The Steelcraft Agile Elite is a discontinued Australian travel-system stroller, so it is chiefly a second-hand buy. CHOICE’s 2018 entry lists a 10 kg stroller, a 22 kg maximum recommended child weight and a 4 kg basket limit; those historical specifications do not establish the condition or safety of any used example. Check the exact model, parts and operation before use.
What the Steelcraft Agile Elite is
Britax’s instruction manual identifies the Agile Elite as a travel-system stroller, series SH908ELITE. CHOICE recorded a four-wheel stroller with variable backrest recline and a two-year warranty in its 2018 test entry. Confirm the label and manual on the individual stroller: a second-hand unit, variant or incomplete listing should not be assumed to match that record.

CHOICE listed the stroller at $430 in 2018. That is a historical test-entry price, not a current offer or guide to present-day value. ProductReview.com.au labels the model discontinued; the available sources do not establish whether new-old-stock, accessories or replacement parts can currently be obtained. These figures come from CHOICE’s 2018 test entry, not an inspection of a particular stroller. Verify the limits against the label and complete manual for the unit you are considering.

The listed 10 kg carry weight is relevant if you regularly lift a stroller into a car or carry it up stairs. The cited CHOICE entry does not give a folded size, so it cannot answer whether the Agile Elite will fit a particular boot or storage space; check the actual stroller folded against your available measurements.
Which capsules fit the Agile Elite?
The Britax manual names the Steelcraft Baby Capsule and Safe-n-Sound Unity Baby Capsule for use with the Agile Elite. It also says to use approved accessories only. Capsule use may require the correct receivers or adapters, and the manual describes the capsule attaching in a rearward-facing orientation.

Do not treat a marketplace title or a capsule that appears to fit as proof of safe compatibility. Before using a capsule, confirm its exact model, the stroller variant, the required receivers and the instructions for both products in the complete manual. The Britax Agile Elite instruction manual is the relevant starting point.
What should you know about the tray, basket and handle?
- The manual sets a 1 kg limit for the tray and a 4 kg limit for the basket. Do not exceed either limit.
- The manual says not to hang bags or goods from the handle because the stroller could tip over.
- The arm bar/tray is described as separately sold. The manual warns not to lift the stroller by the arm bar because it may disengage; its search-result text also says the arm bar should be attached while a child is in the stroller. Check the complete manual and the specific unit before use, and confirm exact compatibility before buying a separate accessory.
What do owners say about everyday use?
ProductReview.com.au owner posts include positive comments about folding and maneuverability, alongside complaints about basket access, recline adjustment and parts that were hard to find or had broken. These are individual reports, not controlled tests or a representative measure of reliability. They are useful prompts for a hands-on check: fold and unfold the stroller, try the recline, inspect basket access and check that all required parts are present and working.

Is a second-hand Agile Elite safe to use?
A model name or an apparently good condition cannot certify an individual stroller. The ACCC advises checking the restraint system, wheel and brake locks, folding mechanisms, stability, labels and overall condition. Inspect the frame and components for damage or missing parts, and consult the correct manual. Do not use a stroller with a faulty harness, brake, lock or frame, and do not leave a child unattended in it.
- Identify the unit. Check its label and series against the manual; establish which accessories and parts belong with that exact stroller.
- Inspect the restraint and frame. Check the harness for damage and proper operation, and look for damage or missing components.
- Test wheels, brakes and locks. Confirm that wheels and brake locks work as intended and that the stroller remains stable.
- Operate the folding mechanism. Fold and unfold it, checking for faults or unexpected movement.
- Confirm the accessories. Use only accessories approved for the exact variant, and verify capsule and receiver instructions before attaching a capsule.
The ACCC prams and strollers guide explains the regulator’s general inspection guidance. It cannot determine whether a specific second-hand Agile Elite is safe.

What to check before buying one used
- Confirm the series label, manual, included components and condition rather than relying on the listing description.
- Check the harness, frame, wheels, brakes, locks and folding operation in person where possible.
- Try the recline and basket access, and ask whether any parts are damaged or missing.
- If you need capsule compatibility, establish the exact capsule model and required receivers from the complete manual before purchase.
- Measure the folded stroller yourself if storage or car-boot fit matters; CHOICE’s cited entry gives unfolded dimensions only.
- Check the current availability of any needed accessory or replacement part directly before committing. The cited sources do not establish present-day availability.
If comparing it with another stroller, use the verified limits and 10 kg weight as reference points, then assess capsule compatibility, folding, storage fit, basket access, recline, parts availability and condition. The published figures alone do not establish that it is a better choice than another model.
