Yes. Alexa can control supported devices connected to Samsung SmartThings after you enable the SmartThings skill, link your Samsung account, and discover devices. Compatibility is not universal: Amazon warns that some SmartThings devices and features are not fully supported, so check the exact model and command you want to use.
How to connect Alexa and SmartThings

Discover devices in Alexa so supported SmartThings devices can appear for control. Amazon’s general smart-home instructions also describe adding a device through Devices, the plus icon, and Add Device; for this integration, use the SmartThings skill’s account-linking process rather than assuming each device must be paired directly with Alexa. Amazon’s skill listing describes access to thousands of “Works with SmartThings” devices and names categories that include televisions, speakers, household appliances, lights, switches, dimmers, outlets, door locks, thermostats, and sensors. It also lists Samsung TVs, soundbars, Galaxy SmartTags, ovens and ranges, air conditioners, robot vacuums, microwaves, washers, dryers, and dishwashers.

These are categories, not a model-by-model compatibility guarantee. Amazon generally describes support for Samsung devices from 2018 onward, but directs users to account for device and feature differences. Confirm the exact model, region, and function in the product documentation and SmartThings skill information.

Samsung TV power: The TV must be connected to the internet over Wi-Fi for power-on commands; Amazon says this does not work over Ethernet. Channel changes apply to the TV’s antenna input, not a cable set-top box.

Other controls: The listing gives examples such as dimming a light, operating blinds, setting a thermostat, pausing a TV or soundbar, and asking whether a sensor reports an open door. Treat these as examples for supported devices, not a promise that every model or function will work.

Is Matter a different way to connect?
Yes. Amazon documents a separate Matter route: supported Echo devices can connect locally to compatible Matter devices. Amazon lists categories such as lights, plugs, sensors, locks, window coverings, thermostats, fans, air purifiers, and some appliances. This is a distinct connection path; it does not establish that a particular SmartThings device supports Matter or remove the need for the SmartThings skill when you are using that integration. Confirm the device’s exact model and region in the manufacturer’s documentation.

Check that the specific Alexa command or function you need is supported, not just that the product category appears in the skill listing.

Decide whether the device is already available through the SmartThings skill or whether it supports direct Matter pairing with a compatible Echo.
