Colorlib Wizard 8 is a free, four-step checkout frontend designed for food stores and online ordering. It gives a site a checkout interface, not a complete ecommerce operation: to accept real payments and manage orders, you must connect it to a backend.
What Colorlib Wizard 8 is
Colorlib presents Wizard 8 as a food-store checkout template that can also be used for online food ordering. Its central feature is a four-step wizard intended for desktop and mobile visitors. It is a frontend starting point for a checkout experience, rather than a ready-to-run store.

Colorlib’s Wizard 8 page identifies Colorlib as the author and lists the license as CC BY 3.0. The page displays March 15, 2021 near the title while also describing the template as released or updated in September 2026; it does not explain how those dates relate.
What the template includes
According to Colorlib’s September 2026 page update, Wizard 8 uses HTML and CSS with a few lines of vanilla JavaScript. Colorlib says it does not require jQuery, Bootstrap files, or plugins, and that it can be used on its own or placed in a Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 project. The page lists the download size as 274 KB, down from 1.0 MB. These are specifications reported by Colorlib, not independently measured results.

Colorlib also says the wizard steps work without a plugin and the show-password toggle works without jQuery. Those descriptions do not establish how the template behaves in every browser or whether it meets a particular accessibility or usability standard.
Can Wizard 8 run a real checkout?
Not by itself. The template provides the interface customers see; a live store also needs systems that handle products and cart state, shipping and tax rules, payment, order records, and fulfillment. Colorlib’s ecommerce guidance explains that a frontend template needs a backend connection for payment processing and order management.

Colorlib names Snipcart, Shopify Buy Button, Stripe Checkout, and WooCommerce as examples of ecommerce tools or services. The Wizard 8 page does not establish that any of these is built in or already integrated. You would need to choose and configure a backend that fits your store, then connect it to the checkout interface.

The right choice depends on whether you need a mockup or a transactional store, what backend your project already uses, and how much control you want over payment and order logic. Colorlib lists backend examples but does not compare their pricing, suitability for Wizard 8, or integration effort.

What to verify before using it
- Confirm the current download, license terms, and date information on the official template page.
- Inspect the downloaded files and test the four-step flow and password toggle in the browsers and devices your customers use.
- Plan and test backend connections for cart contents, shipping and tax calculations, payment, order storage, and fulfillment before accepting live orders.
- Check that your implementation communicates errors clearly and handles incomplete, changed, or failed orders safely.
