Whether an app counts as “bloatware” depends on whether you find it useful or redundant. Check the software on your own laptop and its model-specific Acer documentation before deciding what to remove.
What software might come with an Acer laptop?
Acer manuals show examples of preinstalled software such as Acer Care Center, Acer Quick Access, Acer Jumpstart and Acer Product Registration. A Predator app-management list also includes examples of Dropbox promotions and audio or media applications. These are examples from particular product families, not a complete or universal inventory of Acer laptops. The apps can vary by model, product family, region and software configuration.

For the exact list on your device, review the installed apps in Windows and look up the laptop’s model on Acer’s US support page, which links to drivers and manuals as well as support and repair resources. Manuals for one Predator or Nitro model should not be treated as a list for an Aspire, Swift, TravelMate, Chromebook or other Acer device.

Are Acer’s preinstalled apps actually bloatware?
“Bloatware” is a judgment, not a technical category. An app that one owner considers unnecessary may provide another owner with support, hardware controls or another feature they use. Before uninstalling anything, identify what it does and whether you rely on a feature associated with your laptop model.

When Acer utilities overlap
Acer says AcerSense incorporates most major Acer Care Center features, so both are not required together. If your laptop has AcerSense, you may decide Care Center is redundant. That does not mean the two apps or every feature are identical on every device; check which utility and model-specific functions you actually use. How to uninstall an unwanted app
For a regular Windows application, use Windows’ built-in uninstall option first. Acer’s published instructions cover Windows 10; labels and screens may differ on Windows 11 or between Windows builds.

- Open Settings and go to Apps.
- Select the app you want to remove and choose Uninstall.
Acer’s Windows 10 guidance also describes opening Start, right-clicking the app and selecting Uninstall. Some apps that are part of Windows cannot be removed this way. See Acer’s Windows 10 app-uninstall instructions for that version’s steps.
Remove Acer Care Center if you use AcerSense
Acer’s Care Center-specific instructions are to open Start > All Apps, right-click Care Center, and select Uninstall. Consider first whether you depend on any Care Center feature that is relevant to your model.

When to check Acer support instead
If an app does not appear in the uninstall list, or a hardware feature stops working after removal, consult the manual and driver listings for your exact model before trying registry edits or deleting unfamiliar services. Acer support provides model-specific documentation and other support resources. The US page is a starting point for US support; availability and support details can differ by region.

Usually not if your goal is to remove just one app. Uninstalling targets a specific application; a Windows reset has broader effects. An Acer Nitro AN517-54 manual describes a reset option that reinstalls Windows, restores default settings, removes preinstalled apps and programs, and can keep personal files. A reset can also remove applications you installed yourself. Its behavior and screens depend on the Windows build and device, and this manual does not establish that the same workflow is available identically on every Acer model. For ordinary app removal, start with the uninstall route. Consider a reset only as a broader recovery measure, after reviewing its effect on your settings and installed software.
