To remove a saved Wi‑Fi network, go to Settings > Wi‑Fi > Edit, tap the info button beside the network, choose Forget This Network, then confirm Forget. If that option is missing or unavailable, the iPhone may be supervised or the network may be managed by a school or workplace.
How to forget a saved Wi‑Fi network on iPhone
- Open Settings and tap Wi‑Fi.
- Tap Edit to view saved networks.
- Tap the info button beside the network you want to remove.
- Tap Forget This Network, then confirm by tapping Forget.
For the network currently connected to your iPhone, you can also open Settings > Wi‑Fi, tap its info button, and select Forget This Network. Apple documents both routes in its Wi‑Fi network guidance and iPhone Wi‑Fi settings guide.

Why “Forget This Network” may not be available
Apple says supervised devices and managed networks may restrict the ability to forget a network or turn off Auto-Join. This is common in settings controlled by a school or employer; the administrator may have applied a configuration that prevents changes. Contact the organization’s IT team rather than treating the missing option as a phone fault. See Apple’s guidance on forgetting networks.

Use Forget This Network when you want to remove the saved network and its password—for example, because the stored password is outdated. Use Auto-Join when you want to keep the saved credentials but stop the iPhone from connecting automatically. Open the network’s info screen in Wi‑Fi settings and switch off Auto-Join.

Forgetting a network does not prevent your iPhone from detecting it or showing it among available Wi‑Fi networks. It removes the saved connection details; the network can still appear in the list when it is in range. Apple explains these options in its network management instructions.
Before you confirm: iCloud Keychain may affect other devices
If you use iCloud Keychain with the same Apple Account on other devices, forgetting the network on your iPhone also causes those devices to forget it. Consider whether you want to remove it across those devices before confirming.

If the network password has changed
When your iPhone has an old password saved, forget the network and join it again. Select the network from the available Wi‑Fi list and enter the current password when prompted. Apple recommends this approach for a previously joined network with an outdated password: help with a Wi‑Fi password.
Why Reset Network Settings is not the first fix
Reset Network Settings affects much more than one saved Wi‑Fi network. Apple says it removes all Wi‑Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings. Try the targeted Forget action first; Apple advises using the reset only after other solutions fail. If the iPhone has school or business network settings, consult IT or the network administrator before resetting. See Apple’s Wi‑Fi troubleshooting guidance.
