Dingo is musician Brandon Dodd, and for him a dining table is more than somewhere to eat: it is where family stories and difficult conversations surface. On tour with partner Kasey Chambers, he has carried that sense of gathering into a slower life on the road—and into “The Dining Table,” a duet on his album Nightwire.
Who is Dingo?
Dingo is the stage name of Brandon Dodd, a musician raised on the NSW Central Coast. In an interview with the Australian Associated Press published October 2, 2026, Dodd describes how music, family and touring have shaped his life.

His first guitar was a right-handed instrument at home. Dodd’s father, a left-handed butcher who had injured his hand at work, had relearned to play with his right hand. Dodd also grew up listening to the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Why does the dining table matter to him?
Dodd remembers sitting around the table with his parents and older brother, talking about life. How did Dodd join Kasey Chambers’ band?
Before joining Chambers’ band in his late teens, Dodd played in the blues-roots-rock duo Grizzlee Train. He recalls opening for the Eagles in 2015 as an intense experience. Looking back, he said: “I would do things differently (now) and take more time to appreciate things.”
What is life on the road like for Dodd and Chambers?
The AAP profile describes Chambers and Dodd travelling around Australia in a Chevrolet ute and caravan rather than flying between stops. Chambers had made that change years earlier, according to the article.
