Its article links to a ZIP download and outlines a basic workflow: download and extract the file, install the font, reopen your design program, then type, format, and print the letters. The page does not confirm commercial-use rights, and the linked ZIP’s current availability has not been verified.
What the DTPtips font is for
DTPtips presents the font as a tool for making custom alphabet-tracing worksheets for children. The article says it can be used for uppercase and lowercase English letters. It is an installable-font approach: you create the page in a design or word-processing program that can use installed fonts, rather than building the worksheet in a website generator.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Download and extract: Download the linked ZIP and extract its contents using your computer’s archive utility.
- Install the font file: Locate the font file in the extracted folder and use your operating system’s font-install option. DTPtips does not specify the file type or provide system-specific installation paths.
- Reopen your design program: If the program was already open, close and relaunch it so it can load newly installed fonts.
- Type the practice letters: Enter the uppercase or lowercase letters you want children to trace and select the dotted font from the program’s font list.
- Adjust and print: Set the letter size, spacing, and page layout to suit the worksheet, then print it.
If the font does not appear, first confirm that the extracted font file was installed successfully, then restart the program. If the ZIP link does not download or extract, the DTPtips page does not provide a verified alternate file in the information available here.
Is the download free for commercial use?
The page’s download wording does not establish a commercial license. DTPtips’ response to the question “this font is free commercial use?” does not specify commercial-use permission. A free download is not, by itself, permission to sell worksheets, distribute them commercially, or embed the font in files you share. If you intend to sell or commercially distribute worksheets, ask the publisher or rights holder for explicit license terms first.

Other ways to make tracing worksheets
If you would rather not install a font, online generators can produce worksheet pages in a browser. Their features differ, so choose based on whether you need a printable file, on-screen practice, guide lines, or stroke directions.

| Option | What its provider describes | Useful distinction |
|---|---|---|
| DTPtips Regular Dotted Tracing Font | Installable-font workflow for custom alphabet worksheets; commercial-use terms are not specified. DTPtips | Make and format pages in a separate program; current ZIP availability is unverified. |
| Olesur worksheet generator | Online worksheet generator with dotted-letter choices, multiple guide-line layouts, PDF and PNG output, and on-screen tracing. Its page says Grid and Puntos are online-only, while Punteada.ttf is downloadable. Olesur | Offers both printable output and browser-based practice. |
| digtools tracing generator | Browser-based printable sheets with dotted or outline text, adjustable font size, and optional four-line guidelines. The provider describes personal, homeschool, and classroom worksheet distribution. digtools | Choose dotted or outline practice and add guidelines without installing the DTPtips font. |
| Alphastrokes tracing-font product | A separate TrueType tracing-font product describes letter start positions and stroke directions; its full version includes arrows, while its free version excludes them. The provider also links a workbook and other learning resources. Alphastrokes | Includes explicit starting-point and stroke-direction features that the DTPtips page does not document. |
A ready-made children’s alphabet tracing workbook is another option if you want physical practice pages rather than creating your own. It is a separate product, not part of the DTPtips font. The sources describe features, not comparative learning outcomes; they do not establish that one approach improves handwriting more than another.
