What DevTol says about privacy
DevTol says files, keys, and code are processed in browser memory and are not transmitted to its servers. Its FAQ states: “Every single operation runs 100% locally in your browser sandbox using JavaScript and WebAssembly.” This is the vendor’s description, not the result of an independent security audit or a tool-by-tool network test. The FAQ suggests checking the browser’s Network tab; that suggestion does not itself establish that no data leaves a device.
For a particular sensitive file, credential, or code sample, verify the specific operation rather than relying on a suite-wide slogan. In the browser’s developer tools, open the Network tab, clear existing entries, run the operation using non-sensitive sample data, and inspect requests made during processing. Check whether any request sends document contents or input to an external service. A lack of an obvious upload is useful evidence for that session, but it is not a substitute for an audit of the application or every feature.

What “offline” means here
DevTol describes the site as a Progressive Web App and says a service worker caches scripts and styles so the suite can be used offline after it has loaded. That wording implies a prerequisite: the app and assets needed by a feature must be available in the browser before the network is disconnected. It does not establish that every tool works offline, that every asset is cached automatically, or that offline behavior is supported across all browsers and devices.

- Test that feature with a non-sensitive sample and confirm the expected output.
- Disconnect from the network and repeat the test. If it fails, the app or a required dependency may not have been cached.

- Document fidelity: Will the operation preserve signatures, form fields, metadata, and accessible text that must remain intact?
The reviewed descriptions do not establish comparative speed, reliability, file-size limits, or preservation results. Test any consequential workflow on a copy and inspect the result before relying on it.
