The announcement lists ten included content packs, expanded city-building tools, keyboard and mouse support, and two graphics options with publisher-stated targets of 60 FPS or 30 FPS. What’s coming to Switch 2
The announcement text, reproduced in a Reddit post as Paradox’s press release, describes Cities: Skylines – Expanded Edition as an edition optimized for Nintendo Switch 2. It is the original Cities: Skylines, not Cities: Skylines II. Nintendo’s page identifies the earlier Nintendo Switch Edition as a 2018 release: Nintendo UK’s listing gives its release date as September 14, 2018.

The announcement says the Expanded Edition adds features intended to make larger cities and more precise construction possible. The original Switch version’s stated buildable-area limit was nine tiles; the new edition is announced with 25 buildable tiles. Other listed additions include a map editor, precision placement, a distance indicator, updated snapping options, and a quick selection tool.
Building and environmental controls
Alongside the expanded build area, the announced tools include real-time control over time of day, rain, fog, and environmental coloring. The text does not explain the map editor’s full capabilities or specify how each of these controls affects gameplay.
