Yes. Landstalker: The Treasures of King Nole has both: many inns provide a map of Mercator Island, which you view at the counter, and you save at a church by taking the Record Book to the priest. The original Genesis cartridge supports four separate games, according to its instruction manual.
How to find and view the map
The map covers Mercator Island. The Genesis manual says that many inns have a free map on a shelf; it does not say every inn has one.

- Look for a map on a shelf in an inn.
- Pick it up and take it to the counter to view the island.
This is an item you take to the counter to view, not evidence of a map that remains constantly visible on screen. SEGA Genesis instruction manual
How to save your game
- Find a church.
- Pick up the Record Book from the shelf.
- Bring it to the priest and choose to have the game recorded.
The church-and-Record-Book method is described in both the original Genesis manual and the later Mega Drive Classics manual. Mega Drive Classics manual

Save slots: original cartridge and Mega Drive Classics
| Edition | What the manual establishes |
|---|---|
| Original Genesis cartridge | The instruction manual says the cartridge holds four separate games. |
| Mega Drive Classics | The manual shows a save-slot menu with Start, Copy, and Delete options. It does not establish that every other later platform uses the same menu or storage behavior. |
The Classics menu should not be treated as a description of the original cartridge interface. Conversely, the cartridge’s four-game capacity does not establish save-slot or cloud-save behavior for every later edition.

The Genesis manual confirms that the cartridge has save slots, but it does not identify the save-memory component or specify a battery. That manual alone is not enough to conclude that a particular battery replacement is required. For a used copy, check its actual save functionality rather than assuming it works.
