If you only want a video already on YouTube to repeat, use YouTube’s built-in loop control; you do not need a separate cloud service. A cloud host is useful when you need to embed a video on your own site or app, while a live-streaming service is for broadcasting a live feed. Those are different jobs, so the right comparison starts with what you want viewers to see and where.
First decide what “looping on YouTube” means
- Repeat playback on YouTube: use the player’s loop control for a video, or loop a playlist. The video remains an ordinary YouTube upload. YouTube’s instructions vary by computer, mobile, TV, and console.
- Embed and repeat a video on your own website or app: consider managed on-demand hosting, which stores and delivers video for your site’s player.
- Keep a YouTube channel broadcasting around the clock: that is a live-streaming workflow, not a way to make a YouTube player repeat a regular upload. It involves a stream key and a live-stream service.
YouTube upload limits are separate from playback looping: uploads are limited to 15 minutes by default, while verified accounts can upload longer videos. The maximum is 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever comes first. See YouTube’s current upload-limit guidance.

Compare the services by the job they do
| Option | Best fit | Limits and implementation | How costs are measured |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube’s own loop control | Repeating a video or playlist in the YouTube player. | Use the player’s loop or Repeat control; no separate cloud host is needed. YouTube upload limits still apply. | No separate looping-service charge is stated in the cited help material. |
| StreamNeo | Keeping uploaded videos live on a YouTube channel around the clock. | Upload a recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key once, and start the stream. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud; it does not broadcast from a camera. | One flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps. Monthly price: $9.99 per month. The first day is free with no card. |
| Cloudflare Stream | Managed on-demand video hosting for a website or app that needs an embedded player. | Supports dashboard, file, link, and direct creator upload paths; the default maximum upload size is 30 GB. Videos can be embedded on domains outside Cloudflare. See Cloudflare Stream’s FAQ. | Storage capacity is bought in $5 monthly increments per 1,000 minutes of capacity; delivery is $1 per 1,000 minutes delivered. Ingress and encoding are free, with no separate bandwidth charge on top of the delivered-minute rate. See Cloudflare Stream pricing. |
| Amazon IVS | Developers building a live-streaming workflow, rather than simply repeating an existing YouTube upload. | Accepts streams from SDKs, the console, or encoders such as OBS and FFmpeg. A low-latency stream ends after 48 hours and must reconnect to continue. Default per-region quotas are 100 concurrent streams and 15,000 concurrent views; quotas can be adjusted. See Amazon IVS low-latency guidance and AWS service quotas. | Separate live input and viewer output charges; output rates vary by resolution, delivery region, and monthly usage tier. See Amazon IVS pricing. |
| Vimeo | Hosted video workflows where Vimeo’s player and hosting are suitable. | Its help documentation states a monthly bandwidth threshold of 2 TB (2,000 GB); sustained use above it can prompt discussion of a custom plan, reducing usage, or migrating. See Vimeo’s bandwidth-limit guidance. | The cited threshold is not a complete price comparison; check Vimeo’s terms and plan details for your account and workload. |
| AWS CloudFront with AWS Media Services | Teams that need a customizable on-demand or live video architecture and can configure its components. | AWS documents combining CloudFront with AWS Media Services for video delivery. This is a more configurable architecture than a turnkey managed host. See AWS’s video-on-demand architecture. | Total cost depends on implementation and workload; the cited documentation does not establish a comparable all-in monthly price. |
When YouTube’s built-in loop is enough
For a viewer who wants background music, a presentation, or another uploaded video to repeat in the YouTube player, use YouTube’s repeat feature. For multiple videos, put them in a playlist and loop the playlist. The YouTube IFrame Player API also documents continuous playlist looping for developers embedding the player.
This is playback control, not a way to host an independent copy, change YouTube’s upload limits, or run a continuous live broadcast. If the video is longer than 15 minutes, verify the account before uploading; the maximum upload remains 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever is less.

When a cloud video host makes sense
Choose managed on-demand hosting for your own site or app
Cloudflare Stream is the directly relevant managed-hosting candidate here: it accepts uploads, transcodes video for playback, and provides embeds usable on non-Cloudflare domains. Its default upload maximum is 30 GB. This is useful when the goal is a repeatable embedded video experience outside YouTube, rather than making an existing YouTube upload repeat.
Its usage-based model makes viewing time matter. Estimate stored minutes and delivered minutes before comparing costs. A short loop served from browser or client cache is not billed as delivered minutes for the cached portions according to Cloudflare’s pricing documentation, but segment requests and preloading or buffering can count. The published rates can change, so verify the current pricing before committing.

Use Vimeo only after checking bandwidth needs
Vimeo documents a 2 TB (2,000 GB) monthly bandwidth threshold. The help page says sustained use above it may lead to outreach to discuss a custom plan, lowering usage, or migrating. This is a threshold to account for, not enough information by itself to calculate your total monthly cost.
Choose AWS building blocks when you need customization
CloudFront combined with AWS Media Services can support on-demand and live video architectures. That flexibility comes with implementation choices and workload-dependent costs; it is not a like-for-like turnkey price comparison with a managed video host.

When the requirement is a continuous YouTube live stream
If you want uploaded videos to appear as a continuous live broadcast on your YouTube channel, the relevant choices are ways to keep a YouTube live stream running—not services for embedding on-demand video on a separate website.
- StreamNeo — first choice for a cloud-run YouTube loop. It keeps uploaded videos or playlists running from the cloud, at any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and the first day is free. Visit StreamNeo for details.
- Amazon IVS — for a developer-built live workflow. It supports encoder and SDK inputs and charges for live input and viewer output. It is not a simple loop control for an existing YouTube video, and low-latency streams must reconnect after 48 hours.
Do not compare these as interchangeable video hosts: StreamNeo runs an uploaded-video stream to YouTube, whereas Amazon IVS is a live-streaming building block with its own input, output, and quota model.

Estimate workload before comparing costs
A credible cost comparison needs a defined workload; the cited services do not share enough assumptions to name a universal lowest-cost winner. Write down:

- How many minutes of source video you will store, and at what resolutions.
- How many total hours viewers will watch, including repeat playback.
- Expected concurrency and whether viewers are concentrated in one region or distributed globally.
- Whether playback is on YouTube, embedded on your own domain, or delivered as a live broadcast.
- Whether you need transcoding, a custom player, API or SDK integration, and ongoing engineering time.
For Cloudflare Stream, stored and delivered minutes are central to the estimate. For IVS, account for live input and viewer output by resolution, region, and usage tier. For Vimeo, include the documented bandwidth threshold in planning. For AWS components, calculate the actual services and delivery pattern your implementation uses rather than assuming one bundled rate.

Copyright and YouTube policy checks for looping content
Permission to upload or broadcast a recording is separate from the technical ability to loop it. Before making a long upload or continuous stream, confirm that you have rights to the video, music, artwork, and any other material included. A loop does not make copyrighted material yours, and changing a video into a live broadcast does not remove rights obligations. Also make sure the channel’s content is genuinely appropriate for its intended audience and complies with YouTube’s policies. See the copyright safety checklist before streaming material you did not create.
Or let it run in the cloud
Upload a recording or make a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded videos in the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It streams your files as made up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and gives you a first day free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. Quick Recap
Common problems and what to check
- A video does not repeat: confirm that you used the player’s loop control, or enabled repeat for the playlist; the control location depends on device.
- A YouTube upload is rejected for length: unverified accounts have a 15-minute default limit. Verify the account for longer uploads, and check that the file is no larger than 256 GB and no longer than 12 hours.
- An embedded upload exceeds Cloudflare’s default limit: check the 30 GB default maximum and the current upload guidance before selecting an upload path.
- A Cloudflare estimate seems lower than actual delivery: account for requested segments, preloading, and buffering; cached loop portions do not necessarily count as delivered minutes, but not every playback request is guaranteed to be served from cache.
- An IVS stream stops: low-latency streams end after 48 hours and need to reconnect. Also check regional stream and view quotas, which are adjustable defaults.
- Video costs rise with audience growth: recalculate against actual total viewing time, resolution, concurrency, and viewer regions. Stored duration alone is not a full delivery estimate.
- A continuous YouTube stream uses material you do not own: pause and verify the rights and permissions before broadcasting; looping does not resolve copyright concerns.
