There is no current, officially published hardware specification for a Conan Exiles Enhanced dedicated server. Funcom’s only detailed server-sizing table is dated August 21, 2017: it lists 8 GB of RAM for 10- and 35-player tiers, 12 GB for 70 players, and 35 GB of disk space for each tier. Those figures describe the older server guidance and should not be treated as validated requirements for the Enhanced/UE5 release.
Godlike.Host offers hosted Conan Exiles servers with its own game panel, SFTP access and free DDoS protection, if you would rather not host it yourself.
For a reliable decision, separate three questions: the historical capacity table, the requirements for the Enhanced game client, and the practical choice between self-hosting and renting. They are different workloads and have different compatibility risks.

What the official server requirements actually say
Funcom’s development team published a dedicated-server sizing table on August 21, 2017. It is useful as historical context, but it predates the Enhanced/UE5 transition. The table gives example CPU, memory and disk specifications for three player-count tiers:

These numbers come from Funcom’s development team in its 2017 setup article. They are not a current Enhanced recommendation, and the page does not establish how modern mods, operating-system overhead, world activity or future updates affect capacity. Do not use the table to promise a specific number of players on a new UE5 server.

In particular, the table is not evidence that an eight-year-old dual-core machine is suitable today. It records the examples Funcom published at that time, not a present-day minimum, and it does not provide a current performance target for a modded or heavily populated world.
Do not confuse client requirements with server requirements
Funcom’s Enhanced system-requirements page specifies the PC that runs the game client. It lists 16 GB of RAM as both minimum and recommended memory and requires an SSD, alongside client CPU and GPU requirements.

A dedicated server runs simulation, persistence, networking and (depending on the setup) mod content without rendering the game. A player PC must render the world and process graphics; a server does not. Therefore, copying the client’s 16 GB figure into a server shopping list would conflate two workloads. Conversely, the old server table cannot be used to determine whether a player’s gaming PC meets Enhanced requirements.
As of the material Funcom has published, the current minimum and recommended hardware for an Enhanced dedicated server is not established. If you are buying a machine specifically for Enhanced self-hosting, treat any precise modern CPU or RAM recommendation as an estimate unless the host or Funcom documents the target version and workload.

Choose a hosting model before buying hardware
Self-hosting on a PC
Self-hosting gives you control over files, configuration, backups and mods. Funcom’s 2018 guidance says dedicated-server self-hosting is available on PC and presents rental hosting as the alternative. You supply the machine, operating-system maintenance, internet connection, firewall rules and recovery plan. Electricity, upload bandwidth and a stable public address also become your responsibility.
Renting a game server
A rental provider supplies the machine and usually exposes a control panel for startup, settings, backups and mod management. This avoids maintaining a server computer and configuring your home router, but the provider must support the exact game edition and platform you need. Funcom’s current Enhanced FAQ says it is working with select providers and advises customers to contact providers for details. Availability, pricing and features can differ by country.

- Mod support, including installation method and update handling.
- Backup frequency, download access and migration options.
- Data-center region, cancellation terms and restoration procedure.
Funcom’s older forum guidance names G-Portal as an official partner in a May 2018 post, but that statement is historical. It does not prove current Enhanced compatibility or availability in your region. Verify the present offering directly with any provider.

How to self-host the official dedicated server
Funcom’s dedicated-server instructions are centered on the Steam version for PC. The basic process is:
- Install the server application. In Steam, open Library, select Tools, find Conan Exiles Dedicated Server, and install it. Keep the game client and server on compatible versions; Funcom states that they must match.
- Locate the configuration files. The installation contains the server configuration files used by the Unreal-based server.
- Set the public name and optional join password. In
Engine.ini, configureServerNameandServerPasswordas described in Funcom’s official dedicated-server guide. - Set administrator access. In
ServerSettings.ini, configureAdminPassword. Use a unique password and do not publish it in a public server listing. - Allow the executable through the firewall. Create the required inbound rules for the ports below. Funcom notes that a firewall exception may be needed for visibility in the Steam server browser.
- Start the server. Launch
StartServer.bator runConanSandboxServer.exe, depending on your installation and management method. - Test from another connection. Have a player outside your home network search for the server or connect using the address and port. Testing from the same LAN can hide router or firewall mistakes.
Funcom’s page contains the exact configuration names and platform scope. Keep a copy of the configuration and world-save directories before changing settings or installing mods.
Ports and network rules
The default network details documented by Funcom include these entries. If you change a port, update the server settings, firewall and router together, then retest.

Do not open every port to the internet by default. Restrict management access, use the host firewall as well as the router, and remove unused rules. The authoritative port list and exceptions are on Funcom’s setup page.

Version and platform compatibility
Enhanced changes the compatibility question more than a simple hardware upgrade would. Funcom’s Enhanced servers-and-mods FAQ explains that official PC servers are moving to Enhanced/UE5 while console servers remain on UE4. That means a server can be reachable yet still unusable if its edition does not match the clients joining it.
Confirm the following before migration or purchase:
- The server build and every client are on the same supported version.
- Your platform is supported by that build; PC self-hosting guidance does not establish a console self-hosting route.
- Existing mods have Enhanced-compatible versions. A Legacy mod list should not be assumed to work unchanged.
- World saves and settings can be restored or migrated under the provider’s policy.
Funcom’s Enhanced information page and help-center FAQ should be checked again when you schedule a move, because provider readiness and transition details can change.
How much CPU, RAM and storage should you plan for?
RAM
The only quantified dedicated-server figures established here are 8 GB for the 10- and 35-player historical tiers and 12 GB for the 70-player tier. They are a baseline from 2017, not a promise of modern capacity. Leave room for the operating system, logs, updates and mod behavior rather than treating the table’s number as a guaranteed ceiling; however, no official source in this material quantifies the required headroom.
CPU
Funcom’s examples progress from a Core2Duo 6850 to an i5-2400 and i7-6700 as the listed player tier increases. The article does not translate those examples into current core counts, clock speeds or Enhanced performance targets. CPU load can vary with simultaneous activity, AI, construction and script-heavy mods, so a current processor comparison would be speculation without a documented workload.
Storage
Each historical tier lists 35 GB of disk space. That is the published server figure, not a complete modern capacity plan. Reserve additional space for updates, backups, logs and mod files, and use reliable storage so a disk failure does not destroy the world. Funcom’s Enhanced client page’s SSD requirement applies to the player client, not automatically to a dedicated server.
Troubleshooting common failures
The server does not appear in the browser
- Confirm the process is running and listening on the configured ports.
- Check UDP 7777, UDP 7778 and the PC query port 27015 in both the operating-system firewall and router.
- Verify the server has a reachable public address and that your internet provider is not placing you behind carrier-grade NAT.
- Test from an external network; a local test can succeed even when inbound traffic is blocked.
Players receive a version or mod mismatch
- Compare the client and server build numbers.
- Make the mod list and load order identical for every player.
- Check whether each mod has an Enhanced/UE5 release rather than assuming Legacy compatibility.
RCON or administration does not work
- Verify the TCP 25575 rule and the configured RCON settings.
- Do not expose the management port broadly; restrict it to trusted addresses where possible.
- Change credentials immediately if they have appeared in logs, screenshots or public chat.
A practical decision rule
Use self-hosting when you have a PC that can remain online, control of the network, confidence managing firewall and backups, and a group willing to tolerate maintenance windows. Rent when uptime, a provider-managed network and a web control panel matter more than filesystem control. In either case, the decisive purchase check is not an old RAM table: it is confirmation that the server edition, platform, mods and region match the clients you intend to support.
For current Enhanced hardware, Funcom has not published a definitive dedicated-server minimum or recommendation in the sources above. Treat the 2017 table as historical guidance, keep the 16 GB Enhanced figure confined to the client PC, and obtain version-specific requirements from the hosting provider or a new official specification before committing money to a build.
