Short answer: Choose the MOVA LiDAX Ultra AWD 1000 or 1600 when your mapped lawn is within 1,000–1,600 m² and you want the lower European list price. Choose the 2000 for up to 2,000 m². The Dreame A3 AWD Pro 3500 or 5000 is the better capacity match for larger properties, with a published 3,500 or 5,000 m² rating and a stated edge distance of 1.2 inches. Both are premium four-wheel-drive mowers with LiDAR, AI vision, wire-free navigation, 40 cm cutting width and an advertised 80% (about 38.6–38.7°) slope limit.
The slope number is a manufacturer maximum, not a promise on every wet, loose or uneven bank. Your decision should start with mapped area and terrain, then edge geometry, charging behavior, service terms and regional price.

Pick MOVA for a small or medium lawn and lower entry cost
The LiDAX Ultra AWD 1000 is sized for a mapped area of 1,000 m², the 1600 for 1,600 m² and the 2000 for 2,000 m². Notebookcheck’s listed European MSRPs are €1,599, €1,899 and €2,199 respectively. That gives MOVA the lower published entry price and a closer capacity fit for many suburban lawns.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Use the next tier when your grass area is near the rating, when there are several separated zones, or when narrow passages and frequent detours will reduce productive mowing time. A 1,600 m² rating should not be treated as a comfortable 1,600 m² of complicated grass without headroom.
Pick Dreame for larger properties
The A3 AWD Pro tiers compared by Notebookcheck cover 3,500 and 5,000 m², with listed European MSRPs of €2,599 and €2,999. Dreame’s current product page also shows a 2,500 variant, but the supplied comparison does not state a price for it. Select the 3500 when your mapped lawn is well above the MOVA 2000 class; select the 5000 for a larger estate or a layout that forces long travel between zones.
Dreame is also the more natural choice if its stated 1.2-inch EdgeMaster 2.0 distance, security functions or three years of complimentary 4G data are priorities. Those are specification and service claims, not independent guarantees of a particular mowing result or cellular availability in every region.
What both mowers have in common
These are closely related premium AWD designs rather than conventional wire-guided robots. Both combine 360-degree 3D LiDAR with AI vision, allowing the mower to build a map, identify obstacles and route around the lawn without a perimeter wire. Their shared 40 cm cutting width and 3–10 cm electric height range suit ordinary turf through relatively tall grass, provided the first cut is not an attempt to remove an excessive amount at once.
Both publish an 80% slope capability. Dreame states 38.7° and MOVA 38.6°, the small difference resulting from rounding. The rating should be read as a maximum under the maker’s test conditions. Wet grass, loose soil, ruts, roots, a diagonal approach and a slope that ends at a retaining wall can all reduce usable traction. Walk the route yourself and check that the mower can enter, turn and leave the slope rather than judging only the steepest point.

Capacity: measure the lawn before choosing a tier
- Measure grass, not the whole plot. Exclude patios, beds, ponds, buildings and permanently fenced areas.
- Add every mowing zone. Include front, back and side lawns that the robot must serve, even if they are connected by a narrow corridor.
- Account for travel and obstacles. Trees, play equipment, gates and islands consume time without increasing cut area.
- Leave headroom. Select the next capacity class when your measured area is close to the published limit or when the property has multiple zones and steep sections.
- Confirm the exact regional variant. The Dreame page currently displays 2500, 3500 and 5000 choices, while the MOVA page uses 1000, 1600 and 2000 labels. Retail bundles and availability can differ by country.
Capacity is a scheduling limit, not a claim that the mower cuts the entire number of square metres in one battery cycle. The robot returns to its dock, recharges and resumes its map. A larger rating gives more scheduling margin when weather, obstacles or multiple zones interrupt that cycle.
Slope and terrain: where AWD matters most
Four driven wheels improve, but do not eliminate, risk
Dreame describes four-wheel drive and “Power to Climb”; MOVA’s UltraDrive system uses four hub motors. Independent suspension details and a controlled comparative traction test are not established here, so do not assume one machine will automatically outperform the other on your exact bank.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallCheck drainage first. A slope that is manageable when dry may become slippery after irrigation or rain. Keep the dock on level, well-drained ground, avoid placing it at the bottom of a run-off channel, and remove loose stones that could spin under a driven wheel. For a bank ending beside a drop, pond or road, create a physical exclusion rather than relying only on obstacle recognition.
Crossing raised edges
Dreame lists obstacle crossing up to 2.2 inches. MOVA lists a 6 cm vertical crossing, which is slightly higher on paper. These figures describe a single vertical step, not every combination of kerb, soft soil and a turn. Measure the highest lip at thresholds and use a ramp or landscape transition when it exceeds the published figure.
Navigation and wire-free setup
Neither product description requires a buried boundary wire or an RTK antenna. Dreame uses OmniSense 3.0 3D vision; MOVA calls its system UltraView 3.0 and advertises “RTK-Free Setup” and “AI-Assisted Auto Mapping, Hands-Free.” In practice, both still need a carefully created digital map and clear exclusion areas.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Install the charging station on firm, level ground. Provide the clearance specified in the regional manual and keep the approach free of tall edging or loose gravel.
- Charge and pair the mower in its app. Complete firmware updates before mapping so the navigation behavior matches the current software.
- Walk or drive the mapping route as prompted. Trace every connected lawn and mark narrow corridors, no-go beds, ponds, steps and areas where a wheel could leave the turf.
- Review the map from above. Correct clipped corners, accidental gaps and crossings that pass too close to a road, drop or water feature.
- Run a supervised test. Watch the first complete boundary pass, then test each slope, corridor and obstacle at the intended cutting height.
- Set schedules by zone. Keep high-traffic areas out of mowing windows and use separate schedules when one section dries later than another.
LiDAR and vision reduce installation work, but they do not replace a safe map. Dark objects, transparent barriers, overgrown edges and changing garden furniture can affect recognition. Keep exclusion zones updated after landscaping changes.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Edge cutting: close, not necessarily perfect
Dreame’s EdgeMaster 2.0 claim is cutting within 1.2 inches of an edge. MOVA’s UltraTrim 2.0 claim is trimming under 3 cm. The figures are close enough that border construction may matter more than the nominal difference: a vertical wall, flush paving, rounded kerb and soft flower-bed edge present different wheel and blade geometries.
Expect to use a strimmer occasionally where grass overhangs a wall, where a safety margin keeps the mower away from a drop, or where the border is too irregular for a robot to follow. Before buying, measure the most difficult edge and check whether the mower can place a driven wheel on the hard surface without slipping.
Cutting system and routine maintenance
Dreame’s dual mowing system
Dreame specifies a dual mowing system and a 40 cm cutting width. The supplied specifications do not state the exact blade count or a universal replacement interval, so inspect the installed cutters regularly and follow the manual for the precise A3 AWD Pro variant.
MOVA’s two-disc arrangement
MOVA specifies two 40 cm discs with six blades each and includes spare blades. More blades do not by themselves prove a cleaner cut; sharpness, overlap, grass height and travel speed all contribute. Replace damaged or dull blades as a set or in the pattern stated by the manufacturer to preserve balance.

Weekly care checklist
- Switch the mower off and isolate it from the charger before turning it over.
- Brush packed clippings from the deck, wheels and blade discs; do not direct a pressure washer at seals or sensors.
- Inspect blades for bends, chips and corrosion, and tighten fasteners to the specified torque.
- Clear LiDAR and camera windows with a soft, dry cloth.
- Check that the dock contacts are clean and that the approach has not settled or flooded.
- Review the map after moving edging, installing a trampoline or changing a gate.
Battery, runtime and charging
MOVA publishes a 7.5 Ah, 36 V battery, 150–170 minutes of runtime and a 65-minute charge from 15% to 95%. Those are manufacturer specifications; actual mowing time changes with slope, grass density, temperature, blade condition and how often the mower has to navigate around objects.
Dreame’s battery capacity varies by A3 AWD Pro tier, so quote the exact model when comparing electrical specifications. Notebookcheck observed a Dreame unit charging from 15% to 100% in less than 1.5 hours. That is a test observation, not a universal guarantee, and the charge window differs from MOVA’s 15–95% specification.
Plan the schedule around the slowest conditions rather than the headline runtime. A steep lawn may require several shorter sessions, while a flat open lawn can make better use of each battery cycle. Keep the dock powered during the mowing season so the robot can recover automatically after rain or an interrupted session.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Weather protection, security and connectivity
Both makers list IPX6 water resistance. IPX6 indicates protection against powerful water jets; it is not permission to submerge the mower or leave the charging contacts in standing water. Follow the regional instructions for rain delays, winter storage and cleaning.
Dreame lists security functions and three years of complimentary 4G data. MOVA lists TrueGuard anti-theft features, 4G and a three-year warranty. Connectivity depends on regional cellular coverage and the exact sales package. Confirm whether the warranty, data period and theft-recovery features apply in your country before ordering, and record the mower’s serial number and dock location.

Price, availability and ownership cost
The 2026 European MSRPs in Notebookcheck’s comparison show a clear tier ladder:
| Model | Mapped-area class | European MSRP listed in 2026 comparison |
|---|---|---|
| MOVA LiDAX Ultra AWD 1000 | 1,000 m² | €1,599 |
| MOVA LiDAX Ultra AWD 1600 | 1,600 m² | €1,899 |
| MOVA LiDAX Ultra AWD 2000 | 2,000 m² | €2,199 |
| Dreame A3 AWD Pro 3500 | 3,500 m² | €2,599 |
| Dreame A3 AWD Pro 5000 | 5,000 m² | €2,999 |
These are reference MSRPs, not a promise of today’s checkout price. Regional taxes, bundles, promotions, replacement blades, a protective garage and installation materials can change the total. Compare the exact model number, included dock and warranty rather than using a discounted lower-capacity listing as a direct substitute.
Decision guide by lawn type
- Up to about 800 m², mostly open and gently sloped: MOVA 1000 supplies capacity headroom without paying for a larger class.
- About 800–1,400 m² or several zones: MOVA 1600 gives more scheduling margin than the 1000.
- About 1,400–2,000 m²: MOVA 2000 is the stated fit; choose it over a 1600 when corridors and obstacles consume substantial travel time.
- Above 2,000 m²: Start with Dreame 3500. The 5000 is appropriate when the mapped area is near 3,500 m², highly fragmented or expected to grow.
- Very steep, wet or irregular terrain: Treat both 80% ratings as an upper bound. Favor the model and local setup that provide the safest route, best drainage and most reliable wheel contact; neither specification replaces a supervised test.
Common problems and practical fixes
The mower slips on a slope
Pause mowing, inspect for wet turf, loose soil and clogged tread, then lower the cutting demand and test a drier route. Improve drainage or add a textured transition. If the slope remains unsafe, map it as a no-go area instead of repeatedly relying on the published maximum.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Edges are left uncut
Check whether the border is vertical, recessed or soft. Re-map the edge with a safe wheel path, trim overhanging growth manually and keep a narrow exclusion strip beside drops or water. The stated 1.2-inch and under-3-cm figures cannot overcome an inaccessible geometry.
The map contains gaps or false obstacles
Clean the vision and LiDAR windows, remove temporary furniture, repeat the supervised mapping pass and edit exclusion zones. Avoid mapping in heavy rain or with tall grass hiding the true border.
The robot returns before finishing
Inspect the schedule, battery condition, charging contacts and zone order. A lawn close to the rated area may need the next capacity class when it contains steep sections, narrow connectors or many obstacle detours.
Verdict
MOVA LiDAX Ultra AWD is the value-oriented choice for lawns in the 1,000–2,000 m² classes, especially when the lower listed European prices and the published 65-minute 15–95% charge specification fit your priorities. Dreame A3 AWD Pro is the capacity choice for larger properties, with 3,500 and 5,000 m² tiers, plus a stated 1.2-inch edge target and three years of complimentary 4G data. Neither is universally “best” on an 80% slope: select the capacity with headroom, verify your regional terms, and validate the actual terrain and borders before leaving either mower unattended.
