Compare each model’s capacity, stated increments, tare, units, display, power and care instructions before choosing. The examples below are manufacturer specifications, not results from independent accuracy testing.
What to compare before buying
Capacity and increments
Capacity is the maximum load; increments describe the steps shown on the display. They are separate specifications. For example, Avanti’s SKU 16861 is rated for up to 15 kg and lists 1 g increments, while Taylor’s SKU 384521 is rated for 5 kg and also lists 1 g increments. Match the maximum to your largest bowl or batch, while checking that the maker states increments in the units you plan to use.

Tare, units and display
Tare or zeroing lets you place a container on the platform and reset the reading, or zero between ingredients when adding them successively. The maker pages describe this function for the models below; check the specific manual for the controls and operation. Also consider whether the display and buttons remain accessible when a large bowl is on the platform.
Unit options vary. Some models offer volume readings such as millilitres, but a volume mode is a model-specific convenience, not a substitute for weighing every ingredient: equal volumes of different ingredients do not necessarily have equal weights.

Power, storage and care
Check the battery type and whether batteries are included, along with any automatic shutoff or low-battery and overload indicators. A glass platform is still part of an electronic appliance: follow its model-specific cleaning directions, and do not assume it can be immersed or put in a dishwasher.
How the listed models differ
These are examples of stated specifications, not a hands-on ranking. Manufacturer pages establish what each maker lists; they do not independently verify accuracy or durability.

Which capacity makes sense for your cooking?
Everyday bowls and baking
A 5 kg model such as the BerlingerHaus BH/9758 or Taylor SKU 384521 may suit ordinary ingredient weighing if your bowl and ingredients stay within that limit. The Taylor page lists 1 g increments; the cited BerlingerHaus page does not state increments, so do not assume they are the same.

Large batches and heavier loads
If you regularly weigh larger batches or heavy containers, compare the 7 kg ANT AEKS300 and 15 kg Avanti SKU 16861 against the load you actually expect. Their makers state 1 g increments, but that shared increment does not make their maximum capacities interchangeable.

Follow the instructions for the exact model. Avanti says to use a damp cloth only and warns against immersion and chemical or abrasive cleaners. Taylor’s use-and-care guidance says to handwash exposed parts and avoid immersion or dishwasher water. These directions do not establish that other electronic glass-top scales have the same cleaning tolerance; consult their manuals and keep the electronic unit dry.

How to make the final choice
- Set your capacity requirement from the heaviest bowl-and-ingredient load you expect to weigh.
- Check the stated increment and confirm it is given in a unit you use.
- Verify that tare and the supported weight units suit your recipes; treat any volume mode as a model-specific feature.
- Check the display and controls against your typical bowl size, then review battery requirements and storage dimensions on the exact model page.
- Read the maker’s care instructions and confirm current availability and specifications in your market before buying.
