There is no official ranking of the strongest Saiyan forms across Dragon Ball’s anime, films, and manga. This list is an editorial comparison based on the opponents each form has faced, official descriptions of its power, and any stated limits. It draws on Dragon Ball Super material and does not treat the rankings as canon. The forms are unusual or easy to overlook—not secret transformations.
How this ranking works
The official Dragon Ball site describes these forms individually, but does not rank them against every other transformation. The order below weighs demonstrated matchups and explicit descriptions of power potential. Control and duration matter where the sources address them. Because the forms come from different stories and media, the ranking is a reasoned comparison, not a definitive result; the sources give no numerical multipliers for these candidates.

1. Broly’s Super Saiyan Full Power
Why it ranks first
In Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Broly awakens this form while fighting Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Gogeta. The official character profile calls it Broly’s ultimate form and says its potential is far beyond Super Saiyan. That language, paired with the opponent in the scene, makes it the strongest candidate on this list by the stated criteria. Dragon Ball Official Site’s Broly profile describes the transformation and its battle context.

Power comes with a serious loss of control: Broly grows larger, loses his sense of self, and attacks indiscriminately. The source does not give a precise multiplier or establish how this form compares with every later manga transformation.

2. Broly’s Great Ape power in his regular body
Why it is formidable
Broly can draw on Great Ape power without changing into a Great Ape, retaining his regular body and avoiding the large form’s limited mobility. His official profile says this state let him overpower Goku and Vegeta while they were in Super Saiyan God forms. That is a direct matchup-based reason to rank it so highly, even though the source does not call it a named Super Saiyan transformation. The official Broly profile explains the technique and matchup.
How it differs from his ultimate form
This is a use of Great Ape power in Broly’s normal body, not the same transformation as Super Saiyan Full Power. The official profile does not provide a controlled comparison between the two, so their order here reflects the stated criteria rather than a confirmed hierarchy.

3. Goku’s Super Saiyan God SS Kaioken
Blue combined with Kaioken
In the Dragon Ball Super anime’s Universe Survival Saga, Goku combines Kaioken with Super Saiyan God SS, commonly called Super Saiyan Blue. The official feature depicts the added Kaioken through a red aura over Blue’s aura. Separately, the official manga recap describes Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan as more powerful than Super Saiyan God. Together, those details support its place among the strongest forms here, but they do not establish that it surpasses every form that appears later. See the official feature on Goku’s forms and the Dragon Ball Super manga recap.

Continuity note
The Blue Kaioken depiction cited here is from the anime. The manga recap’s description of Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan should not be mistaken for a direct ranking of the anime’s Blue Kaioken against manga-only forms.

4. Vegeta’s Ultra Ego
A manga form learned through Beerus
Vegeta unveils Ultra Ego in the Dragon Ball Super manga after training with Beerus. The official volume recap identifies it as Vegeta’s new form, but does not compare it directly with Broly’s Super Saiyan Full Power or Goku’s Blue Kaioken. Its inclusion reflects its status as a major later Saiyan form; its position is an editorial placement, not an official tier. The official manga recap covers Vegeta’s training and Ultra Ego.
5. Goku’s Ultra Instinct -Sign-
Powerful technique, incomplete state
The official Dragon Ball feature describes Ultra Instinct -Sign- as an incomplete version of the Ultra Instinct technique used by gods. Its imperfect nature means Goku cannot hold it for long. That limitation places it below the more imposing candidates in this ranking, even though it marks a remarkable power state. The feature also notes its blue-white aura. The official Goku forms feature describes Sign, while the manga recap later covers Goku harnessing perfected Ultra Instinct.

Sign is not perfected Ultra Instinct
Ultra Instinct -Sign- and perfected Ultra Instinct are distinct states. The limitation described above applies to Sign; it should not be generalized to the later perfected form. Nor does the cited official material provide a direct comparison that would settle Sign’s rank against the other entries.
What about Super Saiyan 4?
Super Saiyan 4 is an alternate candidate if a list spans continuities. The official site says Goku and Vegeta first demonstrated it in the Dragon Ball GT anime and that it draws on Great Ape power. Because GT is a different continuity context from the Dragon Ball Super manga, anime, and film material considered above, it is not folded into this five-form ranking. The official feature on Saiyan forms identifies its GT origin.
Best Value
- Evolve – Dragon Ball Super: Super Saiyan 3 Son Goku action figure stands at approximately 5” tall with 27 points of articulation allowing infinite posing and display options.

Can these forms be ranked objectively?
No. The official sources establish particular descriptions and matchups, not a single power scale across all these continuities and media. Broly’s forms have the clearest direct matchup evidence in the cited material; the sources give less basis for ordering Ultra Ego, Blue Kaioken, and Ultra Instinct -Sign- against one another. Treat the numbered order as a transparent editorial judgment, not a canon-issued answer.
