Yes. The Arctis Nova Pro Wireless works with GTA VI on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X when it is connected through its base station and, for Xbox, when you use the Xbox-specific headset model. GTA VI is listed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, while SteelSeries lists the Nova Pro Wireless as compatible with both console families.
This is a console-compatibility answer, not a claim that the headset has a special GTA VI mode. The official material establishes that the game runs on the supported consoles and that the headset can receive their audio.

What the compatibility answer actually means
GTA VI is a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S title according to Rockstar Games Support. SteelSeries’ product guide lists the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch in TV mode, Android with USB-C and Mac. Because the game and headset are both supported at the console level, the headset can be used for GTA VI on either current-generation console.
The headset does not need a GTA-specific certification, profile or firmware mode for this to work. Your console supplies the game audio; the Nova Pro Wireless base station handles the console connection and sends the sound wirelessly to the headset.

- 2 BATTERIES FOR NO DOWNTIME — 2 hot-swappable batteries mean you won't ever have to stop gaming; the spare is always charging in the base station for unlimited play
- SIMULTANEOUS BLUETOOTH — Connect your mobile device to mix in calls or music with your game audio
Which Nova Pro Wireless model should you use?
The model distinction matters most if an Xbox is part of your setup. SteelSeries says every model has two direct USB system connections, but only the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for Xbox has the dedicated Xbox connection. The second USB port on that Xbox model remains flexible for devices such as a PC, PlayStation 4 or 5, Nintendo Switch and Mac.
| Consideration | PlayStation/PC package | Xbox package |
|---|---|---|
| PS5 connection | Supported through the base station | Supported through the base station |
| Xbox Series X connection | The dedicated Xbox connection is not provided | Supported through the dedicated Xbox port |
| Second USB system port | Two direct USB system connections are provided; the exact console assignment depends on the package | Flexible port for PC, PS5, PS4, Switch and Mac |
| Use with both PS5 and Xbox | Not the correct choice when you need the headset connected directly to Xbox | Connect Xbox to the dedicated port and PS5 to the flexible port |
| What to look for in a listing | A package explicitly identified for PlayStation/PC | The exact phrase “Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for Xbox” or an equally clear Xbox designation |
A PlayStation/PC package can be the sensible choice for a PS5-only owner. If you own, or may add, an Xbox Series X, choose the Xbox model rather than assuming every Nova Pro Wireless package has the same console circuitry.
How the two USB connections work
The base station is the wired bridge between the console and the wireless headset. You connect a USB system cable from the base station to the console, then choose the corresponding system on the base station. SteelSeries’ Multi-System Connect guidance describes switching the active device from the base station’s OLED/menu controls.

On the Xbox model, one USB connection is reserved for Xbox use. The other is the flexible connection for systems such as PS5. This arrangement lets one base station remain wired to both consoles instead of requiring you to move a single cable every time you change systems.
Set up the Nova Pro Wireless on PS5
- Place the base station where its display and controls are easy to reach.
- Connect the base station’s USB system connection to the PS5.
- On the base station, select the PlayStation or PS5 input shown for your model.
- On the PS5, open Settings > Sound > Audio Output and select the Nova Pro Wireless as the output device when it appears. Set the headset as the input device as well if you want to use its microphone for party chat.
- Start GTA VI and adjust the game’s own volume and audio options after the console recognizes the headset.
The same procedure applies whether you own the PlayStation/PC package or the Xbox package. The Xbox model does not lose PS5 compatibility; its second USB port is intended to remain useful for other systems.
Set up the Nova Pro Wireless on Xbox Series X
- Confirm that the headset package is the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for Xbox. The ordinary PlayStation/PC package does not provide the dedicated Xbox connection described by SteelSeries.
- Connect the base station’s dedicated Xbox USB port to the Xbox Series X.
- Power on the base station and headset, then select the Xbox system on the base station display if it is not selected automatically.
- Open the Xbox audio settings and verify that headset audio is enabled. Use the console’s chat mixer controls to balance GTA VI audio with party chat if necessary.
- Launch GTA VI. No game-specific headset download or GTA-branded preset is required by the compatibility information.
Xbox Series X is covered by the broader Xbox Series X|S platform listing. The headset connection requirement is determined by the console family and the headset model, not by whether the game is GTA VI or another Xbox title.

Use one headset with both PS5 and Xbox Series X
The most practical two-console arrangement is the Xbox model with both USB system connections occupied:
- Keep the Xbox Series X connected to the base station’s dedicated Xbox port.
- Connect the PS5 to the base station’s flexible second USB port.
- Turn on the console you want to use.
- Use the base station’s OLED/menu device controls to select the active system.
- If the console does not switch audio automatically, open that console’s sound settings and reselect the Nova Pro Wireless output.
This arrangement avoids repeatedly unplugging the Xbox cable. It also preserves the flexible port for a PC, PS4, Switch or Mac when one of those devices replaces the PS5 in your setup. The base station can have both consoles connected, but only the selected input is active at a given time.
What the official information does—and does not—promise
The compatibility documentation establishes that the headset can connect to the consoles on which GTA VI is listed. It does not publish GTA VI-specific measurements or tuning results. In particular, the reviewed official sources do not provide:

- A GTA VI surround-mix measurement.

Therefore, it is accurate to say the headset is compatible and usable for game audio and chat. It is not supported by the available documentation to promise a particular amount of latency, positional-audio performance or an ideal GTA VI EQ setting.
Buying checklist before you order
- Check the exact model name: Xbox owners should see “Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for Xbox” in the listing or packaging.
- Check the console target: A PS5-only buyer can use a PlayStation-compatible package; a buyer with both consoles should select the Xbox model.
- Check the included base station: The two-console method depends on connecting both systems to the base station’s USB ports.
- Do not infer Xbox support from the product family name alone: SteelSeries distinguishes the Xbox model by its dedicated Xbox port.
- Keep the cables accessible: You may need to confirm or change the active device from the base station menu during initial setup.
Troubleshoot the common connection problems
PS5 shows no headset audio
First confirm that the USB cable is connected to the base station and PS5, then select the PlayStation/PS5 input on the base station. In PS5 sound settings, reselect the Nova Pro Wireless for both output and, when needed, microphone input. If the base station is set to another connected system, the PS5 can remain silent even though the cable is plugged in.

Xbox Series X does not recognize the headset
Check the model before changing settings. Only the Xbox version has the dedicated Xbox connection described by SteelSeries. Then move the cable to that dedicated port, not the flexible second port, and select Xbox on the base station. A PlayStation/PC package cannot be converted into the Xbox model by changing a menu option.

The headset works on one console but not the other
When both systems are wired, select the correct active device from the base station’s OLED/menu controls. Confirm that each console is connected to the intended port and that its own audio-output setting still points to the headset. Switching the active system is separate from starting the game; launching GTA VI does not select the console input for you.
Chat works but game audio does not, or vice versa
Check the console’s output and input assignments independently. The headset can be selected for game output while the console uses another microphone, or the reverse. Recheck the game’s volume settings and the console’s chat mixer after the correct base-station input is active.
GTA VI platform and release timing
Rockstar Games Support states that GTA VI can be pre-ordered for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PlayStation Blog announcement in 2026 gave November 19 as the scheduled release date for the PS5 version. Release schedules can change, so verify the current Rockstar listing when planning a purchase or console setup. The headset’s compatibility conclusion remains tied to the supported console platforms, not to a particular pre-order date.
Bottom line for PS5 and Xbox owners
For PS5, the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless is compatible with GTA VI when its base station is connected by USB and the PS5 audio device is selected. For Xbox Series X, buy and use the Xbox model, connect its dedicated Xbox port, and select Xbox on the base station. If you own both consoles, the Xbox model is the practical choice because it can keep Xbox on the dedicated port and PS5 on the flexible second port.
