It also helps to distinguish a transponder frequency—the satellite signal entry—from the LNB type or local-oscillator setting used by the dish system.
Which Dish TV service do you mean?
“Dish TV” is ambiguous. DishTV India and DISH in the United States are different services, so a frequency or setup instruction for one should not be applied to the other. DISH’s official support resources include receiver signal-check guidance for its US service; DishTV India’s help pages cover its own equipment and reception issues.

For DishTV India, the company identifies SES-8 at 95.0°E and AsiaSat-5 at 100.5°E as satellite platforms used for DTH operations. Those orbital positions identify satellites, not the transponder frequency to enter for a particular channel or receiver. The provider’s channel guide lists channels and programming rather than a current, indexed transponder-frequency table. A channel number is not a way to derive its tuning frequency.
Transponder frequency and LNB setting are different
A receiver’s satellite setup can include several separate choices. The transponder entry describes a signal on the selected satellite; the LNB type or local-oscillator frequency describes equipment settings used to receive and convert that signal. LNB power and DiSEqC configuration are additional receiver controls, not substitutes for a transponder value.

- Satellite: The satellite selected in the receiver setup. DishTV India lists SES-8 and AsiaSat-5 for DTH operations.
- Transponder: A specific signal entry associated with the selected satellite. The correct current value is service- and setup-dependent.
- LNB type or frequency: The receiver setting for the LNB installed in the system. Do not enter a transponder value in this field.
- LNB power and DiSEqC: Separate controls that may be needed to match the installation and connected equipment.
As an equipment-specific example, the Grundig CG5T00 manual gives 09750/10600 as its universal LNB option and describes selecting a satellite, choosing or editing a transponder, setting LNB type and power, and configuring DiSEqC. That figure is an LNB configuration example for that receiver—not a current DishTV India transponder frequency.
How to set up a receiver without guessing
Menu names vary by receiver, and a generic manual cannot establish the correct DishTV India tuning value for every installation. Use the procedure below to locate the relevant controls, then obtain service-specific values from current provider support or the instructions for your equipment.

- Open the receiver’s satellite or installation setup menu. On the Grundig CG5T00, the manual’s “Detailed Channel Settings” section covers these controls; other receivers may use different labels.
- Choose the satellite specified for your service and installation. Do not select a satellite solely because its orbital position appears in a general information page.
- Find the transponder list or transponder-edit option. Enter or select only the current value confirmed for your provider, receiver, and setup.
- Set the LNB type or local-oscillator option to match the installed LNB. Treat a manual’s example value as model guidance, not as a DishTV-wide setting.
- Check LNB power and DiSEqC settings against the actual installation and receiver documentation.
- Use the receiver’s signal display to check whether the dish and selected settings are receiving a signal. If they are not, check cabling and installation before changing unrelated values.
What to check when there is no signal
DishTV India’s self-help guidance says to ensure that the set-top box is properly connected to its antenna. Its troubleshooting flow also advises switching the box off and on; during heavy rain, wait for the rain to stop before expecting reception to recover. For DISH in the United States, use the provider’s own receiver menus and pointing instructions rather than DishTV India guidance.

- Restart the box using the provider’s troubleshooting instructions.
- Check the receiver’s signal display and whether the selected satellite and equipment settings match the installation.
- If heavy rain is affecting reception, wait for it to stop before treating the loss as a settings problem.
- Contact the relevant provider for current transponder values or service-specific troubleshooting when the signal does not return.
A signal-finder meter may help with dish alignment when used with compatible equipment, but it cannot correct an invalid subscription, wrong receiver configuration, or service issue.

Where to get current DishTV India tuning values
The official DishTV India channel guide is not a transponder-frequency table, and the available provider information does not establish current transponder values for every receiver, satellite, and location. Ask DishTV India support for the values applicable to your service and equipment instead of relying on an unofficial list that may be outdated or intended for another setup. Keep the provider, receiver model, selected satellite, and installation details together when seeking help so support can identify the relevant configuration.
