Chelsea’s 2026/27 Premier League squad list names Emiliano Martínez, Teddy Sharman-Lowe, Mike Penders and Gabriel Slonina as goalkeepers. That is a list of registered options, not a confirmed pecking order: the available official information does not establish which keeper starts or rank the young players. Robert Sánchez and Filip Jørgensen are away on season-long loans, while several developing keepers are also out on loan.
Who is on Chelsea’s 2026/27 goalkeeper list?
The Premier League’s 2026/27 squad list names four Chelsea goalkeepers. Chelsea’s summer 2026 transfer update adds context about arrivals and departures, but neither a squad list nor shirt number proves a player’s matchday rank.

| Goalkeeper | Current status | What the evidence establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Emiliano Martínez | Listed in Chelsea’s 2026/27 Premier League squad | Chelsea says he joined from Aston Villa in summer 2026. He is a senior signing and a listed first-team goalkeeper; the listing does not establish that he starts every match. |
| Mike Penders | Listed in the Premier League squad and Chelsea men’s profiles | A current listed goalkeeper. The checked sources do not establish a rank over the other listed keepers. |
| Teddy Sharman-Lowe | Listed in the Premier League squad and club profiles | A profile snapshot showed two appearances, 153 minutes and zero clean sheets for 2026/27 as of 4 October 2026. That small, date-specific sample does not establish his role or ability. |
| Gabriel Slonina | Listed in the Premier League squad and club profiles | A current listed goalkeeper. The checked sources do not give comparable current-season minutes to rank him against the other keepers. |
Chelsea’s preseason tour page cautioned that tour shirt numbers may not be the final 2026/27 squad numbers. Treat them as identifiers, not evidence of selection order.

A goalkeeper on loan is developing elsewhere, not an immediate Chelsea matchday option unless later information confirms a return. Chelsea’s summer 2026 update and the Premier League squad-list publication distinguish these players from the listed first-team group.

- Hudson Sands: Chelsea says he signed a new contract and joined Dulwich Hamlet on a youth loan.
How to compare Chelsea’s young keepers fairly
Separate availability, experience, performance and technical assessment. They answer different questions; no single squad listing or isolated statistic answers all four.
1. Check availability and pathway
Start with whether a goalkeeper is listed with the first team or away on loan. A loan destination can show where a player is gaining experience, but it does not place him in Chelsea’s immediate matchday order.

2. Compare senior experience by season and competition
State the competition, period and sample size alongside appearances or minutes. Curd’s more than 3,000 senior minutes at Boreham Wood refer to 2025/26; Sharman-Lowe’s two appearances and 153 minutes are a 2026/27 profile snapshot checked on 4 October 2026. Those different periods and samples are not a head-to-head comparison.

3. Use performance statistics only when the data match
If comparable current figures are available, compare the same competition and date range. Minutes and appearances describe exposure; clean sheets also depend on team context. Save percentage or goals prevented can add detail only when sourced consistently for the same period. The checked sources do not provide a complete, comparable current-season statistical set for Penders, Slonina and Sharman-Lowe.

4. Keep technical judgments evidence-based
Claims about distribution, command of the box or shot-stopping need attributed scouting evidence or relevant match analysis. The available sources do not support a definitive technical ranking among Chelsea’s young keepers, so roster presence or potential should not be presented as proof of ability.

The official 2026/27 list identifies Martínez, Penders, Sharman-Lowe and Slonina as Chelsea goalkeepers; the club’s loan update separates several others who are developing away from the first team. The information establishes squad status and some experience, but not a definitive selection order or a complete ability ranking.
