A Huawei foldable phone is a Huawei smartphone with a flexible display that folds, so the device can be used in more than one screen configuration. “Huawei foldable phone” describes a product category, not a single model. Huawei’s current examples include the Mate X6, a book-style foldable with a cover screen for use while closed, and the Mate XT ULTIMATE DESIGN, a tri-fold that offers single-, dual-, and triple-screen configurations.
What makes a phone a foldable
The defining feature is the folding display and the change it produces in usable screen space. A conventional phone has one fixed screen. A foldable can present a smaller screen when closed, a larger main screen when opened, or, on tri-fold designs, several panels that can be arranged in different ways. When you compare Huawei models, the useful question is which screen states the device offers and how big each one is, not simply whether it “folds.”

Both entries are manufacturer figures for the specific product page named. Neither page establishes which configuration is sold in your country, so treat the table as a description of the design, not a purchasing guide.

Model example: HUAWEI Mate X6
The Mate X6 is the clearest example of Huawei’s book-style design. Huawei’s Qatar product specifications list the following for the configuration it describes, all as manufacturer-published figures rather than independent test results.
Display and memory
- Main OLED screen: 7.93 inches. Cover OLED screen: 6.45 inches.
- Both screens use an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz (LTPO).
- Software: EMUI 15.0. Memory and storage: 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage, for that configuration only.
Battery and charging
The page lists a 5,110 mAh typical battery capacity, with a rated capacity of 4,990 mAh. Huawei states wired SuperCharge up to 66 W and wireless SuperCharge up to 50 W. Those speeds depend on Huawei chargers and on the conditions the page describes, so a generic charger may not deliver them.

- The first foldable phone engineered by Google, Pixel Fold has all the power of the Google Tensor G2 chip in a thin, pocket-size design; it’s made with polished aluminum and matte glass and comes in elegant colors
- Enjoy seamless multitasking with Split Screen[1]; drag two apps up from the taskbar to quickly open them side by side, or open two tabs in Chrome to shop and compare
- Unlocked Android 5G phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan[2]; works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers
- With Pixel Fold’s unique form and amazing camera, you can express your creativity with brilliant rear camera selfies and low-light photos and videos, all powered by Pixel’s triple rear camera system and Google Tensor G2’s advanced image processing
- Pixel Fold is a full Pixel phone on the outside; unfold it to multitask on the big inner display, or prop it on a surface to take photos, and watch movies and videos, hands-free
Water resistance
The page gives an IPX8 rating and describes the controlled laboratory conditions behind it. IPX8 is a test result under those conditions, not a promise of permanent protection in everyday use. Huawei’s page also warns that water resistance may decrease over time, and it states that water damage is not covered by the warranty. If a phone has been exposed to liquid, the rating should not be read as a reason to ignore the damage.
What is in the box
The Qatar page lists a rotating-stand PU case among the box contents. Charger and cable inclusion varies by market, so the contents of a phone sold elsewhere may differ.

- T-Mobile Unlocked Device is Fully Unlocked and is compatible with other GSM carriers and CDMA carriers such as Verizon, Metro, Boost, Sprint, etc,.
Other form: HUAWEI Mate XT ULTIMATE DESIGN
The Mate XT ULTIMATE DESIGN shows that Huawei’s foldable category includes tri-fold devices. Its global specification page lists three configurations: 6.4 inches in single-screen form, 7.9 inches in dual-screen form, and 10.2 inches in triple-screen form. That page confirms the design and the three states, but it does not establish whether the phone is on sale in any particular country.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to check a Huawei foldable before buying
- Fold form and screen states. Confirm whether the model is book-style or tri-fold, and which screen sizes apply to the state you will use most.
- Exact model and local variant. Check the SKU, software version, network bands, and warranty for your market, since manufacturer specifications can vary by market.
- Included accessories. Confirm which charger, cable, and case come in the box for your region rather than assuming the Qatar contents.
- Charging equipment. If you rely on the advertised fast-charging speeds, confirm that the required Huawei charger is available locally.
- Protection. Read the IP rating’s test conditions and the warranty terms together. A rating describes a lab test, not coverage for liquid damage.
The Mate X6 and Mate XT ULTIMATE DESIGN are not interchangeable. Using one model’s specifications to describe the other will produce errors in screen size, screen states, and accessories.
