If you alternate vehicles frequently, check the selected vehicle’s displayed capacity before loading tools. Do not spend currency on a second vehicle assuming the first vehicle’s four-slot configuration will be inherited automatically. The available evidence does not support that assumption.

Do you regularly leave tools behind?
If a one-slot loadout forces you to abandon useful tools or return to storage more often than you want, capacity has immediate utility. The first stage is the least expensive way to gain another slot, so it can improve flexibility without committing the full cost of the later stages.
Is another vehicle upgrade solving a bigger problem?

What to do if the capacity appears to reset
A lower slot count after a transition does not automatically prove that the upgrade was erased. Check the following in order:
- Verify the vehicle. Confirm that you selected the same chassis that received the purchase. A different vehicle may legitimately show its own capacity.
- Verify the profile and save. Make sure you loaded the same ongoing save rather than a newly created profile or a separate slot.
- Check the upgrade screen again. Look for a purchase marker, an already-completed stage, or a price that indicates whether the game considers the stage owned.
- Complete a normal save transition. Return through the game’s ordinary end-of-expedition flow instead of force-closing during a loading or saving screen.
- Compare the visible capacity with your baseline. A screenshot or note can reveal whether the problem is a different vehicle, a changed loadout display, or an actual progression loss.
- Do not repurchase immediately. If the game still shows the stage as owned, buying again could waste Pebbles. Capture the state and check the developer’s current support information or patch notes.
There is no documented recovery procedure for a deleted save, a new profile, or an unverified reset option. Those situations fall outside the evidence for ordinary carry-over, so avoid treating a reset as reversible.
