Start with this diagnostic checklist
Before changing Windows, confirm four things:
- The error appears when launching CorelDRAW or Corel Graphics Suite 11, not a game or unrelated program.
- The message names
crliui110.dll, with wording such as “was not found,” “is missing,” or “could not be loaded.” - The problem began after reinstalling CorelDRAW, cleaning the disk, an antivirus event, moving the program folder, or a Windows or driver change.
- CorelDRAW 11 is a 32-bit application running on either 32-bit or 64-bit Windows.

One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchcrliui110.dll is a CorelDRAW application file, not a Windows system DLL. It is identified as “Corel User Interface” and belongs to the old CorelDRAW/Corel Graphics Suite 11 product family. The safest repair is to restore the complete matching CorelDRAW installation, not to download this one file.
What the error means
You may see one of these Windows loader messages:
- “This application failed to start because crliui110.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.”
- “The program can’t start because crliui110.dll is missing from your computer.”
- “crliui110.dll was not found.”
- “The code execution cannot proceed because crliui110.dll was not found.”
- “crliui110.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.”
The wording points to a loader failure, but it does not prove that the DLL itself is the only problem. Windows may find crliui110.dll and then fail because another dependency is missing, the file is damaged, or the DLL does not match the rest of the CorelDRAW installation.

Historical inventories place the file in CorelDRAW’s Programs directory, typically resembling:

The exact installation path can differ. The important point is that it should normally sit beside the CorelDRAW executable and its other application modules. It does not normally belong in:

Windows searches an ordinary desktop application’s own directory early in the DLL loading process. Putting a replacement in a system directory can therefore hide the real installation problem and introduce a wrong-version file into other software.
Fix 1: Repair CorelDRAW from its installer
This is the fastest and most reliable fix when the file was deleted, corrupted, or partially removed.
Use the Windows repair entry
- Close CorelDRAW and any other Corel applications.
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type
appwiz.cpland press Enter. - In Programs and Features, locate the installed CorelDRAW or Corel Graphics Suite entry.
- Select it and choose Change, Modify, or double-click the entry.
- In the Corel setup wizard, choose Repair.
- Continue through the wizard and allow it to restore missing application files.
- Restart Windows.
- Launch CorelDRAW from its normal shortcut.
Corel’s repair workflow is designed to restore missing or corrupted program files, shortcuts, and relevant installation entries. Older CorelDRAW 11 media may use different wizard labels, so look for Repair, Modify, or a comparable maintenance option.
If Repair is unavailable
Use the original legitimate CorelDRAW installer or installation disc.
- Back up any custom templates, fonts, workspaces, and personal files you need.
- Open Settings with Windows key + I.
- Select Apps, then Installed apps on Windows 11, or Apps & features on Windows 10.
- Find CorelDRAW or Corel Graphics Suite.
- Select Uninstall and complete the removal.
- Restart Windows.
- Run the original Corel installer as administrator. To do that, right-click the installer and choose Run as administrator.
- Install the same CorelDRAW release rather than mixing files from another release.
- Apply only updates intended for that product and release.
- Restart Windows and test CorelDRAW.
If the installer offers to keep user settings, retain them unless the installation is clearly damaged. If a clean reinstall still fails, the issue may be compatibility with the current Windows release rather than a missing DLL.
A successful repair normally produces one of two results: CorelDRAW starts normally, or the error changes to identify a different missing dependency. A changed error is useful because it shows that the loader progressed further.
Fix 2: Check antivirus quarantine
Security software can remove or quarantine an old application module after an update or scan. That does not automatically mean crliui110.dll is malware. It means you should verify the file’s origin before restoring anything.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Check Windows Security
- Open Start and search for Windows Security.
- Open it and select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review recent entries for CorelDRAW, its installation folder, or
crliui110.dll. - Expand an entry to inspect its location and detection details.
- If the file came from your original, legitimate Corel installer, use the available Restore or Allow on device action only after confirming that source.
- Restart Windows and test CorelDRAW.
If you are not certain the quarantined file came from the genuine installer, do not restore it. Reinstall CorelDRAW from trusted licensed media instead. Never add a broad exclusion for the entire Windows directory or an unknown download folder.
If the file keeps disappearing immediately after repair, run a full security scan and inspect the installer source. A DLL found in a temporary folder, a browser download directory, or an unrelated program directory deserves additional scrutiny.
Fix 3: Confirm the correct CorelDRAW path and matching files
A file can exist on the drive while CorelDRAW still cannot load it.
- Right-click the CorelDRAW shortcut.
- Select Properties.
- Open the Shortcut tab.
- Select Open File Location.
- Look for
crliui110.dllin the same application directory as the CorelDRAW executable. - If Windows opens a different copy elsewhere, do not move that copy into the Corel folder.
- Use the Corel repair or reinstall process to restore the correct file.
Do not combine crliui110.dll from one Corel release with CorelDrw110.exe or other *110.dll modules from another installation. Matching application modules are built and installed as a set. A copied DLL may remove the first message while causing a version mismatch, an invalid-image error, or a crash later.
Historical listings report multiple file versions, including 11.245.0.0, 11.633, and 11.693. These are observed historical values, not a universal version that every installation must contain. There is no verified current official standalone download or canonical current hash for this file.
Fix 4: Investigate a missing dependency
If the file is present but Windows reports that it is invalid, not designed to run, or still cannot load it, another DLL may be the real failure.
Pay attention to any new filename in the error. For example, if repairing CorelDRAW changes the message from crliui110.dll to another runtime or system component, troubleshoot that newly named dependency instead of downloading another copy of crliui110.dll.
Check Microsoft Visual C++ runtimes
crliui110.dll is not itself a Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable file. An old Corel application can nevertheless depend on runtime libraries.
Recommended Free Tools
Because public metadata identifies crliui110.dll as a 32-bit Win32 DLL, x86 dependencies are the relevant architecture. On 64-bit Windows, a 64-bit runtime does not supply the 32-bit libraries required by a 32-bit application.
- Open Microsoft’s latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads.
- Download the x86 package, shown as
vc_redist.x86.exe, from Microsoft. - Run the installer.
- Choose Repair if the package is already installed, or install it if it is absent.
- Restart Windows.
- Test CorelDRAW again.
The current v14 package is not proof that it is the exact runtime CorelDRAW 11 needs. Do not assume a modern runtime will repair every old application. If the error names another dependency, use that filename and the original Corel installer as your guide.
Do not remove other Visual C++ packages merely because CorelDRAW fails. Multiple runtime generations can coexist, and unrelated programs may need them.
Fix 5: Check Windows compatibility
CorelDRAW 11 is a legacy 32-bit application. A 64-bit version of Windows can run many 32-bit desktop programs, but that does not turn CorelDRAW 11 into a 64-bit application or guarantee compatibility.
Corel’s modern supported products target current Windows environments. Earlier Corel versions were supported only on the Windows releases for which they were designed. Therefore, Windows 10 or Windows 11 may be able to launch CorelDRAW 11, but compatibility should not be assumed.
Try compatibility settings
- Right-click the CorelDRAW executable or shortcut.
- Select Properties.
- Open the Compatibility tab.
- Select Run this program in compatibility mode for.
- Choose an older Windows version from the list.
- Select Run this program as an administrator if the application requires it.
- Select Apply, then OK.
- Launch CorelDRAW again.
If the program still fails after a complete repair, the installation may be intact but incompatible with the current operating system. In that situation, use the licensed legacy installation in an appropriate older Windows environment or move to a supported CorelDRAW release.

Compatibility mode cannot create crliui110.dll, repair a damaged installer, or make incompatible dependencies valid.
Fix 6: Repair Windows components only when other programs are affected
SFC and DISM repair protected Windows components. They do not normally recreate a missing third-party CorelDRAW DLL. Use them when several Windows applications are failing, Windows Update is damaged, or system files are also reporting errors.
Run DISM, then SFC
- Open Start.
- Type
Command Prompt. - Right-click Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator.
- Select Yes at the User Account Control prompt.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for it to finish. This can take time.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows when both commands finish.
- Test CorelDRAW.
If SFC reports that it repaired files, test the broader Windows problem again. If both commands report no integrity violations but CorelDRAW still shows the same error, return to Corel’s repair or reinstall process. SFC cannot be expected to restore an application-owned file.
Running Outbyte PC Repair can reduce the guesswork of repeating SFC and DISM manually because its free scan shows what it identifies, while repair is completed by the full version; reinstalling CorelDRAW remains the definitive fix for this application DLL.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Fix 7: Consider a recent update or driver change
A graphics driver usually does not supply crliui110.dll, but a recent driver, Windows update, or system utility can expose an existing compatibility problem.
Check Device Manager
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click your graphics adapter and select Properties.
- Open the Driver tab.
- Review the driver date and available options.
- If the problem began immediately after a driver update, select Roll Back Driver if available.
- If rollback is unavailable, obtain the correct driver from the computer or graphics hardware manufacturer.
- Restart Windows and test CorelDRAW.
Do not randomly uninstall devices or install a 64-bit driver expecting it to replace a 32-bit application DLL. Driver changes are secondary troubleshooting here, not the primary repair.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
When manually checking every device, Outbyte Driver Updater can scan for outdated drivers and show what it finds, while driver installation is handled by the full version; it is not a substitute for repairing the matching CorelDRAW installation.
Try System Restore after a known change
If CorelDRAW worked immediately before a driver or software installation:
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type
rstrui.exeand press Enter. - Select Next.
- Choose a restore point from before the failure.
- Select Scan for affected programs if available.
- Confirm the restore point and select Finish.
- Allow Windows to restart.
System Restore does not normally delete personal documents, but it can reverse applications, drivers, and system settings installed after the selected restore point.
What not to do
Do not download an isolated DLL
Random DLL download sites can provide malware, a wrong build, a damaged file, or a file intended for another Corel release. Even an authentic-looking copy may fail because its dependent modules, registry entries, installer state, or application files are missing.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Use the original licensed Corel installer, the installed suite’s repair option, or Corel’s official support channels instead.
Do not copy it into System32 or SysWOW64
Those folders are not general-purpose storage for application DLLs. System32 is used for system components, while SysWOW64 is part of 32-bit compatibility on 64-bit Windows. Neither is the normal home for a CorelDRAW application module.
Do not run regsvr32 blindly
regsvr32 is for DLLs that expose registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. There is no reliable evidence that crliui110.dll is a self-registering COM or ActiveX component.
Do not use:
regsvr32 crliui110.dll
This will not recreate a missing Corel installation and may produce an entry-point or dependency error. Repair the application instead.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesDo not enable random Windows Features
Turning Windows features on or off does not normally restore an application DLL. Only enable a specific feature when an error explicitly identifies that feature or a trusted application installer requests it.
FAQ
Is crliui110.dll part of Windows?
No. It is associated with CorelDRAW/Corel Graphics Suite 11 and is described as the Corel User Interface module.
Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?
Public metadata identifies it as Win32, or 32-bit. A 64-bit Windows installation can host the old application, but the application and its dependencies must still match the 32-bit architecture.
Where should crliui110.dll be located?
Normally in CorelDRAW’s own Programs directory beside the application executable, not in System32 or SysWOW64.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Why does the error remain when the file exists?
The file may be corrupt, the wrong build, blocked by security software, or unable to load one of its dependencies. Repair the full application and follow any changed error message.
Is crliui110.dll malware?
The filename itself belongs to an old CorelDRAW module. A copy found outside the Corel installation directory should not be trusted automatically. Scan it and prefer reinstalling from legitimate media.
Will installing Visual C++ fix it?
Only if a missing runtime is the actual dependency problem. Install the Microsoft x86 package when appropriate, but do not assume the latest runtime is guaranteed to repair CorelDRAW 11.
Does regsvr32 fix this DLL?
Normally no. It is not a general missing-DLL repair command, and this file is not established as a self-registering component.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
