ComplexCon’s official event site listed the 2026 convention for October 3 and 4 in Los Angeles, with the convention at the Los Angeles Convention Center and concerts at Crypto.com Arena.

A Complex preview of the event described Cash App’s “Lightning Lake,” where attendees could fish for bitcoin and transfer it to their Cash App accounts. It also reported that attendees could exchange bitcoin at a Bait House for event merchandise. Those details describe an activation; they do not establish that one person received a full bitcoin.
Did an attendee win one full bitcoin?
The available coverage does not verify that claim. It does not specify a one-bitcoin award, name a recipient, or give official eligibility and selection terms for a single-winner giveaway. No attributable statement from Jack Dorsey, Block, or an official event source in the available material confirms the alleged gift.

A reliable confirmation would need to establish the prize amount and rules, explain how the winner was selected, and identify the recipient or provide other credible evidence of the transfer. Until Block or ComplexCon confirms those details, the claim that Dorsey’s Block gave a lucky attendee one bitcoin should be treated as unverified—not as a confirmed giveaway.
