refrigerator capacity and energy ratings changed from 15 August 2021 and advises comparing products under the same standard. When assessing running costs against another refrigerator, compare the kWh figure reported under the same test standard; actual household electricity use and cost are not established by the label figures alone.
What independent testing tells you—and does not
CHOICE’s model page identifies the refrigerator as freezer-on-bottom and extra-large, gives 2021 as the test year and marks the model discontinued. The publicly visible material examined does not disclose its expert rating, recommendation or laboratory performance scores. It therefore does not support a claim that CHOICE found the refrigerator either good or poor.
The member-only results include measures such as temperature stability, evenness and range, freshness, noise, running cost, reliability and owner satisfaction. Without those results, the listed features and energy specifications cannot answer how the model performed in those tests.

Availability, warranty and parts
CHOICE labels the model discontinued. That does not establish whether a particular retailer still has stock, and no current selling price is established here. CHOICE’s page displays $2,499, but that is a page figure, not a verified live price. Check stock and the terms of sale directly with any seller before arranging a purchase.
Electrolux lists a two-year domestic warranty, with three additional years covering the sealed refrigeration system only. Check the warranty wording and eligibility for the particular unit, especially if buying old stock or a second-hand appliance.
For repairs, Electrolux’s parts shop has an Air Channel Complete listing, part 140007489085, that names EBE5307BC-L as a compatible model. The listing asks customers to verify fit by model or PNC. Use the appliance’s product or serial plate and confirm compatibility with Electrolux before ordering; compatibility of this one part does not establish that every part for a related model will fit.
Who should consider this model?
- It may suit you if you want a large bottom-freezer layout, value a dedicated deli compartment and ice makers, and have enough room for its dimensions, ventilation clearances and door swing.
- Pause before buying if you need independently disclosed performance results, require a verified current supply, or cannot confirm installation access and clearance. The available public CHOICE information does not resolve its lab performance.
If comparing it with another refrigerator, compare standardised capacity with standardised capacity, dimensions and door clearance, energy figures under the same standard, storage layout, disclosed independent results, current availability, warranty and price. The information here does not establish a like-for-like alternative or make the EBE5307BC-L a category winner.
