Dinghai: The Ocean Pillar system requirements
The published requirements on Steam (2026) specify Windows 11 64-bit and separate minimum and recommended hardware classes. The official demo page repeats the same two tiers. These specifications describe the hardware targets supplied by the developer; they do not promise a particular frame rate or graphics preset.

What the minimum tier means
A system that meets the minimum list is within the stated entry-level target, but that is not a promise of high settings or a fixed frame rate. The minimum graphics examples are older or lower-tier parts than the recommended GPUs, and 16 GB of memory is half the recommended capacity. If your computer has exactly minimum-class hardware, plan to begin with reduced visual settings and adjust after checking frame pacing in actual play.

- [Deep Bass with Clear Vocals] High-performance drivers produce punchy bass while keeping vocals clean and detailed for everyday listening.
What the recommended tier means
The recommended list moves to six-core-class processors such as the Ryzen 5 5600 and Core i5-12400, doubles memory to 32 GB, and targets substantially faster graphics cards. Treat it as the better starting point for higher image quality and more headroom, not as a published 60-FPS guarantee. The requirements do not state a resolution, quality preset, or frame-rate goal.
Why the SSD note matters
Steam labels an SSD as recommended in both tiers. The listing does not provide an installation-size figure or claim that a hard drive is unsupported. An SSD is therefore best understood as the preferred storage configuration for installation and loading, while the published requirements do not establish a minimum drive capacity.
How to compare your PC with the requirements
- Confirm Windows. The listed operating-system target is Windows 11 64-bit. Check Settings > System > About and verify both the Windows edition and system type before comparing components.
- Check the processor model. Compare the exact CPU name, not only its clock speed, with the Ryzen 3 3100/Core i3-10100 minimum or Ryzen 5 5600/Core i5-12400 recommended examples.
- Check installed memory. 16 GB meets the stated minimum capacity; 32 GB matches the recommended tier. Background applications still consume memory, so close unnecessary launchers, browsers, and overlays when testing.
- Identify the active GPU. Compare the discrete or integrated adapter shown by Windows with the listed Radeon and GeForce examples. Laptop names can differ from desktop performance, so the model number alone should not be treated as a frame-rate prediction.
- Check the installation drive. If the game is installed on a hard disk, moving it to an SSD follows the developer’s storage recommendation and may improve loading behavior, although no measured loading result is published.
The tiers are reference points rather than a complete compatibility matrix. A machine between the two lists may run the game, but its result depends on resolution, graphics settings, drivers, thermal limits, and background load.

Can Dinghai: The Ocean Pillar run on Steam Deck?
Steam currently shows the full game’s Steam Deck Compatibility as Unknown. The demo listing does not display a Valve Verified, Playable, or Unsupported badge either. That means Valve has not published an official compatibility classification for the available listings.
No cited source supplies a Deck benchmark, target frame rate, battery-life estimate, shader-compilation behavior, or confirmed Proton version. You should therefore treat Deck play as unverified: it may be possible, but there is no official performance result to rely on when deciding whether to buy or install it for handheld use.
Recommended starting settings for Steam Deck
The following profile is an inference from the published PC requirements and the graphics options identified for the demo. It is not a developer-tested Deck configuration. Apply it in-game, then judge stability during the most demanding combat and traversal scenes.

- [Wide Compatible] Suitable for mixer, power amplifier, microphone, effector, decoder, equalizer, electoronic organ, electric guitar, electric bass and other electronic equipments. Widely used in the installation of smart home, karaoke speaker, professional stage audio, etc
- [Easy Disassemble] Making incidental repairs quick and easy! Very nice, flexible cable
- [Dont Hesite to Order] 24 hours customer services and professional technology team are standing by
- Set the game resolution to 1280×800. This matches the Steam Deck’s native display shape and avoids asking the handheld to render unnecessary pixels.
- Choose the Low preset first. Begin with the lowest preset so you have room to raise individual options after checking consistency. Try Medium only if frame pacing remains stable during combat.
- Enable an available upscaler. SteamDB detects AMD FSR upscaling and frame-generation SDKs, as well as NVIDIA DLSS and frame-generation SDKs, in the demo configuration. The exact options exposed on Deck can depend on the game build and platform, so use the upscaler the menu actually provides rather than assuming every SDK feature is available.
- Turn Motion Blur off. The demo later added a Motion Blur toggle. Disabling it generally produces a clearer handheld image and removes a post-processing effect that does not improve frame-rate consistency.
- Turn Depth of Field off. The same update added a Depth of Field toggle. Disable it while establishing a stable baseline; you can re-enable it later if image styling matters more than clarity.
- Start with a 30-FPS cap. A 30-FPS target is a consistency-first starting point, not an official game requirement. Test 40 FPS only if combat remains stable without repeated drops.
- Use a gamepad layout. The developer explicitly recommends playing with a controller. Select the game’s standard gamepad layout before attempting to tune mouse-and-keyboard bindings for handheld play.
How to tune after the first launch
- If frame pacing is uneven, keep the 30-FPS cap, remain on Low, and lower any remaining expensive effects before raising the preset.
- If performance is stable and the image is too soft, increase the upscaler quality mode or test Medium one change at a time.
- If combat causes sudden drops, return to the previous setting rather than judging the profile from a quiet area.
- If a graphics option is missing, use the controls exposed by the current build; the presence of an SDK in the demo configuration does not guarantee a selectable feature on Deck.
Controller support and input choices
The Steam store guidance says, “The developers recommend playing this game with a controller.” SteamDB also identifies full controller support in the demo configuration. A compatible gamepad is therefore the intended input method, particularly on Steam Deck. The recommendation does not specify a particular controller model, wired connection, layout, or remapping scheme.

The demo configuration includes AMD FSR upscaling and frame-generation SDKs, NVIDIA DLSS and frame-generation SDKs, and NVIDIA Reflex according to SteamDB’s technical identification. Those entries indicate technologies present in the build configuration; they are not a promise that every feature is selectable on every GPU or on Steam Deck.
Official demo update v0.0.0.76 added Motion Blur and Depth of Field toggles, improved system stability, optimized combat involving swords, dual blades, and bows, and fixed the screen-resolution settings and adjustment logic. If your menu behaves differently, check that the demo or game has updated before troubleshooting graphics settings.

Common pitfalls and practical fixes
Assuming “Unknown” means “Unsupported”
Unknown is a missing compatibility verdict, not a negative one. Steam has not assigned a Verified, Playable, or Unsupported label, so avoid treating the status as proof either way.
Expecting a guaranteed frame rate from the requirement table
The minimum and recommended lists contain component examples only. They do not state FPS, resolution, quality preset, or frame-time limits. Use an in-game cap and observe demanding scenes instead of converting the table into an unverified performance promise.

16 GB is the published minimum and 32 GB is the published recommendation. A PC with 16 GB may satisfy the minimum while still having less multitasking headroom than the recommended configuration.
Best Value
Ignoring the operating-system requirement
The listed target is Windows 11 64-bit. A faster processor or graphics card does not change that published OS requirement.
Testing only in a quiet area
The demo notes combat optimization for swords, dual blades, and bows, but no source publishes a Deck benchmark. Evaluate your settings during active combat as well as exploration, because a profile that appears smooth in a low-load scene may not remain consistent.
Buying or upgrading for this game
Use the recommended tier as a planning target if you are assembling a new Windows system specifically for Dinghai: The Ocean Pillar. Prioritize 32 GB of RAM, a recommended-class GPU such as the RX 6700 XT, RTX 3060 Ti, or RTX 4060, and an SSD. If you already own a minimum-class PC, try the Low preset and an upscaler before replacing hardware; the published data alone cannot identify which component will limit your particular system.
For Steam Deck owners, do not treat the PC table as a handheld certification. The Deck’s compatibility label remains Unknown, and the practical profile above should be tested with the option to refund or stop playing if your own unit cannot maintain an acceptable frame pace.
